Authentic mountain cabin experience in a great location just a 2.8 miles to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and 8.9 miles to Hawksnest Snow Tubing. Free Sugar Mountain Village Shuttle stop near the end of our street, Shelter Rock Circle. After a day of skiing or snow tubing, relax in the hot tub on the back deck or by the woodburning fireplace. Minutes to great Banner Elk Restaurants. Animal skins, caribou mount above the fireplace, and vintage railway coffee table add to the cabin experience. Mile high swinging bridge at Grandfather Mountain. Enjoy hiking, beautiful waterfalls, ziplining, mountain biking, fishing, rafting, and golf--all nearby.

Spacious, romantic king bedroom upstairs with connected bathroom and Roku TV. Loft area upstairs with a twin on top/full on bottom bunkbed with Roku TV. Second queen bedroom on main level with Roku TV and private door to downstairs bathroom. Vaulted ceiling in living room with real wood burning fireplace.

Cozy cabin

The cabin was perfect for our family! Short trip to the ski slopes and near shopping and dining. Tania was a great host always accessible and accommodating. We enjoyed the cabin.

Cozy, Beautiful Cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gem of a cabin on Sugar Mountain. It was comfortable, well-stocked, and ready to entertain a family with young children. We loved the fire pit and hot tub, and the location couldn't have been more convenient to gorgeous hikes and waterfalls in the area. Loved our time there and would happily return!

Great House

We stayed at this house with her three teenage boys and truly enjoyed everything. The house is well laid out and everything as described. Also close enough, where you can ski both mountains very easily. Highly recommend.

Great cabin for family time!

We loved this cabin from the moment we walked through the door! It is beautifully decorated, clean, and stocked with anything you’ll need! My 6 year old looked around and said “I wish we could stay here for one thousand days!” We enjoyed the hot tub and making s’mores in the fire pit. The cabin is stocked with board games and we loved just spending family time together, playing games, and connecting as a family. This is the perfect place to unwind and we cannot wait to visit again!

Hi, I'm Tania. Although my husband, Greg, and I call Wilmington, NC home, we have always loved getting away to the NC and Virginia mountains. We and our 4 children love many of the outdoor activities the high country offers such as skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, tubing, hiking, and golfing. Each property has a special place in our hearts. Sugar Mountain holds a special memory for us, as we became engaged over 30 years ago on Calloway Peak at Grandfather Mt, and our 4th child, Calloway, reminds us every day. Our children learned to ski and snowboard at an early age, during our annual trips to Wintergreen Resort. And Maggie Valley with nearby Cherokee were always a family favorite. We are blessed by God to have had the opportunity to buy properties that hold special memories for our family, and it makes us so happy to be able to share them with you, so that you can create memories with your families and friends! For beach lovers, we also enjoy hosting guests at our guest cottage in Wilmington near Wrightsville Beach. Whether in the mountains or at the beach, we try to make all our properties a clean and relaxing place of refuge where you can enjoy spending time with the ones you love!
