Family boating cottage on Whitefish Chain of Lakes

Welcome to the simple beauty of Minnesota lake life!
Sip a sunrise coffee on your lake-view deck and watch the fog lift from the water. Paddle the pristine waters of Bertha Lake on the provided kayaks and SUPs, or rent a boat from Bertha BoatWorks just around the corner.
With a sandy stretch of beach and a dock for casting a line, you can enjoy MN’s Whitefish Chain of Lakes without leaving your backyard. After a sunny day of lake activities, close the day with s’mores around the fire pit!
BED & BATH
Our cabin is great for a smaller group. Two couples, or 1-2 small families with kids, are just right for the space. Each of the two bedrooms has a King-size bed and a triple bunk bed, allowing the cabin to sleep 4 adults and up to 6 kiddos. The shared bath features a tub/shower combo.
KITCHEN & DINING
Recent remodels at the cabin include quartz countertops, new floors and cabinets, and central air. The interior design channels Scandinavian-inspired simplicity, with clean lines and nautical hues of blue, gray, and crisp white.
At mealtimes, the updated kitchen is ready and waiting to help feed your crew. A butcher-block center island has two barstools (great for chatting with the chef while they work!). The nearby dining table seats 10 more. When dinner is over, load up the dishwasher and head out for sunset on the screened porch or your private deck—both have a lovely lake view.
EXTRA GOODIES
When temperatures cool, the cabin gets even cozier! Stoke a fire in the gas stove in the living area and curl up under a blanket for a movie on the sofa. Outdoors, the fire pit is perfect for crisp nights under the stars. Warm up in our 6-person barrel sauna.
You can pack light: the cabin includes kid gear like a pack ‘n play and a booster seat, and the washer and dryer inside the cabin ensures your bathing suits stay clean.
NOTE
If you have more than 4 adults, this may not be the right rental for you, as the triple bunk beds are designed for kids, not grownups.
Because of the stairs leading to the front door, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible.
Guests access the property via a keyless lock with a code that is changed between every set of guests

Family Weekend

Our best friends, and our kids stayed the weekend. We had so much fun. The location was perfect. It was clean, quiet lake, perfect for our families to relax. We will be back!

Last minute getaway with the kids and grandparents. The space was perfect for our little family. The boys loved the little sandy beach/swim area and fishing off the dock was fun. We brought our little fishing boat up and had it parked at the dock and easily took it out throughout the trip. The family room and dining room were comfy to hang out in and watch movies and play games/cards. We'll definitely come back again.

Perfect for a family

We enjoyed all of the many amenities available at the property: fishing off the dock, paddle boards, kayaks, grilling, and coffee in the screened porch. Great home and outdoor space!

Such a beautiful lake home with all the amenities you would need!

We had such a wonderful time and it was set up so nicely for renters. It was nice having the extra towels and the sleeping arrangements worked out great! The kayaks and paddle boards were fun to try out as well. Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful lake home!!

Exactly as advertised

Reserved this property less than two days before our visit. Was very appreciative that they were able to accommodate our request on short notice. Communication was prompt and thorough, yet enjoyable concise. There were no surprises as everything was exactly as advertised! The property was tucked away on the edge of the main lake and was very peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we were looking for with younger kids enjoying the water activities.

Up North Getaway

This is a great property to stay at especially for a family. It was just my family who stayed here, but it could work for two families. Everything is as advertised. It has all the things you would ever need plus some. Even the shower had a nice "hotel style" soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispenser which was a really nice touch. They even have a beach down by the lake which we played at every day. Our only complaint would be that the cleaning company they use does a horrible job. The hardwood floors weren't swept. The rug in the living room looked and felt like it hadn't been vacuumed in months. You could feel sand in the bunk bed sheets my son slept in. And the ceiling fans you could visibly see the dust caked on them. Furthermore, there was no remote for the only TV in this place. We are a "no shoes in the house family" so this was such a disappointment. We had to bring in blankets from the car so our toddler could do tummy time etc..

Relaxing end to summer!

Our family of 6 (4 kids ages 10, 8, 6 3) had a great time at this property. The house was very clean, well maintained and stocked with many useful necessities. Check in was a non-issue. Family game time in the dining room was perfect for the rainy days. We were impressed by the beautiful lake view! We spent many hours exploring the chain of lakes and catching sunfish off the dock. We truly enjoyed our time at this property!

Lake Life
