I had a lovely stay here with my dog for a work retreat. After working, I went for a bike ride or hike every afternoon; there are so many great trails within a 5-10 minutes drive! The fenced-in yard was great for my dog, and we both loved sitting on the deck in the sun. Bernie was super responsive and provided great information. The house was so cozy, and was even decorated for the holidays.

Lovely AFrame cabin . Wonderful views and close to all the recreation areas. Owner was very good with the communication. Definitely will plan another trip here .

Beautiful quaint A frame house which was perfect for our overnight stay. We had everything we needed. Owner was very responsive to any messages and even offered a later checkout if we required free of charge. The horses next door were an added bonus.. Will definitely stay again if visiting the area.. Thank you.

Communication was great! The location was easy to find with enough parking right in front of the house. The AC units worked great and we were comfortable the entire time. Loved the two escape ladders as a precaution; we obviously didn’t need to use them but that peace of mind was great. I would easily book again without any reservations! Water pressure in the shower was fine and the fire pit was nice. There are horses right next door, which did smell a bit depending on the wind. But that was not a big deal to us at all to get away from it all and enjoy the mountains and lake.

Elk sleepover was terrific!

Rustic and quaint, our stay was very enjoyable and very comfortable (A/C in all rooms). Nice touches from the owner and very accommodating.

Bernie was an amazing host! This A-Frame has the perfect cozy/outdoorsy vibe. It’s in a tranquil neighborhood, our neighbors were horses and we got to see wild deer in our backyard! The sunrise views are SPECTACULAR! Street lights in the neighborhood are pretty much non existent during the night, which is perfect for star gazing. Backyard is also the vibe! I didn’t use the entirety of the house but they have everything to accommodate a nice sized family. Its located in a small town, so make sure to bring your own groceries/water, etc. they have a coffee shop that functions off of donations and all donations go to the community art museum, GO SUPPORT . next big town is Kernville which is a great hangout town, lots of restaurants and when I went they had a community market at their community park which was nice! Hiking trails are all over the proximity 20-60 min drives. The lake is also visible and accessible from this home! Will be coming back!

Cozy place with easy access to nature

We went for a girls trip and to check out some of the trails and waterfalls in the area. The place was nice and we really enjoyed the outside fire pit.

Nice clean place to relax after a day out on the water, very convenient to both Kernville and Lake Isabella, and close to some nice hikes in the forest!

Charming A-frame cabin

My husband, our daughter, and I had a wonderful stay! The kitchen is clean and well-equipped, and the living room is a great place to relax and read. We hope to come back on a future trip.

Had a great time at Bernies cabin. Cabin was clean and spacious. Close to kern river and town for exploring. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was perfect, close to the lake and trails. The home was beautiful. Backyard fenced but had tons of poop. The kitchen had enough plates and silverware for the 3 of us but we had to go buy trash bags, tissue and paper towels for our four night stay. BBQ not set up for use.The cleaners apparently decided not to fully dry the bathroom towels and still hung them and folded them for us to use. Some damp but the majority were full on wet, they would have felt they were wet and chose to fold them and hang them up for us to use. There were also dirty dishes in the dishwasher for us to clean and empty. Dishwasher wasn't fastened into space and shakes. At booking I asked if there was a television to use downstairs and the owner said he'd have one set up. It wasn't set up.Door knob missing from room.We contacted the owner at check in he sent the cleaners the next day to bring towels and set up tv. The owner said the TV was set up on a table downstairs. It wasn't. It was put in a room, on the ground, covered in dirt, no table and unplugged. We took it downstairs and cleaned it up and it didn't work. The television upstairs is out of sync with the words and voice, maybe an internet issue but you'd have to mute it and do CC to use. Directions say there is firewood, kindling and lighters in closet. There wasn't, we had to buy our own. The firewood left next to the fireplace was waterlogged like the towels. The owner needs new staff and he seemed not to believe our issues.
