Enjoy your stay at our fully renovated Farmhouse situated on 3 acres. Spacious, garden covered and beautiful shady trees line the property, leading you down to a beautiful view of where river meets ocean. Next to the rustic barn with the tin roof, you will often be met with eagles as they come to sit on their perch overlooking the water. The house was fully renovated in Spring of 2022 and was renewed to much its original beauty. Boasting open beam ceilings and original plank floors, the Little Dutch House (original owners came over from the Netherlands in 1953) is ready to show off all of the updates to those looking to have a relaxing vacation on the Northumberland Shore. 5 bedrooms include 2 king beds, 1 queen and 2 doubles. Full bathroom is completely updated. Laundry on site. Pets welcome with pre-approval upon discussion. Guests will be provided with a full brochure on what to see and do while in the area. Don't miss out, you'll love your stay at The (not so) Little Dutch House!

The large property worked perfectly for our family get- together in Pictou. The patio, firepit, and large kitchen were fully utilized. I don't know how you did it, but the weather was perfect too! Everyone had a wonderful time!

The communication was fast and informative, Dawn was very kind and helpful. The property is as advertised and easy to find. Very peaceful and well appointed. Beds are extremely comfortable we slept very well. Love the air conditioning. I would like to go back for longer.

Beautiful House

Our group of friends had an excellent stay! Five beds and separate bedrooms upstairs were perfect for our group as well as a big open concept kitchen, large dining room table and comfortable living room. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to others.

Northumberland Strait Vacation

We really loved our stay at this farmhouse in Pictou. The property is beautiful and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. It’s a great home base close to all the nearby beaches and the host was a great communicator. Our family is hoping to stay again in the near future, highly recommend.

Fabulous Family Time

We just loved The Little Dutch House. It was central to so many sites, and in and of itself it is a beautiful location, lovingly maintained and equipped. We are a family group of 8, with some of us living in New Scotsburn and the rest from various parts of Ontario We spent a wonderful week exploring and reconnecting. Would not hesitate to stay here again. My thanks to Dawn who could not have been kinder!

Family reunion

The property was better than expected. We were there for a family reunion close by and this property was minutes away from everything. We enjoyed going into Pictou and had seafood at some great restaurants. The children tried fishing but the tide was heading out so it was too shallow. Lots of oysters so not good for swimming but close to some beaches if you wanted to swim. Dawn was an awesome host and was easy to contact. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Beautiful vintage home

This older farmhouse is as beautifully redone while still retaining its classic charm. A great location along the water with a variety of outdoor seating. The host was friendly and very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend it for adults or a family.

Best family vacation!

We had a lovely family vacation at the Little Dutch House! It was incredible. The decor and style of the home was stunning. Can’t wait to show off the pictures. It accommodates a large group without anyone having to bring an air mattress or sleep on a couch. We will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful spacious property with lots of room and wildlife (the eagle and deer visit daily!) It was a great place to stay at with my family. There were 10 of us that stayed and the size of the house was great. 2 full bathrooms would have been better for sure. Dawn was amazing and very helpful and thoughtful ❀ i would definitely come back
