Cute cabin with lots of amenities

We stayed in this cabin for two nights with our dog and it was very peaceful and fun! The cabin has a campfire, lots of batteries for charging, lights, battery fans, etc. There were many long walking trails with fun activities; like kayaking, axe throwing, a pizza oven… Exactly what we were looking for! Would stay again!

Unique and fun place!

Loved staying in Roxie the tiny cabin. It was outfitted with many thoughtful and useful items, powered by the sun, and just perfect. The kayaks and other water equipment were a huge plus and the special areas of the property like the pub and pizzeria were creative. My dog and I will be back for sure!

Cozy Cabin

Roxie (the cabin) was so cozy and clean. It had everything you could have needed stocked (even if you didn’t know you needed it). Although it rained the entire time we were there, we were still able to take advantage of the amenities which included canoe/kayaks, hiking trails, grill, fire pits, etc. it was a romantic getaway weekend for our anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay.

A cozy, whimsical, well stocked, quiet getaway

My wife and I spent two nights in the Roxie cabin and loved everything about it. We cooked over the firepit, paddled on the water and enjoyed the quiet time away. The Jackery solar battery power system and lighting assure your gear stays charged but that you can see, and everything in the space is well stored for utilizing the footprint. If you need a place to stay in the woods with easy access I definitely recommend.

Miniature home away from home

We very much enjoyed staying in your cabin! Your attention to detail was amazing and greatly appreciated. We have rented numerous in Maine and yours is by far the best! We had a snow/ice storm and we were nice and warm and cozy! No problems getting in and out thanks to your prompt removal. We are looking forward to coming back!

Cozy!

Roxie was a cozy tiny cabin! It was absolutely perfect for the one night passing through with the dog. My only regret was not having more time to make it a longer stay. The cabin has everything you need for a stay! The wood stove did a great job heating it, and it stayed pretty warm all night. GPS took me right there, no issue finding the road. And while no WiFi, cell service was fine and could stream playoff baseball before bed. Would 10/10 stay again and for longer if back in the area!

Stella

I was offered Stella which is a beautiful little apartment due to a mistake I made when applying to stay in Roxie. I didn't realize Roxie was solar and I really needed electricity for this stay. It was a more a business trip not a camping trip.Sherri very graciously let me stay in Stella which was wonderful . Very clean, bright , everything you could need . I would definitely stay there again..

Quaint

the cabins were quaint and expectedly tiny, but I was disappointed that not only was there no wifi, I could barely get signal. I loved being out in nature, but its hard to coordinate plans without at least cell data these days. That said, everything else was perfect so I only took off a star.

Hi Cici, We do not list Wifi as an amenity at the cabin. We feel your review is unfair. Also, we have Verizon phones and they work in all areas on the property.

beautiful little winter getaway

The cabin was so ingeniously set up with battery packs for lighting and plenty of wood for the stove. It gave it an even cozier feel. The land is beautiful and the lake was amazing to look at especially frozen over. I’m so excited to see what the owners do with the property since they are currently developing it. The lake looked stocked with canoes and there is a cute, sturdy dock and places to sit and admire the water in the warmer months. The host was very communicative and gave us recommendations for local restaurants and asked if we needed more supplies. They were also willing to work around our schedule to replenish the cabin which made it feel even more remote and romantic. I can’t wait to come back in the summer, but don’t pass this cabin over for a winter stay either!!

If you are looking to camp but to do so in comfort, this is the option for you. The cabin is clean and comfortable with many of the things that you need while camping: power to charge phones, a grill, fresh water, a potty, and a super cozy bed. The pond was a very short walk from the cabin, and we were able to use the canoe and do some fishing. Caught a couple of small mouth bass. We also floated around watching a family of bald eagles flying overhead. There are multiple fire pits in the area so you can choose what kind a view you want to see while you relax. Sherri was incredibly responsive to any communications. Overall, it was exactly what we needed. A great little hidden gem that is so worth visiting.

Roxie was awesome to us

NGL, I was a little nervous by the “rustic” quality of the Tiny Homes of Maine but it was a great visit. The cabin IS small, but not cramped at all! it is so well laid and stocked with anything you could want. The wood stove inside is adorable (!!) and we were super comfortable for our 50ish degree overnight. They clearly put a TON of though into provisioning and using the space well. She had headlamps, hammocks, lights and batteries and most importantly a coffee press. All instructions for were simple and well placed. Mosquitos were bad but she had tons of citronella and spray that kept us mostly comfortable. I’m already a follower and huge fan and can’t wait to see how they grow!

Hidey-Hole Woods Escape

I stayed in Roxie for a solo, unplugged, disconnect-from-everything getaway and it was amazing. The cabin is adorable and cozy and Sherri and Joel thought of everything. There are notes all around the cabin and a binder thoroughly explain everything including the wood stove for heating, the composting toilet, the battery-pack-power situation. Everything about this tiny cabin made me slow down and relax and I will be doing it every year! The guest shower up at the office is a short walk and super nice and if you need Wi-Fi you can connect there. I have Verizon and my service was great. P.S. They literally thought of *everything*. All of it. You could show up there with only clothes and food and be great. And the space saving elements and options to have tables/shelves up and down were very useful and very well placed!

Rustic camping on private pond

Great spot if you are looking for glamping right off the highway, private area on a pond with great kayak/canoeing/paddle board options! Cute concept with what they are building for walking distance spots for campers- loved that idea! But need to know *no* running water or showers on site-also no spa or hot tub as listed, which I was hoping to use and relax. It is solar powered for small items. The cabin is small and has lots of clever items you may need arranged creatively in the cabin! Great communication with owners. Would have been perfect if we had fall-time weather as we hoped, but was too hot and humid for us, too much for our old pup so had to bring him home, and wasn’t fully what I had in mind. Good overall and still an experience.

This tiny cabin was super cute and would have been even better we were not in a heat wave - not the fault of the cabin or the host! Sherry was very friendly and helpful. We were delighted that there was electricity to keep our food cold in the minifridge and run the fans in the cabin, but the hot tub running constantly probably didn't help with how hot we were. I think this place would be amazing in cooler weather, especially if cool enough to use the hot tub. The pond was fun and we took a paddle board out which was lovely. Ax throwing was also surprisingly fun! The one downside for us was the sound of traffic on the nearby road, we could hear it constantly and found it annoying, although it might not be a big deal for most people, we are just used to not hearing traffic. We were impressed with how few mosquitoes there were around the cabin. We had a good stay and enjoyed the Sheepscot general store for breakfast.

Sherri and Joel are lifelong Mainers who love the outdoors and believe some of life's best moments happen when you slow down and spend time in nature.

Sherri is a middle school math teacher with a passion for designing and building unique tiny cabins. What began as a single cabin project in 2020 quickly grew into a dream. In 2022, they purchased 100 wooded acres so they could continue creating one-of-a-kind getaways where guests can unplug, reconnect, and experience the beauty of Maine.

Each cabin is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted, with custom details inspired by the surrounding forest. From natural wood accents to cozy gathering spaces, Sherri's goal is simple: to create places that feel welcoming, peaceful, and memorable.

Joel works as a labor relations specialist and helps bring the projects to life, while together they enjoy sharing their little corner of Maine with guests from near and far.
