Relaxing Country Log House on 65 wooded acres

Need space for a family get away, a wedding party, for your golf buddies or for your small group retreat? The beautiful log house in the midst of 65 wooded acres outside Saint Stephen offers space and peace to make this happen. Watch sunsets from front porch, gather for dinners on the deck or relax in front of the fire place - the Log House will not disappoint. The woods surrounding the house offers hiking trails for walks, and deer and turkeys can frequently be seen.

Weekly rentals run Friday to Friday to optimize the weekends.

Please note our caretake lives in a separate structure located 50 yards from the Log House and can be a great resource should you have any questions or concerns during your stay.

A short 10 minute drive, you can visit The Mississippi River Park which offers year around hiking and biking trails, archery range plus cross country skiing trails in the winter all for free. https://www.stearnscountymn.gov/394/Mississippi-River-County-Park

Our stay at the Log House was absolutely wonderful. We stayed for about a week around Christmas and the house was decorated beautifully! We are big on homecooked meals around this time so a well stocked/equipped kitchen is important to us, and it met all our needs from cooking to baking. Plenty of space for 7 adults. The beds are comfortable. Communication with the host was very easy. The few issues that did arise were addressed and dealt with quickly. Overall well worth the stay and we would book again in the future.

The kitchen was fully equipped with all sorts of supplies, included a coffee pot which they have one on all three levels of the house. Very cozy, especially around the holidays! We were there a few weeks before Christmas, and it was very nicely decorated! The rooms were cozy and well supplied with extra pillows and blankets. It was pretty chilly while we were there so we didn't do much outside, but would love to come back in the warmer months to enjoy the amenities offered outside. Highly recommend staying here!

The cutest log cabin! Thank you for having everything that we could possibly need! We enjoyed both fire pits, Blackstone grill, the huge yard, cornhole game, etc. Beds were comfortable and walk-in shower was able to accommodate my uncle that uses a walker. Plenty of space for the 8 of us that stayed there. Highly recommend! *Note that the maximum amount of people is 15 at one time, so even though it’s a big house with a lot of land, you aren’t really able to have any sort of family reunion or party there unless it’s under that limit. Also had to put trash bags in car and drive to the bins at the end of the driveway.

If you’re thinking about booking this place - just do it!

I cannot say enough praise about the Log House. The owners have put a lot of time, thought, and effort into making this a beautiful, relaxing destination. The house is practically in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful scenery. The grounds are meticulously maintained and if you think the pictures in the listing are too good to be true 
 if anything, the opposite is true. The pictures don’t do it justice. If I had a vacation home, this would be it. Bravo!

Without a doubt, the Log House was the best vacation home I've ever rented, and I've been renting vacation homes on and off since the early 1990s! The house is well-designed, furnished very tastefully, and well stocked with kitchen cookware and utensils. The property grounds are spectacularly planted and immaculately maintained. But the best part about the Log House is the Owner/Host, Hege, who was very timely in responding to my inquiries and extremely helpful with my requests. All in all, the Log House was the very best vacation rental I have ever had. I hope to rent the Log House again and highly recommend it I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to rent a rural vacation home that is beautiful in all respects!

Amazing Place!

Stunningly gorgeous place. So comfortable and adorably decorated. The house had everything you need for an enjoyable stay and more. The place is on lovely land with walking trails. The place is perfect for a large family or for a friends getaway. Highly recommend this cabin. I plan on renting it again with the same group I went with plus rent it again a different time and bring others.

Beautiful Home in the Woods

The beautiful log home worked so well for a group of 8 adults on a mid-winter long weekend getaway. We spent hours in the light-filled sunporch and enjoyed morning walks on the wooded trails. FYI--the 2nd floor of the house has a spacious bathroom with just a tub--no shower. However the second bathroom on main floor worked well for those wanting a shower.

This property was amazing. It was well-stocked with supplies. The location is beautiful and so peaceful. My granddaughters loved the loft area. The cabin is very spacious and tastefully decorated. We would definitely return to his location.

Family Holiday Retreat

Our family traveled from Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia, to visit my oldest daughter and grandchildren in St Cloud, MN. The log house met all my expectations, it was stocked with everything a family would need in a house, very clean, spacious and not to mention beautiful. The owners were very easy to communicate with. I definitely will book the house on my next visit!

Log House Luxury

The Log House felt palacial and homey at the same time. The prperty is well maintained and the atmosphere created by the mix of gardening and nature of the country was seamlessly combined. The Log house was tastefully decorated and provided all the comforts of home with the feeling of getting away. My friends and I were able to comfortly and effortly enjoy time together in a clean and comfortable space, create food for one another, laugh, dance, relax together with the space that also provided for private night sleep and down time in our extremely comfortable beds!
