Majestic Rock House

If you’re looking to get away, this newly updated house, nested on a magical rock surrounding beautiful Clear lake, is the retreat for you! Enjoy panoramic views of the lake and migrating birds.

Relax on a private deck shaded by mature oak trees and watch the osprey’s gliding below you or use the house as a jumping off point. Mendocino National Forest, just 20 minutes away, offers endless possibilities: hop on a mountain bike and explore the local trails, hike, fish, and hunt. The home is serviced by a water source, which is a natural surface well, which during warm months may have a natural sulfur smell. Water is safe and is filtered and backed washed daily during backwash cycles. You may hear a water sound coming from the laundry room during the system cycle. Additionally, we recommend bringing bottled water as a preferred source for drinking water during your stay.

The view at the property was awesome. The cleanliness of property was not good, had both ants and knats. The city is very sketchy. This is fine if you plan on just staying at property.

Honestly I could see myself living at the property. It was modern, new, clean, comfortable, well appointed, offered incredible views of the lake, and felt remote when in all actuality we were very close to town. We loved fishing off the private pier and being able to bring our golden retriever along! We read reviews about the water smelling like sulfur but we didn’t experience it ourselves. The bed was comfortable, the showers hot, and I’ll be back!

Amazing place to get away from the city and relax! Absolutely loved our time here. Everything was clean, with a well equipped kitchen. Our pup loved playing in the water. We brought our paddle boards, but the waves were a bit too big. Quincy was great and super responsive to all our questions during the stay. Promptly dropped by when the doorlock battery was running low. As advertised in the property listing, the water has a strong smell of sulfur, so I’d recommend bringing jugs of bottled water for your stay. Would love to come back, with fishing rods and some binoculars next time (so many birds!!!).

A fantastic option for anyone looking for a quiet time in and around the clear lake area. The property has all of what you need, and nothing of what you don't. It's clearly well maintained--one of the best vacation rentals we've stayed in. We look forward to making a return trip.

Perfect getaway to relax and take time off - quiet and great view

Everything was amazing!! Starting with the great communication with the host. Having arrived, we found a very well-equipped house (especially the kitchen!) with absolutely everything we needed. The view was spectacular, we loved chilling outside. Thank you so much for this experience, we'll definitely be back another time.

The views are stunning!!! The house is beautiful and kitchen is well stocked with everything you need including snacks. What a nice touch! We stayed on the deck the entire trip because of the beautiful 180 degree views and the wonderful breeze. Don’t miss the sunrises and sunsets.

The home was nice. Great space and nice and quiet. Unfortunately I’m not sure I would stay again as there’s an issue with the water. I don’t feel like it was clearly explained what the issue is but you can’t drink the water and several of us were skeptical about showering due to the strong smell.

Great location, newly renovated house, management was very responsive and helpful, only issue is the sulphur smell in the water. It’s hard to drink the water or take shower with such a strong smell. Ornithologist’s Citadel

The view of the lake from a higher advantage point is understated. A small but relatively easy walk down to the dock is where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife at a closer vantage point. There is plenty of parking and places to walk the grounds above the house which is great if you have a pet. The house has all the amenities for a longer stay period. The individual room climate controls are nice and the furniture very comfortable. The host, Quincy, is very responsive to any questions you may have about the place. The hospitality to make your stay comfortable is top notch.

Wonderful quiet get away

We had a lovely time at this VRBO! The views from the back deck or unbelievable at night we slept in, so I never saw the sunrise, but loved all of the amenities. We loved being able to walk down and fish on our own dock. It had trees that overhang so we could sit in the shade down below while we fished. At night the wind would pick up and give us a gentle breeze. Super private, which we loved. We caught several bass for us. It was catch and release. Windows all around. It would be nice to have some shades on some of the windows so that you could block out the bright sun but other than that it was an incredibly delightful experience. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

THE VIEW

The view was amazing the property is stocked with kitchen and bath essentials. Our stay was during a heat wave and there is no window coverings (blinds, curtains or drapes). Later in the day the temperature inside was uncomfortable. The AC units could not keep up and keep up and I do believe it was due to the heat wave. Both beds were uncomfortable we left Monday morning and got a hotel room due to not sleeping well because the beds was uncomfortable. Would I stay here again? Yes, with better mattresses.
