1BR Ilikai Marina Ocean View 5 Star Location

Summary:

🌬️ Important Building Notice – HVAC Work September 1–5, 2026

Please be advised that Ilikai Marina has scheduled important HVAC maintenance from September 1 through September 5, 2026 for the replacement of Chiller One Compressor #1.

During this five-day project, the building’s HVAC system will operate at approximately 50% capacity, which may affect the air conditioning in the unit.

September 1: The building has advised that a complete HVAC shutdown will be required temporarily while the chilled-water system is drained and necessary work is completed. The HVAC system will be brought back online after the work is finished and the lines are refilled.

September 2–5: HVAC service will remain available at reduced capacity while the project continues.

The schedule is subject to change based on the building’s progress. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as this necessary building maintenance is completed.

Take a stroll along Waikiki beach and enjoy the warmth on your skin and the beach sand between your toes. This cute and upgraded 2nd-floor harbor/ocean view 1bedroom is located in the Ilikai Marina, an ocean front building located in the quieter side of Waikiki. The property is walking distance to a lot of shopping, places to eat and an easy car ride away from nature, such as hiking, snorkeling and surfing. Enjoy both tropical and urban style living from this thoughtfully appointed and beautiful property!

The Space:

WHAT OUR GUESTS LOVE ABOUT THE SPACE

✔ Location, location, location! This property is located in a very desirable part of Waikiki, which is located on the outskirts and is known as the quieter side of Waikiki. I personally prefer this part of Waikiki and lived here when I first came to Hawaii.

✔ It's a 5min walk to the famous Waikiki Beach. And the Hilton Lagoon

✔ 10-15 min walk to Ala Moana Center, the largest outdoor mall in the world. This building is also sandwiched between two hotels which are 2-3x the cost to stay.

✔ Modern and Clean Decor with ocean vibes

✔ Bright and airy

You'll also find the many convenience of home

✔ Wifi 500mbps (Provided by Spectrum and adequate for Zoom meetings and remote work- confirmed by many of past guests)

✔ Fully Stocked Kitchen

✔ Full sized Fridge + Freezer

✔ Queen Bed

✔ Central AC

✔ TV

✔ Clean and simple

THINGS TO NOTE (QUIRKS)

✔ Larger Lanai (Large enough to sit and lounge and exclusive to the 2nd floor in this building complex)

✔ The Ilikai Marina is more of a residential style building and was built around the 1970s. This particular unit is relatively upgraded and the building is well-maintained but as most buildings in Waikiki, it does not feel new. Personally, coming from Chicago, I noticed buildings in Waikiki felt older as well but I was enamored by the weather, the beach and surroundings.

✔ The building does routine AC maintenance, plumbing (water shut down) and pest control and you'll see notices in the elevator, we will try to remind you too.

✔ There is a dishwasher in this unit

✔ Plumbing seems sensitive in the building. We do our best to check but I find that the drains are tricky.

✔ Noise: This unit is on the 2nd floor so it's quite close to the street but it is ocean/harbor side. There are street noises and a restaurant close by (you may be able to hear music - although alot of guests tell us they enjoy it). If you are very sensitive to noise, I don't think this is a good fit for you.

DISCLAIMERS: PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING

The Ilikai Marina was built in 1968, and we want to be upfront about a few building-related conditions so you can decide whether this unit is the right fit for your stay.

▪️ PLUMBING: Because the building has older pipes, occasional slow drains or blockages may occur. The building may also temporarily shut off the water on Thursdays for scheduled maintenance, usually for approximately 3–4 hours. We check the faucets and drains before every stay, but please let us know if you notice any issues.

▪️ BALCONY DOORS: We regularly maintain and lubricate the balcony (lanai) doors, but they may occasionally feel stiff or require extra effort to open. Replacing the door wheels is a significant repair, and we arrange this when necessary.

▪️ RESTAURANT & FOOD AROMAS: A restaurant is located directly below the unit, so cooking and food aromas may occasionally be noticeable. If you’re especially sensitive to smells, this unit may not be the best fit for you.

▪️ PESTS: Occasional pests, including roaches, are common in Hawaii’s warm and humid tropical climate. The restaurant below and neighboring units may also affect pest activity. The building receives quarterly pest-control treatments, and we arrange additional professional treatment and flushing when needed. While we take active preventive measures, we cannot guarantee a completely pest-free stay.

To help prevent pests, please keep the kitchen clean, wipe down surfaces after use, and avoid leaving food, crumbs, or open containers out. A broom, dustpan, and vacuum are available in the unit for your convenience.

If any of these conditions would make you uncomfortable, we kindly recommend choosing another property. By booking this unit, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these disclosed building-related conditions. As these factors are clearly disclosed before booking and may be outside the host’s direct control, they should not be used afterward to request a discounted rate or refund.

Thank you for your understanding. We’ll always do our best to help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!

Guest Access:

When you arrive in Waikiki, you go to the building called the Ilikai Marina (not to be confused with the Ilikai Hotel across the street), the address is 1765 Ala Moana Blvd. It’s near the RED LOBSTER and the entrance is on Hobron.

There's no front desk, just two sets of elevators.

There is a common paid laundry area on the 8th floor.

You will be provided with a smart lock for entry.

This is a private accommodation and the apartment is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay, so relax, unwind, and make yourself at home!

The Neighborhood:

Waikiki is Oahu’s main hotel and resort area and a vibrant gathering place for visitors from around the world.

Along the main strip of Kalakaua Avenue you'll find world-class shopping, dining, entertainment, activities and resorts.

Getting Around:

In Honolulu and in Waikiki you can get around by shuttle, taxi, ride-share (such as Uber | Lyft) or public transportation. Many attractions located near the space can be reached by bike or by walking.

Rental cars are in high demand, so please plan ahead in order to secure a reservation prior to arrival. Major rental companies are available inside the Honolulu Airport (HNL).

PARKING OPTIONS:

Marina Parking Garage: this garage is attached to the building and is very convenient. It is $33/day and is paid directly to the parking attendant and is separate from the booking. Prices are subject to change. Be mindful not to keep belongings and valuables in a parked car. Prices are subject to change.

Street Parking: behind the building and near the harbor. It’s $1/hr and can be a good option for shorter parking time. Not sure about overnight parking, I have experience with this pre-covid and it was fine but would be mindful not to keep belongings or valuables in the car when parked outside. Prices are subject to change.

If you are taking trips to other islands during your stay, transportation options may vary.

Interaction with Guests:

The host and co-host will be accessible for guests via phone or app should you have any questions about the apartment or the area.

I get alot of joy from interacting and getting to know my guests. I'm honored to be a part of their Hawaii experience and I want it to be a life-long memory.

The interactions here are important to me and therefore I am selective with who I allow into my space. To me, this is more than hosting. I have been so grateful for all the great connections and lovely feedback I have been receiving and it fuels me in all parts of my life. Because of that, my guests have made all the difference.
