The space
This is a large farmhouse, built in 1890, and fully updated. It has been in our family for generations. We use it often for family gatherings so it's well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Note that there is no Wifi or TV in the house. But there is good cell phone service, so you can stream through your phones if you want.

Lovely farmhouse

Enjoyed all the pictures and history of the farmhouse. Also enjoyed sitting out back with cup of coffee and watching the sun rise. Had a great stay!

We had a fantastic stay at this huge historic farmhouse. My wife, 3 grown children, a 5 grandsons had plenty of room and enjoyed views of surrounding crops with wonderful sunrises and sunsets. All rooms were large with a kitchen and dining area easily accommodating our group. It's a short distance to Van Meter Park as well as my old home town of Marshall, where there's plenty of restaurants and a Walmart. Coming from the Orlando Fl area, my grandsons especially enjoyed seeing the huge fields of corn and soybeans. We enjoyed mornings and evenings swinging on the two front porch swings. The night sky was spectacular as there's no interfering town light. We hope to use this wonderful farmhouse again the next time we travel back to this area.

Exactly as described, beautiful old home filled with history

It is exactly as described in the listing, an old home out in the farm country but an easy short drive to Marshall. The home is both rich and history and comfortable to be in, a delicate balance that many find hard to maintain but was perfection in this case.

Great stay!

Everything was as described and there were no surprises. We were in the area on a hunting trip and only at the house at night left before sunrise. The house was comfortable and we enjoyed sharing our stories of the day. We would stay there again if were in the area. We enjoyed the old character of the farmhouse. Thanks for the rental.

Marshall visit

This historic farmhouse has all the charm and beauty of the hundred years this home has seen! The Dyer family’s history in Saline County lives on in the height marks on the pantry door, the pictures on the walls, and the period furniture throughout! Having sat in the kitchen chairs 50 year’s earlier, I relived my visit with IG and Nina shortly after taking over IG’s State Farm Agency in April, 1976! Sitting on the front porch , where, on October 1st, 1929, I G sold his first policies, was an exciting piece of history! Modern convenience is combined with a hundred years of history when you visit The Dyer Farmhouse !

Delightful 135 year old home on the national registry of historic properties! Well kept and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our 2night stay. We plan to stay there again when we are in central Missouri.
