Welcome to The Buckeye Valley Beech Bunker — a cozy, clean mountain retreat just 0.6 miles from Beech Mountain Resort. It’s close enough for a quick drive or easy walk to the slopes, which makes it perfect for ski weekends, winter getaways, and families looking for a comfortable home base on the mountain. Guests love the warm fireplace, the comfortable king bed, and the balcony where deer wander by all year long.

This one-bedroom condo sleeps up to four guests with a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Inside, you’ll find a simple, well-kept space with everything you need for an easy stay. A small desk and workspace were recently added, making it convenient for remote work, schoolwork, or catching up on emails between ski runs.

The kitchen is equipped with the basics for simple meal prep, and the smart lock makes check-in smooth and easy. Fast WiFi, a Smart TV with Roku, and an in-unit washer and dryer help make your mountain trip feel comfortable and relaxed.

Location really is the highlight here. You’re only 0.6 miles from Beech Mountain Resort and close to restaurants, walking trails, mountain biking, and everything the High Country offers. Banner Elk is just 10 miles away, Boone is 20 miles away, and the unit is tucked inside the historic Holiday Beech Villas community—one of the first condo communities built on the mountain in the early 70s.

Nature is part of the experience. You’ll often see deer right off the balcony, and in the winter months when the leaves drop, you get a lovely seasonal mountain view.

Good to know before you book:
• AWD/4WD is strongly recommended in winter
• The mountain gets very dark at night—arriving before dark is easier
• Cell service can be spotty, so downloading directions ahead of time helps
• There are exterior steps leading down to the unit

Couldn't get the fireplace to work. Had to leave a day early due to coming storm and a broken wrist that needed attention, so hoped for a night's refund, but it didn't come.

Nice clean little apartment. Deer greeted us upon arrival. Down a couple flights of wonky stairs, so keep that in mind while booking. Other than that, lovely stay.

Great location for skiing

We came to Beech Mountain to ski and the condo location was great. The place was comfortable and had nice furnishings. The heat wasn't fully on when we arrived (it was 57 indoors) but we were able to warm the place up relatively quickly with the fireplace. We would return for the convenience to the slopes.

Wonderful location to the Mountain

Condo is perfect location for skiing and enjoying all the activities on Beech Mountain. Judith is an excellent host and available almost immediately to answer any questions about condo and resort. Highly recommend this condo and would stay again.

Great for Skiing!

It was a little tight for our family of 4 but we spend all day on the slopes and basically just come back to sleep. It's perfect for that! Everything was as advertised and the pricing was perfect! Judith is an excellent host!

Perfect location, very cozy appartment

We stayed here for thanksgiving, and it was perfect! The apartment was very clean and well equipped. We went hiking the first day, and were lucky enough to enjoy the next day skiing at Beech mountain resort, a short walk from the apartment. Also, there were several good dining options in short distance from the apartment.

The inside of the condo is very quaint, clean and cozy. The outside was a bit scary as the buildings are in rough shape and this condo is on the bottom. If you arrive at night it's hard to see as the lights didn't come on. But for a quick stay it was good stay.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway

My wife and I wanted a quick getaway for our wedding anniversary and were definitely not disappointed. The condo was clean and super close to all of Beech Mountains amenities. Judith was super communicative and gave us the "inside scoop" on all the neat places to see. Looking forward to our next stay!

Very Relaxing

I am a stay at home wife and mom of two, in the process of finishing my business degree and also in the process of moving/building our home. So to say my life gets a little hectic and stressful is an understatement lol my sweet husband sent me on a weekend getaway by myself to refresh and relax, and it was wonderful! The condo is so cute and has a very homey feel. The condo building itself is a little dated, but Judith's place is updated and was extremely clean. Judith went above and beyond with communication, letting me know of events and attractions near by, and the check in process was very simple. Definitely enjoyed my stay and would love to come back someday!

Fantastic place on Beech Mountain

This property is renovated inside and is lovely. The bed was so comfortable! I usually have a hard time sleeping away from home and this was so comfy and I slept so well. The location is fantastic and is so close to anything on the mountain. Everything is ready for you and Judith is an amazing host. She offered great suggestions of things to do and was excellent at communicating with me. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in Beech Mountain!!!

Cute, Clean and Convenient to Ski Resort

We stayed one night and walked to a concert at the Beech Mountain Ski Resort. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. You can walk to the ski resort in 5 minutes. The owner is very friendly and responsive.

Very Disappointed

On the positive side, the condo itself (not including the deck) was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed for a brief stay. On the flip side, the property was in a very run down resort community with a lot of construction going on. The photos provided would lead you to believe there’s a nice view of the mountains, but this is definitely NOT the case. All you could see was the building across the street. The unit is on what is called the first floor, but to enter you have to go down both a ramp and stairs, making it feel like a closed in, basement unit. Definitely not an ideal situation for anyone with mobility issues. Suggest that the owner provide more accurate photos of the outside/entry to the unit, the view, and mention that it is not appropriate for anyone with mobility limitations. We would definitely not stay here again.
