If you are booking through VRBO you need to follow the rules about the number of guests for the stay based on the house and VRBO rules. I don't care about extra guests as you were told. But once you were informed about that, there was a barrage of messages from you accusing of various random things which we felt was just to get a refund after your stay. I'm sorry but we don't tolerate that and that's why we reported it to VRBO. Any legitimate concerns by guests we address as soon as we can. The home was also left extremely dirty. Please don't put others through this experience.

Hi Crystal, During bad weather, as was the case during your stay - the filter does have to be on per our instructions. We were unfortunately unable to get any response from you on the VRBO app. I understand from the VRBO agent you had difficulty accessing the app to communicate with us. In future, please contact the hosts via phone if the app is not working as it is important to keep the lines of communication open. This is our primary home, not a full rental, so we do use the fridge but we ensure there is at minimum a full half of the fridge and freezer available during any guest's stay. I hope you were able to enjoy the property's lakeside view and serenity during your time. Thanks for your review.

Hi James, It is unfortunate I did not receive any communication during your stay to indicate any issues. I would recommend in future, message the host and let them know specific concerns and the hosts can address them. You can see from previous reviews this has not been an issue. We have local, professional cleaners come in before/after each stay. As indicated in our post the house is our home, (not an investment property) so the fridge does have 1 drawer we use (mainly for condiments) and the rest of the space is clean for our guests. As this is a lakeside property there will always be bugs/spider webs outdoors regardless of cleaning/spraying during the summertime. You'll notice within 24 hours of cleaning them they are back. In future I do suggest communicating with the hosts so we can help resolve issues or help set expectations for your guests during a lakeside home stay.

I wanted to give this review some time before responding to verify any issues listed. We have 2 young kids that live here so news of rodents was shocking. I gave it some time to see if they had entered the home when a door might have been left open during your stay - but I have yet to see any mice. We have left mice bait and it has remained untouched. In future I would suggest you contact the host with such an issue so they can address it versus after the stay. Regarding the cleanliness, we always ask our guests to let us know of any issues right away so it can be addressed by the cleaning folks. There is plenty of towels and pool towels as well as kitchen items for the number of guests that is registered to stay at the home. We do not provide those items for visitors or others unfortunately. We ask if you need anything further to bring those with you. I would also suggest that you reach out to the hosts before your stay if you are in need of extra items as most times we can accommodate that without putting items away. Examples are extra kitchen items, baby beds etc.
