I would not recommend spending your money on this property. Upon arrival, we found the lawn was severely overgrown. After putting my foot down, the owner did have someone mow. Inside, the house had a strong musty odor. There was a persistent chirping sound—similar to a smoke detector with a dead battery—made it difficult to sleep. After multiple messages to the owner, I was instructed to search the basement for a sensor to silence it. The basement was dark, cold, and in poor condition, with a deteriorating ceiling. I never found the sensor, and the noise continued throughout our stay. The home was poorly stocked with towels. Or where you would expect to find towels. We would have washed the ones we used, but the washer wouldn’t drain and despite repeated assurances from the owner, it was never repaired. The dryer wouldn’t heat. We ended up using a laundromat. Eventually, we were directed to a cluttered closet where towels were stored in a filing cabinet lying on its side among scattered sheets, pillows, toys, and other items. The oven was filthy! We found drawers containing personal items such as used toothbrushes and partially used toiletries, and overall cleanliness was lacking. The pool was another major disappointment. AFTER booking, we were informed it would not be operational. The water was green, covered with scum, surrounded by weeds, and the area appeared neglected. Even the sunset photo with Adirondack chairs shown in the listing is actually from next door.
