Cedar Nook is a charming farm cottage with panoramic mountain views. Observe cattle on pasture, watch crop harvest in season, or just relax inside or on the porch. A grove of cedar trees give privacy from the nearby road, but you can hear traffic - especially the farm trucks and tractors as they go by. The cottage is 6 miles from Interstate 81, and 5 miles from Bridgewater, a college town featuring many services and supplies plus fine parks.
The cottage is 14 feet wide and the length is 28 feet. Wide doorways and a ramp from the parking area to the porch make the downstairs wheelchair friendly. The first floor is approved as a residence and the upstairs is approved by zoning regulations for storage.

This cottage was a great place to have a quiet retreat. Close drive to both smaller and larger area towns. Beautiful country road drives and close to the interstate if desired. All immenties I required for cooking were onsite. Ferne was a great host. Showed us around and answered questions upon arrival. She has created a large binder that provides all kinds of information about the surrounding areas. Front porch views from the swing were relaxing. Would definitely recommend if you want to get away from it all and slow down a beat.

This cabin and host are fantastic. Perfect location for things around Harrisonburg and Staunton. Ferne and family are very gracious host. The cabin was stocked with anything we could never need and back ups of things if we forgot something. Beautiful view from the porch swing. Highly recommend!

This is a perfect little slice of Shenandoah Valley vistas heaven! Gorgeous sunrises start your day with a perfect perch to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee on the front porch. Lovely plays of light lay across the fields as the sun sets with almost as much beauty and color as the sunrise. All the comforts of home with a thoughtfully provisioned kitchen and perfectly appointed bathroom. Great pillows, soft sheets and a just right quilt make for a restful and restorative night’s sleep. Our host was so warm and welcoming and makes you feel right at home. We are already dreaming of our next visit.

Relaxing in the Shenandoah Valley

A great location for sightseeing Stauton and Harrisburg area. Convienent to hiking in The George Washington & Jefferson National Forest. The cottage is well stocked and the host was very friendly and accommodating. We greatly enjoyed our four days
