Tahoe Donner Family Cabin 2 bedroom + huge loft

Are you ready for winter? The first snow has fallen and Tahoe Donner is the perfect place to enjoy everything that Tahoe has to offer! This wonderful Tahoe Donner cabin is perfect for families! Located on a quiet street just a few minutes from the Tahoe Donner ski hill and the world class cross country center. Our nearby rec center is open year round including a lap pool with heated deck and hot tubs. For dining and shopping you'll want to explore historical downtown Truckee. Tahoe Donner also has it's own fine dining at the Lodge restaurant.

The Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook family meals. Downstairs you'll find two bedrooms each with a queen bed. The updated kitchen along with the dining and living room offer a great space for families to hang out comfortably. There is also a full bathroom with bathtub/shower and washer/dryer. Upstairs is a huge loft with one king bed, three twin beds and a smart TV. There is also 2nd full bathroom with tub/shower.

High speed WIFI is available. There are two WIFI enabled smart TVs. One upstairs in the loft and one down in the living room. This is a great set up for families. Kids can watch movies or play games in the loft while parents have the lower level.

The property is located in the Tahoe Donner resort area and six guest passes are available for access to the recreation center, pools/hot tubs, and marina. Blackout dates apply for holiday weekends and xmas week. There is a guest fee for amenities. See the Tahoe Donner website or ask your host for more information.

Excellent home, warm and cosy. The upstairs loft is perfect for younger ones to hang out and play (and has 3-4 beds as well) and the main level has a nice fireplace, bedrooms. Great location, close to the rec center and the Tahoe Donner ski area. Excellent hosts, very clear communication , polite and inviting.

Too short of a stay

We really enjoyed our three short nights. The house was clean, checkin was easy, and it had everything we needed. Loved the neighborhood and can’t wait to return!

Wonderful place to get away!

We spent Thanksgiving here and it was amazing. The cabin was cozy, clean and perfect for the three day trip. The kitchen was well equipped so we could cook our holiday dinner and the loft was the perfect space for games/activities. Overall we had a blast!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin with plenty of room upstairs for the kids to have their own space. It was very spacious and comfortable.

Great for our family

We enjoyed our stay here. The host was responsive and accommodating and the house was great for our family of 4. Even though they have 2 bedrooms downstairs, we all slept in the loft which was fun. Also the surrounding snow was fun for our kids (both under 8).

We had a great family vacation. We took the grandkids and kids to Donner for the day and we were able to hang out in the nice warm house while the kids played in the snow when we were at the house. The host was exccellent about replying and the loft was so fun for the kids all to be able to sleep in the same room but with their own beds.

Great Location

House has lots of space, in a nice neighborhood, convienient for snow sports. Internet is a little bit slow to keep teenagers satisfied during the breaks between outdoor fun but otherwise wonderful place.

A great winter stay in Truckee

This was a multi-family trip over the MLK weekend in January. We had great, clear communication with Ellen and Sonja before and during our stay. The home was very clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with all the basic supplies for easy meal preparation. This home is clearly well-loved and cared for. We'd highly recommend this property for anyone looking for an easy stay the the Tahoe region.

Donner Lake /close by

Property worked out well for our family to enjoy visiting , board games and cooking dinners . There were only four total for this trip but you could enjoy with more people if needed . Very quiet neighborhood off the main streets. 5 minutes away from Trout Creek rec center and only 10 min to Donner Lake to enjoy the docs and sitting in the sun Property Mgr was quick to respond with any questions . Good stay

Weekend in the Snow

We stayed at the house over a very snowy weekend and really liked it. It has an old-fashioned cabin-in-the-woods charm to it, but the kitchen and baths have been updated and work well. There are a lot The owners were very effective at communicating with us. It was a very good experience.

Perfect place for big group of kids

We took 7 teenagers up to ski and this house was perfect. The loft area had plenty of beds, tv and bathroom. They were all able to be together and have their own space. The kitchen is well equipped and the stove facing the dining area allowed for more socializing while we prepared meals. The location is also ideal. Very quick drive to deli which was surprisingly well stocked and had decent prices. 10 min drive into town and the ski resorts were also less than 20 min drive.

A nice place to stay in

We stayed here for two nights on a ski trip. This place is conveniently located near quite a few ski resorts. The house is nice and warm, ideal for winter. There are two things that are not perfect. 1. Whether/how to use the garage is a little confusing. But we figured it out. 2. Kids complained about spiders on the upper floor. But they managed the problem. Overall, we enjoyed the stay.

Tahoe Donner Fun!

This property is close to all sorts of snowy fun! We have little ones who are alittle young to ski but we went to the snow play area twice and had a blast! We built a snowman on the property. This property has plenty of room for us and our grandkids’ family. Comfortable beds! There were board games- we played CandyLand with my 4 yr old grandson! What a wonderful stay we had! When we first arrived, the power had been out and the WiFi was not working. But with help from the owner- we texted back and forth - we were able to reboot the WiFi and it work! So Helpful!

Great location for access to Northstar

Wonderful place, we hit the 4th of July extreme heatwave and the cabin maintained 80’s until midnight with windows open and very difficult to cool in day as it does not have A/C which is the one star reduction since we paid a premium for the space that accepts a dog, very responsive contact/owner. Very nice and a great place otherwise. The pool which was not important to us, through located at a community center that also requires a fee to my understanding. Neighborhood was quiet, safe and pleasant. To be clear our heat wave was triple digits Bay Area and Sac and high 80’s and low 90’s in Truckee during our stay so the temps were certainly above the norm. Not sure if A/C is typically needed but it was for this specific weekend as even Caltrans posted heat warnings. Suggestion for the homeowner would be to add a couple additional electric fans available for cooling for these limited circumstances as there was only one, but very glad there was one!
