Recharge at The City Escape, a relaxing retreat built in the 1960s. Conveniently located just outside of downtown in a upcoming, historic neighborhood, our apartment offers easy access to many of Dallas’ favorite hotspots, making it the perfect base for both exploration and relaxation. Expect original foundation and layout. As a thank-you for booking, guests receive a free coffee at Toasted Coffee Shop, plus complimentary admission to the award-winning Dallas Arboretum.

We take pride in hosting our guests; therefore our apartments are up-to-date with city inspections.

Also, our apartments are serviced on a regular basis for pest control. However, we are located in the great state of Texas, and as guests enter and exit the apartment or building bugs can come in from the outside, this doesn't happen often, but want our guests to be aware.

Looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Global Cup — the world’s biggest soccer tournament!

Easy check-in/out. Clean, quiet, and easy to find. The gate was open as others noted but the property is tucked away with parking behind the building so it felt safe. Host answered questions really quick. The arboretum was beautiful, loved that it was included with the rental :) Thank you!

Overall stay was great. The outdoor pool was wonderful. The place was clean and our Host was super responsive. We had a few hiccups once we arrived with low water pressure for the whole building and an AC fight with the high heat but Vera responded immediately and had someone working on it with 30 minutes. We loved the quiet space and no neighbor noise. A plus to having a quiet time hour set each night. The area wasn’t super close to anything we felt we could walk to, but it was easy enough to get were we needed to be. Would definitely stay again!

Great Stay

I was a little nervous at night because the gate entrance was open the whole time we stayed due to construction next door. Other than that, great stay. Communication as great, free parking spot, cozy home.

New Years Stay

This property was a decent value stay. Everything was cleanly upon arrival, and the stay was spacious. Enjoyed the extending couch for relaxing and watching tv. The apartment had a couple of maintenance issues - a broken lamp, shaky stool, and a tub drain that didn't work well. Bought groceries and cooked in the kitchen with no problem. The building itself is solid, and not too loud in a very residential area. It was a nice place for a quiet stay.

Did the job

The apartment did the job. Kitchen was sparsely stocked for plates etc. The entry door needs a deadbolt or something more than the electric lock once your in the unit. We slept with the coffee table against the entry door just in case someone opened our unit.

Nice get away

I surprised my husband with tickets to see a comedian. The house was just right for the two of us. There is a lot of construction going on, but didn't bother us. They are building those townhomes that they are building everywhere. The free tickets to the arboretum were a nice touch. It was a lovely place to walk around and take pictures. Also there was an eclipse during our stay so that was neat. The place was close to downtown, so we took an uber to go to the show, just $8. Overall I would book here again.

Decent location

This is an upstairs unit and the only working porch lights are at either end of the porch. Parking is very tight with a full size vehicle. The shower was messed up and neither of the " beds" are very comfortable. They did have an air mattress in the closet. It was pretty easy to find and the neighborhood was not too bad. I probably won't stay again but might be great if you like firm beds and don't leave at night.

Dallas stay

We arrived to an unlocked, open door, with the TV going. I went in and looked around. I wasn't sure what was going on. The place looked occupied, yet empty. We left immediately and called the owner. She replied the next day. We cancelled our stay and received a full refund.

The city escape

The hosts were very quick to respond to us when we had questions. A few things I did notice were the gates did not close in the parking lot the entire time we were, the carpet was torn in the bedroom and there was missing floor pieces under the torn carpet. While the apartment its self was nice enough on the outside was not what we were expecting. So If you are planning on staying here it is more of a sleep and go type of property. The location was good.

Small but Satisfying

Booking & Communication with the host was extremely easy and quick. The apartment was equipped with everything that was needed and check-in/check-out super simple. The neighborhood roads are all under construction (the entire dallas area) so it's bumpy with potholes. The entrance gate seems to be open on the weekend but locked during the week. The exit gate is always open. We attended a Volleyball Tournament at the convention center, easy 10min away - there was lots of eatery around and things to do were within 15min drives. I would stay here again for sure. Thank you! - Desi
