Welcome to Cottage by the Caverns! A completely renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in the heart of Luray, Virginia. Your family and friends will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located cozy home.

THE LOCATION:
★ 5 min from Luray Caverns
★ A beautiful bike ride to town or walk!
★ 15 min drive to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive
★ Bike or walk to plenty of dining and shopping options!
★ 5 min from Lake Arrowhead!

★ Cozy getaway but still close to everything to allow you to experience the true Luray, VA.
★ 2 outdoor seating areas with a large 6-person fire pit area out back.
★ Fully fenced in back yard for privacy and enjoyment
★ Extremely fast Wi-Fi as one of the few homes in the area with Wi-Fi 6 from Xfinity
★ 60” Smart TV with all the apps you would need

Checking In:
★ We try to make check in as easy as possible with a smart lock that will send you a personal code for the duration of your stay. No waiting for us to let you in, you can simply come and go as you please!
★ All Linens will be on beds, towels cleaned and ready for your use.
★ We provide one roll of TP in each bathroom, 2 towels for each bed, one paper towel roll, detergent pods for the dishwasher, and the basics for your showers!

YOUR STAY:
★ Our goal with this home is to allow you to truly experience and enjoy all that Luray has to offer with a short distance to travel. This beautiful small town has a multitude of delicious eats and places to visit, and we wanted to provide a centrally located place for you to experience it all and have a cozy home base to escape to.

★ We have recommendations in our guest book provided and plenty of menus in the kitchen from local shops that we have enjoyed eating/ drinking at in Luray. Please let us know if you have any questions about the area while you’re there!

Checking Out:
★ Our simple checkout process is just to give our cleaners a bit of an easier task. All we ask is to turn off lights, run the dishwasher/ wash any dishes, place the ac or heat back to the original setting if adjusted, lock all doors, move furniture back to where it was previously located if moved, and most of all drive safely.

We loved our stay over NYE and the town of Luray had a great fireworks celebration. The dogs loved the backyard!

What a great stay! The property is beautiful, comfortable, and as listed. We had a hiccup opening the door when we first arrived but our host responded immediately and we had no issues afterwards. If we visit Luray again, we definitely hope to stay here.

The house was incredibly clean and easy to access. The backyard was a lovely space for our dog to explore. Our 4 year old son absolutely loved the firepit and making s’mores.

Check in process and communication was smooth. HOWEVER, big issues with cleanliness and house flies. There were at least 13-14 house flies inside the first night that we got rid of. Secondly everything was dirty and covered with dust and white hair. Stains on couch and chairs. The bed sheets were similarly covered in dust and white hair. Towels had stains. We actually washed the towels before using them. After I reported it the owners/managers said they would have the linens changed. When we returned after the day out all the linens were exactly as we had left them. The ironing Stains was crooked and unsteady. This was our first and likely last booking with vrbo. The owners were responsive which I appreciate but unfortunately failed to deliver on basic cleanliness.

We enjoyed the location as we were mainly visiting Shenandoah National Park and it was an easy drive to one of the entrances, at Thornton's Gap. That being said, there were also things to visit and do in Luray like the Luray Caverns- a must see. The cottage was clean and well suited for our needs as we cooked dinner meals a few nights during our stay. Having the fire pit and outdoor area for the evening was a bonus. The hosts communicated quickly.

Host was absolutely amazing! I asked for some suggestions regarding hiking and got a quick response with an amazing list of hikes , this near the property, and restaurants. Then I was confused about check out (my fault not their’s) and got another immediate response with super clear instructions. The property was great, the distance to restaurants and coffee were a bit off but nothing that was problematic. Highly recommended!

The house is beautifully decorated and so comfortable. There were some games and puzzles for the kids and a cozy backyard to have a bonfire. Communication was easy and responses were quick. Definitely recommend!

Family trip to Luray Caverns

The home was perfect for our quick family getaway. It was just as pictured, very clean, and had everything we needed. I think our favorite part of the whole trip was hanging out in the backyard on our last night - the big maple tree provided so much shade in the hot afternoon and the string lights were a nice touch while we made s'mores in the firepit at night. There's a great paved and divided pedestrian trail across the street that was perfect for taking the dog out for a walk in the morning and would be great for little ones too. Also, the hosts were excellent communicators. We would absolutely stay there again!

My family of four loved staying at Cottage by the Caverns. My sons could each have their own room, and all of our beds were comfortable. I cooked one meal there, and the kitchen had everything I needed. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the mornings with our coffee while watching the birds.The house was easy to find, and it was close to Luray Caverns and the different restaurants we went to. I would recommend this place to others.

Overnight Trip

Mom and I went on a short overnight trip to Luray and this house was perfect! It was clean and the beds were comfortable. When we got there the electronic door lock wouldn’t let us in. Sent Stephanie a message and she responded within 10 minutes and reset it! Would definitely recommend due to the house being outside of town to avoid any noise but still close enough to get to town and the caverns.

The house was clean with a nice backyard for family of four to enjoy. The local playground was a bonus and all the Luray features were super close.
