À propos de l’hôte
Hôte : Lara Thomas
I currently work in Fire Mitigation, am a volunteer firefighter, and a bartender on the side. I have also worked as a Park Ranger at Pike's Peak, Earth Science high school teacher, and a wrangler for dude ranches so I've been all over the place! I am passionate about animals, ecology, and working with people. I enjoy hosting people at my property and learning about what brings them to Colorado.
I live in the second floor of this house, and will come and go for work. I am generally quiet and try to be respectful of my guest's space & privacy. My usual mode is to let guests reach out to me when they need anything so that they can determine the amount of interaction they want from me as their host.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement
I purchased this home in 2020 as my first home. I had been teaching in Denver for 6 years, and when the pandemic hit I felt like this was the time to return to my country roots and switch to working in natural resources. When I bought this home, the upstairs was finished and the downstairs was completely unfinished down to the studs (ask if you want to see photos of the before and after!) I spent my first 2 years in Teller County completing the first floor and cleaning up the exterior of the property so that I could run this rental to help with my living costs. I did most of the work myself excluding the plumbing (my dad helped me) and electrical (professional help).
I have a lot of respect for the previous home owner for the custom woodworking he did throughout the upstairs of the home, and I have tried to incorporate some of that in the area I finished. I personally feel there is a lot of healing and peaceful energy on this property due to the love, attention to detail, and care myself and the previous owner have invested here.
I love that my property is set a bit back from the road so that it feels private, but it's still pretty close to town for work. I enjoy all the wildlife that visits the property, especially because there is a meadow down below that attracts the deer and elk.
There is a fire pit and a greenhouse that you are welcome to use.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique
The views are unbeatable from this property, and the sunset on the mountain looks a little different everyday. I have lived here 3 years and the views can still take my breath away when the light is just right.
Rocky Mountain living is magical - from the delicate wildflowers in the summer to waking up to a quiet blanket of snow on a winter morning.
The neighborhood is quiet, and you can walk around the dirt roads without running into many cars or people. The locals in Florissant are friendly and helpful, but also respect each other's privacy.
This property is pet friendly, and we have a fenced dog yard that connected to the fenced patio so that your furry friend can enjoy the outdoors and stay safe. There is a lot of space for parking (4 cars easily can fit), and a carport that can house two cars.
This rental includes a kitchenette but not a full kitchen. For cooking, there is a outdoor grill, microwave, toaster oven, and a wood fired stove (that guest are welcome to cook on top of). There is no washer/ dryer unit included in this rental, so guests will need to use a laundromat for laundry.
For stays more than 5 days, I am able to convert one of the bedrooms into an office (desk, office chair, lamp). I have spare dog beds, pet bowls, cat litter boxes, etc available upon request.
The greenhouse is productive from mid may through October, and there are plenty of fresh herbs, lettuce, spinach, and other produce for sharing.
This booking is not appropriate for late night partying, and we do ask guests to respect quiet hours after 10pm. This booking is also not appropriate for pets that are aggressive, bark excessively, or unattended for long periods.
The internet is Starlink, which is high speed satellite internet. I upgraded to Starlink when I was working from home during the pandemic and have been really happy with it as it allows for fast uploads and downloads for my work.
