Make this that " remember that time we stayed at Schuss vacation"
You will be able to ski, take breaks and ski to your door. Open Summer and Winter only.
( 3 )two bedrooms with slope views and (4) one bedrooms. All are ski in ski out. We wanted to keep some of the history by keeping the name, The Ski Shop Lodges!
This one boasts:
1 bedrooms with KING bed and brand new mattress
futon for child or small adult
1 Sofa sleeper
1 full bathroom with a walk in shower
**Heated tile floors throught out will give you that "homelike cozy feeling"
FULLY stocked kitchen

Stayed for three nights. Condo was nice and clean. We traveled with our boat, so it was perfect to have an area to park the boat. Easy drive to Torch Lake and surrounding towns. Enjoyed the Shanty Creek resort area.

Clean, comfortable, and everything you need! We spent most of the time on our boat on Torch Lake, but this was a wonderful place to come back to at the end of each day. Short walk to the pool which the kids loved, and ground floor was super convenient. Would stay again!

Our daughter is studying at the Au Sable Institute this summer and Schuus Mountain village was a close location so we could see her. We appreciated the comfortable accommodations.

Property was very clean and modern. Pool and hot tub located behind the building. Bed was comfortable and a/c was perfect. We enjoyed downtown for dinner and the Lakeview Restaurant had amazing views and a breakfast buffet.

Very clean and updated, beautiful condo. Easy to communicate with host. Listing was confusing stating there was a pool and even our conformation stated where the pass was and we would be charged if lost but the night before our stay I asked how close the pool was and the host said it was closed for the season. Although she offered a refund or a pass to a resorts pool a few miles away it was disappointing because it was one of the reasons i chose the vrbo. I wish the listing would be advertised differently. Since we have family in the area we would definitely stay here again

This place was perfect for our stay. Myself, 3 kids, and my sister stayed here for the weekend. 10/10 would rent again. The condo was goegeous, clean, and updated. Connie was the absolute nicest host and so accommodating.

Cozy Stay

We came to Mancelona for a wedding and booked this place to stay in. It was perfect. Simple, nice, cozy and clean. We are definitely booking again for winter to explore the surrounding area.

very clean and nice stay

Room is clean and spacious for a one bedroom. Great place to stay...view out window is not much and could use a tv in the bedroom. But with that said it was perfect for our use and a nice place to stay. Highly recommend.

Clean and easy check in/out

The property was exactly as pictured in the listing. Newly renovated with just the right amount of comfort to make you feel at home. Loved that daily necessities such as laundry soap, trash bags, etc were available for use during my stay. I've stayed at other units throughout Shanty Creek and this unit is one of my new favorites. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Schuss State Meet 2023

This property was perfect. Location; walked right out to the chair lifts. It sits in front of Kingdom Come. Cleanliness was the best. Everything was there we needed for one night. You could not ask for a better host; she was on site that day and stopped by to see how we were and if we needed anything. Connie is the best host. Highly recommend these condos.

Some Good, Some Bad

The listing and pictures are very accurate and it was clean. It wasn't abundantly clear that the view from this room is of the parking lot, not the mountain. It is located at the base of the hill, but is a couple of hundred yard walk to the blue chair lift. We've previously stayed at Cedar River which is much more convenient for ski in/ski out. Everything is new but had a "cold" feel, more like corporate housing than a vacation rental. The "heated floors" never got warm so pack slippers. When we arrived (in February) the heat was off and it was 58 degrees - a rude surprise coming in from the cold, to a frigid room. Made for a horrible first impression. The bed/pillows were some of the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced and walls predictably thin so pack earplugs if noisy neighbors bother you. No issues during stay (expect as noted by housekeeping the cupboard door was falling off). Appreciate the American Flag but the stars are upside down. :-(

I am very sorry this guest did not have a 5 star stay at our condo. The listing will be made clearer that there is not a view of the mountain from the condo but it is ski in ski out. The view from the door is a courtyard between the other complex next door. You can ski into your door if there is enough snow. I was not notified at any time during their stay that the heated floors were not working. The thermostat is on the wall and just needed to be turned up. The cupboard door had broken just prior to their arrival and did not have adequate time to repair however this should not have impacted their stay. I am sorry this is not your style. It is modern with modern finishes. It is grey with white trim and stainless steel appliances. Cedar River will cost twice as much but that is a personal preferece. I will check the pillows. We use hotel quality from Sams club. I am picky about my pillows as well and usually bring my own if I am worried about it. Please do not let this 3 star review deter you from choosing this condo or please ask questions prior to booking. We do strive for everyone to have a 5 star experiece.
