Walking distance to grocery, shops, breweries, and restaurants. This apartment offers 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen, dining area and gathering space. You will have views of the Custer downtown area, perfect for parades on 4th of July and Gold Discovery Days. Free parking and free EV Charging for convenience.

This loft is located above the South Dakota Outdoor Shop, that offers all your gear to get outside and explore. Large windows offer views for the 4th of July Parade and Gold Discovery Days Parade.

The apartment is private for our guest. The back patio offers outdoor seating and a climbing wall.

We are available by phone or text.

Extremely safe and fun environment! 3 stop lights in town means less traffic and the outdoor activities are endless in any season!

We recommend a vehicle for touring the Black Hills area.

The location is spot on within walking distance to shops and restaurants! I’d say the apartment had everything we needed but would have been nice to have an ottoman to put your feet up. I noticed the floor was sticky so I used the mop on hand because floor was very dirty other than that everything was great.

Stop 2 of our two week road trip from Ohio to Washington

Great location for everything we wanted to see in the area! It had everything we needed for our two night stay. Only complaint is the walls were very thin.

Great vacation rental in the middle of everything!

It was a very nice place to stay in downtown Custer, close to Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, , Jewel Cave Monument, and easy to get to all the Black Hill’s destinations.

Clean, well appointed and perfect location! We really enjoyed our stay here for our trip to explore the Black Hills. The coffee pot was a big perk for us and made our stay more comfort. We were also very grateful for the state park pass, which we used twice! Very impressed with our accommodations!

Apartment looks good in pictures, but it fails in function. When we arrived, we wanted to make a cold drink but had no ice maker and no ice cube trays-- no way to make ice in the freezer. So we went to the bedroom to unpack, but there are no drawers, no closet, no hangers and no hooks -- no place at all for clothes. Bedroom is so small that suitcases need to be kept under the bed. Kitchen has almost no counter space, and only one shelf of dishes-- 4 plates, 4 bowls. 4 cups, period. It was difficult to bake anything since the only bake wear was one cookie sheet. Cabinets are nearly empty, except for a couple of plastic bowls. The amenities listed laundry facilities, but when questioning the host, we were told it was a mistake and that we should go somewhere else -- they would graciously not charge an early departure fee. Trying to live there for three days was a challenge. If you are a minimalist, this place is for you.

This charming 2nd story apartment was the perfect spot for my trip. The unit was comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. While I had a little trouble operating the mini split (seemed to have a mind of its own).. it wasn’t really needed since I was not in the nit, much, and it was fall so I just kept the bedroom window open with the fan and that was more than sufficient. The bottles of water and snacks were welcome surprise and so appreciated after arriving late at night on my checkin day. The personal care items were also nice touch. The kitchen was very modestly stocked with cooking utensils or any storage items. So if you’re planning on cooking much, be advised that you’re not going to be able to prepare or store much. It all worked out for me. I bought some Ziploc baggies, aluminum foil and had brought my own collapsible silicone food storage containers so that was helpful. The place was quiet. But truly, the best feature was that downtown Custer is such a cute & quaint little town. It was really close to the state park, Hollingsworth horses where I did some horseback riding and some really good restaurants within walking distance. It’s also super close to the chamber of commerce, skywalk and big rock trail (a MUST do short hike!) I would highly recommend staying here and if I ever go back to Custer, I will definitely rebook with Candace and her bison lofts.

It was a great location!! We liked being able to walk tothe shops and restaurants. It’s close to Custer State park and all the other sites! We very much enjoyed our stay! However when I booked it I thought it had 2 bedrooms. It had only one and the sofa bed. We made it work and a fun stay!

Clean & convenient

The property was very clean and had all amenities that one would need for a short or longer stay. It was conveniently located in downtown close to all the restaurants and bars. Parking was not an issue even though it was Gold Discovery Days. There was also a Custer State Park pass that was avaliable for use. Would definitely stay there again.

It was right on mainstreet which was nice for walking everywhere. There were a few things that seemed broken and the mattress on the pull out couch was terrible, thus the 4 star rating. Kitchen was fairly well stocked.

Great Location

The apartment was fantastic. Great location, right in Custer. We loved the town. Great food & friendly people. Of course proximity to Custer Sate Park, Wind Cave as well as many other things we wanted to see and explore. We fell in love with the area and will definitely be making a return trip in the future!

Great Location!! Quant little place!! Had everything we needed!! Clean!! Had all the cleaning supplies if needed!! Parking was abundant!! Nice to be able to walk to stores,restaurants, ice cream shops!! We were in town for the Buffalo Round up in Custer State Park and The Annual Volksmarch at Crazy Horse Monument!! THANKS AGAIN !! Restaurants very close. We walked. Room is great for 2 people. 2 kids could sleep on the pullout couch. Appreciated the smart tv. There is a hair dryer . No laundry. Base camp is a good name for it. A place to flop after a day outside. Nice mattress. Beautiful murals on doors. I felt safe as it was right next to a bank and I noticed a police car in adjacent parking lot.

Very nice apartment - GREAT location

The apartment unit was very nice - decent size, clean, and well appointed. Our only issue was that the walls are definitely a bit thin - we could hear a lot from the units on both sides. Communication with the property manager could have been a bit better (no street address provided, no communication during our stay, and a request to provide our departure time long after we'd departed), but that was pretty minor. Overall a very good stay - would recommend.
