Great location to several wineries, hiking trails & the Tunnel Hill bike trail. Wonderfully secluded. The cabin feels so homey. Kitchen is well stocked...enjoyed several meals there. Charcoal grill was perfect for steaks & roasted marshmallows! Enjoyed so much!!

The Treehouse was excellent. Derrick was a great host and even left some fresh roast coffee for us to sample. The proximity to state parks and the wine trail make a spot we would be happy to return to again!!

This is an amazing place. The veiws and quiet was wonderful. Close to all the wineries. And the treehouse was amazing. The wood uses on the inside was just unbelievable. The host made us feel like we were in our own home with the Christian music playing upon arrival. I couldn't have asked for better.

The treehouse was such a cute place to stay! We highly recommend it and Derick was a great host. It had everything we needed for our getaway to Giant City State Park.

Exactly as advertised for sure. We were there for 5 days and didn't see or hear anything or anyone except for the places we went. Overall it was a great experience and as relaxing as we had hoped it would be. Cabin was clean and quaint, perfectly put together. Flame bar and grill in Carbondale has THE BEST STEAKS!Thanks again to Derrick for our beautiful little trip.

Excellent Location!

Beautiful place! Right down the road to three of the major wineries on the Shawnee Wine Trail and with in 20 min or so of all the others. Great location, beautiful place!

We had not been to that part of Illinois so this was a new adventure. We loved the uniqueness, coziness, and solitude of the house and the many conveniences that were included. Great trip!

Treehouse

Location for a weekend on the wine trail was perfect. Although the spiral staircase is a bit cumbersome, we would definitely consider this location again for hiking and a weekend getaway!

Beautiful & peaceful

The cabin is amazing inside & out! Very clean and stocked with necessities. I loved sitting out on the deck enjoying the peaceful woods. The fire pit was great, also. Can't wait to come back!

Loved

The cabin was perfect! It was so nice waking up and looking out right out into the trees. It is a very peaceful getaway. We sat around the fire and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

What a Gem!

We had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary at the treehouse! Derick is an excellent host and you can tell he has put his heart into the property. We loved truly disconnecting and waking up in the woods. The treehouse was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our relaxing get away! We will definitely be back.

Quiet get-away

The house was quaint and delightful, creatively arranged. We enjoyed the stay…our age would probably keep us from returning. Navigating the circular staircase required extra care…but fun and innovative for younger folks. We had just a bit of a challenge in getting to the right place - the address given didn’t match the property, but was quickly resolved.We would recommend the location - lots to do in the area.

The Best Around

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights on our birthday weekend and Derick’s Secluded Treehouse was perfection!! It has a kitchen that is stocked with all the cookware, flatware, and silverware you could ever ask for, no need to bring anything like that with you. The bathroom, lounge area, and loft bedroom are comfortable and extremely cozy. If you’re a small group looking for a place to stay, look no further. Book with Derick, you won’t be disappointed!!

A Perfect Little Spot

Went for our 25th Anniversary. 4 nights, 5 days. It's EXACTLY as it's listed and photographed, plus so much more! Host put everything together so thoughtfully, and beautifully, down to the smallest detail. It felt like host thought of every little thing a guest could potentially need or want, and BOOM! Wish granted! And don’t get me started on the amazing fresh roasted coffee that host provides for each morning!! So great, top notch!! Cannot wait to go back! Thank you Derrick ❤️
