Our week at Sheryl's cabin in Grafton was beyond our expectations. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed not only the cozy cabin but also the beautiful, peaceful surroundings, especially having both the woods and the lake view all around us, We cooked all our simple meals there and usually enjoyed them on the attached screened porch. We are hikers and went out daily finding interesting places to hike.This is truly a wonderful find in the deep woods of the Mount Cardigan area.

The cabin was clean and inviting. Is a great get away for peace an quiet. Pond is great for paddle boarding or kayaking, and trails to hike. Allowed us to have a relaxing get away that was much needed. Would definitely go back.

Love love love this cabin. It was the prefect time of year. The foliage was gorgeous. The lake was gorgeous. The kayaking was wonderful. We found the face in the woods. The hosts were wonderful. Basically, i can't wait to go back!

I could not love this place more! I was looking for a quiet getaway and this cabin was perfect. Beautiful area, wonderful pond and dock area, the cabin itself was cozy with everything I needed. I love that the owners were nearby if I needed anything yet, far enough away to not be intrusive. Sheryl and Phillipe couldn't have been nicer. Hope to be back at some point!

This cottage is nicely furnished and comfortable. Be sure to read the owners' desriptions carefully, however, as it is on a steep hill surrounded by trees, up above Half Moon Pond.

Perfect weekend getaway

I loved this cabin so much I didn't want to leave! I'm an outdoor enthusiast, so this secluded and picturesque location was a perfect fit for me. I also really enjoyed kayaking on the pond and hiking the trails. Sheryl and Philippe were so nice and accommodating! And their cat is really cute too.

Jul 11-18 2026We loved this rustic-looking place (with modern and artsy touches) which I've been telling friends was a "tree-house cabin." The owners described it accurately, but good to read all the details regarding the drive up there. Note that the staircase to the second floor is on a steep pitch; also being in the foothills brought cooler nights, which was very welcomed. It's fifty steps to the dock/deck which is arranged very nicely. As I recall there are wooden railings down most of the stairs that lead to the water (not sure it's captured in the photo). Easy water access into the half-moon pond. We loved that many of the homes on the pond are set back from the shoreline preserving the natural look of the lake. We loved swimming and kayaking, and hiked into the no-name pond, which was a beautiful sprawling wetland pond. We gave up backpacking several years ago (age-related), but was glad to capture some the outdoor woodsy ambience that this cabin provided. We were fortunate to have a loon on the pond for several days of our stay.

The most beautiful cabin

This was simply perfect. We came to celebrate my partners birthday. A weekend away no kids no work no exes. Just peace and love. This cabin is incredible

Beautiful property perfect for our women's weekend. Owner is reslonsive and close by, but far enough away that it was private. Great hiking nearby. Loved kayaking on the pond. Nature walk, yoga and guided meditation in the morning was just what we needed. Definitely recommend!!!

Awesome quiet getaway to nature

The cabin is a wonderful getaway in the woods on a beautiful quiet pond. Just a perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine on the dock, read a book and swim or kayak. The cabin is new, well stocked and has a screened porch for meals, puzzling or reading. Great fire pit (although we were there during a hot summer week). We will definitely be back. Lovely host!

Birthday weekend in the woods

We love NH, one of our favorite states. We were looking to be near a lake/water and this hit the spot. Private dock with kayaks just for us to use. From the moment we got there, it felt comfortable. The cabin was perfect, loved the special touches, such as the plants, and beautiful flowers welcoming us. We use vrbo a lot and I have to say this was one of the best ones, the owners made you feel welcome. Great place to unplug and enjoy nature.

Great Place to Unplug & Reset!

What a great little oasis in the woods & great place to reset from the day in and day out! Sheryl & Phil were great Hosts! Cabin was clean, well situated and all expectations were met, with eco friendliness in mind. With the attention to detail, history of construction and renters guide, you're sure to enjoy the great outdoors in a quite, remote location. Looking forward to a return visit, during more favorable weather to enjoy all Crescent Moon Cabin has to offer!

Getaway weekend

Definitely rural, make sure to read the listing instructions thoroughly before booking. Outdoor shower, non-flushing toilet, and water pressure come with the property but added to the adventure in our minds. Everything was very clean, we were comfortable throughout our stay because we were prepared based on the listing description!

Quiet and relaxing getaway

The cabin is secluded, clean, and well equipped. I stayed for three nights with my three sons ages 8 to 16. Even though it mostly rained we still had a great time watching movies, playing games, enjoying the fire pit, kayaking, and cooking our favorite meals. The rain kept us from doing much exploring through the trails around the woods, but we still had an enjoyable stay in the cabin. The hosts are lovely people. Cheryl baked us cookies.

Perfect nature getaway

We were two friends glamping and were very glad to discover the Crescent Moon, a beautiful and eco friendly cabin. This is a beautiful cabin in a remote area, perfect to enjoy the nature while being very comfortable. Its a recent construction and we can feel the love that has been put in the project. The spot will charm you with its perks and nicely furnished spaces, plus there is plenty of outside spots to hang out (most of them protected from mosquitos). Sheryl and Philippe did a wonderful work by building this little house that bounds perfectly with the environment, you won't regret visiting this gem!

Very private, clean. Compost toilet, with stool to climb up on, that host must enter cabin every 2 days to perform toilet maintenance. Did not see instructions anywhere upon arrival that we were to go to host’s home next door to pick up keys. Recommend that is stated on web site or displayed prominently upon entry. Screened in porch would be better utilized if comfortable outdoor lounge furniture was present. Internet only worked on porch for us. Otherwise nice cabin.

We are sorry that Crescent Moon Cabin did not meet your expectations. Had you read the listing thoroughly you would have had prior knowledge of all the amenities. In the welcome guide listed on our VRBO site it clearly states what your arrival instructions are. To come to the owners cabin for further toilet instructions. Also a type written laminated note is left on the counter with the kayak waivers that gives you instructions to come to owners cabin for keys and instructions. It is prominently displayed. It's unfortunate that you did not experience the serenity and peacefulness of Crescent Moon Cabin in all its fall foliage splendor. A lesson to all reading reviews. Read the listing thoroughly! We are proud of all of our 5 star reviews, 3 years running.

Away from it all!

This rustic cabin nestled into towering trees was a welcome retreat from a busy lifestyle. The back screened porch & an area midway to the lake was a safe zone from the mosquitoes. We also enjoyed the peaceful dock area & kayaking. The hosts were very hospitable & communication with them was easy. My only negative was that the toilet was not ideal. I appreciate the eco-friendliness of the cabin but I would’ve preferred a different option. But, I loved how close to nature I felt there. It was like we were a part of it. It was so quiet & serene. I’m glad we went.

Property was actually in far better condition than i was expecting. Everything was clean and spotless when I arrived. Check in was really simple. My only complaint about my stay had nothing to do with the property or the property manager. Just some bad luck with timing. One of the homes across the lake were doing construction. My second day was filled with banging and power tool sounds. Other than that it was peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed taking the kayak out on the lake. Sheryl even lent me a fishing pole when i mentioned i forgot to bring mine. Checking out was also very simple. I would definitely stay here again.
