Great, quiet place!

It was a great stay, and the kids loved it! Quiet neighborhood, with a cute little fenced in back yard! The shower was amazing, and the house is good sized! The owner was absolutely amazing, and super friendly! Answered all my questions quickly. Overall the place was great, and a great place for a family getaway! Thank you so much for opening your home to our family!

Amazing Home Close To NYC

Fantastic, comfortable home centrally located to so many awesome attractions. We were within an hour to TARRYTOWN, Sleepy Hollow and Cold Spring. So close to NYC, in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. Our hosts are awesome. Providing tons of amenities. We highly recommend this great property!!!

Great Communication

Our plans changed and we were unable to stay at Jennifer's house, but she was very responsive and helpful during the initial booking process. The house is in a good, safe location, close to family but unfortunately, I can't review the inside or the overall stay as we cancelled our booking before the trip.

Wedding weekend

We were here for a wedding weekend which had many events. It gave us a good base to regroup and get ready. We had one glitch where the original code did not work. The host was very responsive and we were able to get into the home quickly.

Not an Ideal Stay

Our stay unfortunately started off on a rocky foot. We arranged with the host to access the home an hour earlier so that we could check in and make it into the city for a wedding rehearsal. We arrived shortly after the 2pm time with no code to enter. After 2 attempts to contact the owner, I had to knock on two neighbors doors to see if anyone knew the owner, verify that it was legit and we were not scammed. After 30 minutes neighbors were able to help us contact them and she was very apologetic. We were quickly aware that the property was not as great as the listing and pictures suggest. The kitchen has a really nice renovation but the home is old and definitely needs more love. A strange baby toilet attachment to the bathroom toilet that you have to lift to get to the regular toilet seat, coloring or chalk on walls, SUPER creaky floors, etc., but the lager problem was the upper floor was easily a 100 degrees! Its an old home with no ventilation (in the summer) in an attic space and windows that do not function properly so you can't open them. It was after 9pm when we returned so we had to find the nearest target to buy fans so that kids could sleep comfortably because again, needed to get a hold of the homeowner. Then they put in a window unit. Only the tv in master worked after we replaced batteries, no other tv worked - they turn on but that's it. Exposed wall sockets where tv's are plugged is a massive hazard! OK stay not great, we made it work but it was uncomfortable.

I would like to address the following points you mentioned in your review: Although there was a complication with the check-in, we were able to remedy the situation immediately with the help of our neighbors. In regards to the toilet, we accommodate all families, which is why we offer a toilet attachment suitable for all guests. Given that you traveled with children, we believe this should not be a reason for complaint. Regarding the heat, while we have central AC, we cannot control the weather. We did our best to accommodate the situation by installing a window AC unit promptly to address the uncomfortable temperature. I would like to clarify that all TVs in the home work properly. We ensure that all electronic devices are in working order before our guests arrive, and any issues could have been resolved by simply pressing the power button. Additionally, as a host, I pride myself on assisting guests as best as I can, understanding that they are staying in a family home, not a hotel. It is very disappointing to receive this type of review after being available and accommodating throughout your entire stay. There were inconveniences caused by you as a guest, including the illegal use of our home's internet service and damaged towels that were claimed to be found in that manner yet were used. As a host, we work to make each stay as best as we can with what we offer. It is also important for guests to understand that they are staying in a family home. We value your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future under better circumstances. Warm regards
