Casa on the Red Cedar River

A unique, peaceful river front home property on the Red Cedar River. This is a walk out lower level Private unit. Lake Tainter merges into the Red Cedar at the dam site, and the Red Cedar river then merges with Lake Menomin. Walk out to your private patio overlooking the beautiful Red Cedar River. Spend time relaxing by the water, watching eagles fly overhead. Features an eagles nest on property. You will be able to find water access for the Red Cedar, Lake Tainter or Lake Menomin near by.
Extra unpaid guests are not allowed, if you want to edit your booking please do for before arrival, it is an additional $25 for each additional guest per night, it is our attempt to make the the pricing for one guest more affordable.

The stay was perfect, from the cleanliness of the space to the amenities provided, you couldnt ask for more. Our host was active in communication and was kind and flexible enough to assist us when we had some difficulties with booking specific dates. Highly recommended!

My elderly Mom & my Step-dad stayed
and one night my sister joined them. My Dad LOVED the River views. Getting down to River and back up was a bit of a challenge for all of us. We did it
but the “steps” and “railing” were definitely challenging. The property is beautiful. The accommodations were good. Our ONLY concern was that the “stairs” leading down to river deck were not well kept, had not been cleared, were uneven and a bit challenging to use.

Comfortable, restful, and convenient

We came for a family event in Dunn County, so the house in Menomonie was a good location. The property is lovely, with everything we needed. The table and chairs just outside the apartment were a great place to have coffee in the morning. We all enjoyed time on the deck by the river, and saw the eagle, and several other types of birds.

Beautiful house by the red cedar River with a dock to sit out by the river.

We came for a nearby wedding and really enjoyed our stay here They have everything you need and it's not too far from a Walmart and other areas that you might need for supplies. Peaceful and a little secluded and absolutely lovely We saw lots of wildlife and would like to come back someday.

We had a wedding on Saturday so we drove straight to the venue and didn’t get to the VRBO until after midnight. We checked out early the next day to get home. Beds were comfortable.

Enjoyed my stay

The property is in a quiet location that is not far from Menomonie. The furniture was comfortable and the place has a lot of little thoughtful touches. The property owner always responded quickly to my questions and was easy to work with. The view from the patio and from the deck on the river were great.

You can do better

This site is the lower level of a private home. It has very few kitchen items: hot plate not a stove, very little counter space. You will hear the owner moving about upstairs. Worst of all, is the owner thinks nothing of entering the rental area when you are gone. The entry is quite a distance over unpaved ground, part of which is not illuminated at night, unsafe if it has snowed or after heavy rain. Listing was for a 2 bedroom site but only one was available when we arrived. We had to request the owner unlock the 2nd bedroom

Stay at the Casa

Being on the Red Cedar River and hear the sound of the water was fantastic! However getting up and down the stairs to river side deck was challenging. Plan to stay again! Awesome weeks stay.

Did not realize when looking at photos that this property is a walk out basement with owner living above. With that said, it was private and quiet place to stay. Everything was acceptable and comfortable but cooking our meals was limited to a hot plate and microwave. The only negative comment is the access to the rental was not senior convenient to carry suitcases and walk on sloped ground. It was a good thing our grandson was there to carry them up to our car. Also the walk down to the river was also not doable for seniors. Great place for younger people.

Where the birds sing.

Property sits in the trees along the Red Cedar River. Host is easy to work with. She brings items to make your stay better. Plenty of deer in the evening.

Home away from home

We appreciated the lovely view of the river and the cozy accommodations as we were in town celebrating our daughter's graduation from UW-STOUT. It was only a 15-minute drive from campus and worked out well. Thank you, Trudy for making this a seamless process and opening up your special place to us. Waking up to the sound of orioles singing in the back yard was a treat :)
