This is a lovely property and perfect for accommodating a family. Great location, clean, and comfortable screened porch. Communication was very efficient. Will definitely have this on my list for a repeat.

First trip to Big Canoe! We absolutely love the property as a whole! The Beach Club was a big hit for our family. Renting a pontoon was a must do, especially early in the morning. As far as the house goes, the check-in process was easy. Disappointed in no early check-in but it ended up working out anyways, we got our shopping done in the meantime. The driveway is sketchy, we made it a challenge with the kids each time we left to make it our best exit yet. The house itself is great. I’m wondering how long it set empty, there were spiderwebs everywhere outside, we couldn’t really enjoy the balcony. There were dead bugs, scorpions etc in little crevices and around the master bathroom toilet. The carpet in the master bath threw me off. One of the lights would flicker in the master bath. The tv in the main room was fidgety. The tv in the second bedroom wouldn’t turn on, guessing dead batteries to remote but didn’t have extras anywhere. The screen doors were tough to open and close. Outside of those things, we definitely will be back!

Some things were not as clean as they could have been (dusty shelves, tv consoles etc. there was no laundry detergent to start the towels at check out, bathtub in the master had hair in it). Otherwise, the house was great, layout was perfect for kids, check out was easy.

Sweet memories

This house was exactly what we needed for sweet memories to be made. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Management was easy to contact and arrived promptly when needed. We had a blast at the lake with tons of fun things to do. As one other commenter said, the driveway is really steep and some car shuffling is needed but we made it in and out each day just fine (just drive out the driveway going forward and not in reverse).

Relaxing Home but a Stressful Driveway

This home was a relaxing escape! It had a very nice deck & view and a great family room on the lower level -- plus all the beds were super comfortable! We enjoyed our stay very much. The only issue was the Driveway -- it was a very steep drive to get down to the house and then back up to the street. For our group, it made going and coming pretty stressful. It was lightly raining at some points which made it slick as well. I think the cabin info said you could park 4 cars -- we had 3 cars and it only worked since there was room to put 1 car in the garage. There was more driveway space available, but you needed that space to get your car in position to get up the driveway. Anyway, we liked the cabin itself but if a steep driveway is a concern -- this may not be the cabin for you.

Some ups and downs, but overall pleasant stay. DOWNS:1. No early check in, no matter who says you can. The door cannot be unlocked with your code until 3pm on the dot (programmed via computer system). We were told by several people at various times leading up to our stay that we could get in early, including the morning of our arrival, making it extra frustrating after the long drive to just sit in the driveway.2. There’s no door knob on the front door. You use a keypad to unlock and then just push the door open. That being said, if you want to shut the door you have to lock it. Very frustrating when you’re trying to load/unload the car and the door keeps flying open because you don’t want to constantly use the key pad to lock and unlock as you’re making consecutive trips in and out, especially with a pet in tow.3. The driveway is scary steep. We go to Big Canoe all the time so that’s normal, but this one is anxiety inducing and you cannot park on the street and walk down.4. The bathroom off one of the main rooms is completely carpeted. You get out of the shower onto carpet. It’s just off putting and kinda gross.UPS:1. INCREDIBLE VIEWS FROM EVERY ROOM! 2. Both living rooms are comfy and can host a group easily. 3. The broken heater didn’t bother us because we kept a fire going in the fireplace.4. Pet friendly even for a cat (other than the door issue).
