The Bronson Barn is located on the grounds behind the home that was originally owned by H.V. Bronson who initially plotted the town of Peninsula. Nestled in the heart of the park, it is walking distance to restaurants, shopping, train depot and bike rental. The national park has hundreds of miles of hiking trails, biking trails, river walks or kayaking, amazing waterfalls, and nature walks to see wildlife. You can also enjoy the ski resort located a few miles away for any winter sports!

This was an amazing stay. The barn was beautiful and all the booking and checking in processes were seamless. It is such an accessible location to the park and other small towns. My family and I would totally stay here again!

Beautiful place! Modern & cozy, walking distance to town, in the winter you can see the lights of the CVSR ‘North Pole’ from the backyard, and there’s a great spot out back overlooking the Cuyahoga river. Very peaceful spot, would definitely recommend!

The Barn is really fun! A great place to land at the end of the day. A stunning overlook in the backyard, and lots of lovely flowers. Dog welcoming. We hope to be back!

Perfect stay

The barn is absolutely wonderful. Large yard with fire pit and a patio that overlooks the river with beautiful views. Will absolutely go back and visit again. The host is very accommodating and checked on us during our stay.

Serene & relaxing

Loved the small town of Peninsula and our ability to quickly get on the towpath for multiple days of biking and enjoying the National Park. Overlook pad of the river was a great spot to unwind in the afternoon.

Perfect!

This is by far our favorite short term rental place to stay/vacation. The proximity to the canal trail makes getting anywhere a breeze. The park all around and the quaintness of the town is wonderful. Great places to eat, to hike, to take a walk with your dog are all here. We loved it!

We booked this property so that we had a place to get ready for our wedding in CVNP and to stay afterwards. Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. The host was communicative, extremely helpful, and kind. We will definitely book with him again when we're back in the area.

Wonderful stay at the Luxury Barn!

Our family had an amazing weekend getaway to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Luxury Barn was a perfect location to relax for the holiday weekend! We visited over Thanksgiving weekend, and the kitchen was full stocked with all the necessary supplies to cook a wonderful meal. We enjoyed lots of quality family time relaxing and playing games and doing puzzles. Beds were super comfortable as well! We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Wish I could have enjoyed more.

This property is just stunning. We were in town for my daughter’s wedding. We did not get to enjoy this property nearly enough. Meticulously clean, well appointed, comfortable. I could have stayed a month. I was sad that I did not get to enjoy the birds. In my limited time bird watching I saw an oriole and trumpeter swans. From North Canton, OH we will be back for a staycation.

Beautiful Barn - Great Trails Nearby

The Bronson Barn is stunning, and the town of Peninsula feels like Stars Hollow from the show “Gilmore Girls” — friendly and beautiful, with local shops and businesses nearby. The barn is very close to hiking trails, including Brandywine Falls and the Ledges trail. Moreover, Rich is a fantastic host. Highly recommend! (First time visiting Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and would definitely go again!)

The luxury barn is so well maintained, stocked, cleaned, and decorated. The yard is very private, spacious, and also well groomed. High light: the property overlooks the Cuyahoga River with your own quiet sitting area! The host is quick to respond, a very pleasant communicator. Caution: If climbing stairs is a challenge, then I would not recommend this place. The sleeping accommodations are upstairs, the one restroom is downstairs and there are no handrails to grasp.

Nature’s Beauty in NE Ohio

Spent 4 wonderful nights at The Bronson Barn, set in the heart of Peninsula surrounded by the beauty of Cuyahoga National Forest in fall. The Barn was the absolute best, furnished with all the creature comforts you could want…from a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of appliances,dishes etc to a spectacular shower,extremely comfortable lounging area and spacious bedroom with lovely beds. Waking up with the beauty of nature yet still walking distance to the various shops and restaurants as well as easy access to the hiking trails and Towpath made it a perfect location. Our host, Rich went out of his way to ensure that our stay was first class. Will definitely return !!!

Great place, great lication

The barn is located in an excellent spot within Cuyahoga National Park. The back yard is right along the river and has beautiful views and a peaceful nature feel. The barn itself has been renovated and was very clean. It is a really interesting and peaceful space to relax, unwind, and enjoy. The only drawback was the host’s sensibilities to the guest privacy. On day 1, he asked if we minded having a painter come in and do some “maintenance touch ups”. He agreed not to, but it seemed very strange to paint as maintenance during a guest stay. Then, on the last day, the water was literally shut off 5 minutes before check out time. I was washing the last dish as the water was just shut completely off. I wrote to the owner to apologize for the last dish and inform him about the water, to which he replied, “Thanks, sorry”. If you are going to rent your place, you should plan around the guest stay to handle any property maintenance or management responsibilities. Otherwise, the place was great.

Chris, sorry to hear about your two concerns but happy that you loved the place. First of all i must say i was surprised that the rating was a 4 out of 5. The barn has had over 80+ guests from around the world and has always been a 5 out of 5, 100% of the time, with many guests wanting to book a second time. As for the maintenance/painter. The painter is booked 6 to 8 weeks out and he was on the property scheduled to do a few other things. The paint request was an area the size of approx. 12 inches by 18 inches. the job would have taken 5 minutes to paint. The request was because he was on the property and wouldn't be back for 6 to 8 weeks and he had a 12 to 16 foot ladder. I just asked if he could come in for 10 to 15 minutes. The other issue is the Barn is booked daily. Check out guest at 11am and arrival guest at 3pm. So not alot of time with barn booked and so popular. There are a minium of 3 guests a week coming in and out. Once i asked the guest ( Chris ) he said no and i agreed and said no problem. The water issue baffles me. It has never run out of water ever before. The cistron holds 1,000 gallons of water . It was filled 1 a day before the guest arrived, (i have invoice to show delivery date) . So in a 2 day stay , there was 1,000 gallons used? Maybe a toilet was left running, i dont know?? Im not sure why so much water was used. Again never happened before out of 80+ guests. Sorry it ran out of water 5 minutes before check out. Thank you

We had a fantastic stay at this renovated barn! The setting by the river is incredibly serene, and the home was perfectly clean, welcoming and exactly as reflected in the pictures/description. Very pet accommodating and the yard was large and nicely maintained for our dogs quick evening’s walk. It was the ideal home base for exploring the park only a few houses down from a coffee shop, local restaurant and farmers market and only 10-15min from some upscale options if that’s what you’re looking for.

Peggy was surprised for the 3 star rating? You never mentioned anything to me but that you loved the place? Ive been open 3 years at the Barn and with airbnb and vrbo guests they gave 86 times, (5 star ratings) out of 87 guests. I tried to decorate the Barn with holiday spirt too and make your stay special. Sorry you felt that way. I wish you would have communicated with me more. The best for you in 2025. Rich
