Fantastic appartment with splendid view on the sea

The appartment was totally OK, the surrounding is pretty (with shops, restaurants and a cafe) and the view on the sea is fantastic.

Wonderfull holidays

The owner is very helpful, give good advices. The appartment is spacefull and new with a wonderfull view to the ocean. Very well situated and we can find everything. A good choice to spend vacation rentals...we want to came again :) Thanks for a wonderfull holidays!

A great apartment

The apartment is light, bright and airy and is well appointed to make our stay very comfortable. The ocean view apartment had everything we could wish for. The bedroom has a wonderfull private balcony with a ocean view (it was wonderfull to wake up with the sun rising up from the ocean). The location is very good (nearby restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket, take away, pharmacy, bank) - everything we need. Funchal ia a 10min bus ride away every half an hour (bus stop just in front). We advice everybody to try the jeep tour (the owner of apartment tell us to do it - it was a wonderfull day). The guide Miguel was amazing.... We shall definitely be back!

I know they are all very good :) I will be here waiting for your next visit! (next time you should try the bike tours also. Like I've told you, it is very easy and fun - flat and descending roads, you don't need to ride up :)

Casa do Garajau

the apartment was excellent and beautiful. The balcony and the oceanview is the top highlight of the flat. Breakfast with an extraordinary view to the atlantic ocean is a "must do" ;-) The environment and neighborhood has some really nice (Snack-)Bars to enjoy the evening/night. The beach can be reached easily by walking. About 10 minutes from the apartment to the ocean - BUT: Consider Madeira is an island with hills and mountains. Walking to the beach means walking down the hill. You will have to use the same way back! Don't underestimate "walking" through Madeira and its hills ;-) Renting a car really makes sense as it is cheap and you can tour the complete island within 2-3 days. Last but not least a big "thank you" to Nyara. We appreciated your service and help when we arrived at Madeira. Thumbs up and keep it going ;-)

Thank you very much for you nice review! I'm glad you have enjoyed your staying at the apartment. It is true you have to walk down to Garajau beach (and walk up back...) but if you don't have car, and you don't want to walk, you can go to Reis Magos beach (at Caniço de Baixo) - also nearby. There is a bus that goes there - and you can take it just in front of the apartment (you can even go down walking and only take it to return to the apartment). By car it is only 3 minutes distance to Garajau beach and 5 minutes to Reis Magos beach.

A hotel is a hotel, but if you prefer the freedom of an apartment : this apartment is what you need for your vacation in Madeira The information on the internet is 100 % correct! New, comfortable and clean, beautiful view, 2 spacious balconies We slept well in the comfortable bed and enjoyed our breakfast at the balcony Fresh bread in the coffee shop Picados below the apartment or in the shops at 10’ walking There are several good restaurants in the neighborhood and for the price of the menu’s you can’t cook yourself! For visiting the island we didn’t rent a car: trips with a minibus are very interesting, to visit Funchal you can take the bus which stops in front of the apartment (€ 2,20 pp) – we made 3 levada-walks and asked Nyara to contact a taxi-driver and negotiate a fix price – the taxi picked us up where and when we asked Minus points? NONE Remarks? 1. A parasol on the balcony could be an advice 2. Television is old, but who needs a TV on such a beautiful island? Noel & Monique - Gent - Belgium

Great view!

Where should I start..? The apartment has such a great view and is good located. All informations on the internet - the pictures and informations around are correct. After we arrived on the airport Niara has send us a taxi driver to take us directly to the apartment and she has waited at the apartment and was very helpful with a lot of informations we need to explore. We have rented a car for travelling around the island and to be a bit more flexible. We rented online and could picked up the car in the shop AVIS in Garajau, not far away. Niara gave us a remote control for the parking area - a saved and cool place. We have felt home in Niara´s apartment - every day we have said "come on, let´s go home". The pizza from the pizzeria just next to the apartment made such a great pizza - you must try it! :) The apartment has everything you need for cooking, washing and just relaxing. Garajau is a good place to stay. There are two small supermarkets just a 5 min. walk. The second shop has a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. We loved this shop. In the evening drove a lot of cars and mopeds on the main street. For us it was a little bit loud and we need longer to fall asleep - we are not used to. We live on the land - after 9pm there are no one on the streets :D All in all, thank you that you have helped us to enjoy our vacation with a lot of memories, Niara! We already recommended your apartment to family, friends and colleague.

Thank you very much for your nice review you left for me! In fact the apartment has a great ocean view from all rooms and location is very good with everything you need just nearby. The advantage is the bedroom is not facing the main street and it doesn't have many cars anyway (it is a small village) but of course you can't compare with the completelly silence of the country side you are used to :) It was a great pleasure have met you and helped you to have the best holidays as possible! I really hope we can meet each other again in a near future!

Merci pour votre avis. Même si j'ai déjà remplacé les cadres des fenêtres par de nouveaux cadres insonorisés, si vous laissez les fenêtres ouvertes, vous pouvez toujours entendre les voitures passer sur la route... Malheureusement, il n'est pas possible de faire plus...

Merci à Niara pour son accueil chaleureux et sa gentillesse. Elle est vraiment aux petits soins pour ses locataires. Merci aussi à Miguel pour sa bonne humeur et pour nous avoir fait découvrir sa belle île. De plus, les propriétaires font l'effort de parler français, ce qui fut très rassurant pour nous. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour. Merci encore pour tout.

Très bel appartement

Spacieux, lumineux, bien entretenu avec une vue sur mer splendide. La localisation est très bonne, avec un accès rapide à la voie express, des restaurants et commerces en proximité. On aperçoit du balcon les dauphins chaque matin.... L accueil est très chaleur, bref je recommande. J ai oublié la place de parking privative au sous sol....quel confort! La cuisine, très fonctionnelle, pourrait être un peu mieux équipée en matériel même s il faut bien avouer que le prix de la restauration n insite pas vraiment à se mettre aux fourneaux.

Alles Tiptop, Gastgeberin Nyara war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns alles erklärt. Wenn Mann Straßenverkehr nicht gewohnt ist war es ab morgens etwas laut.

Hoch über dem Meer

Geräumige 2- Zimmerwohnung mit herrlichem Meerblick. Tiefgarageplatz war super- kühl und bequem. Manche Nächte war viel Autoverkehr bis 0.30 Uhr- danach war es bei offenem Fenster ruhig zu schlafen. Einkaufen und Gaststätte gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert

Schönes Appartement mit wunderbarem Blick aus allen Zimmern aufs Meer!

Alles Wichtige war vorhanden. Besonders bequem war der Stellplatz in der Garage. Am Haus führt eine Straße vorbei. Fußläufig Speiselokale und kleines Lebensmittel Geschäft zu erreichen.

Ein sehr schönes, großes und sauberes Apartment!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Niaras Apartment sehr genossen. Es ist eine geräumige und saubere Wohnung. Der Ausblick ist fantastisch! In der Küche sind alle Utensilien, die man so braucht, vorhanden. Das Schlafzimmer ist ebenfalls groß. Das Badezimmer hat zwar kein Fenster, aber einen gut funktionierenden Abzug. Unser Auto stand immer sicher in der Tiefgarage, die mit zur Wohnung gehört. Niara ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit: Sie hatte gute Tipps in Bezug auf die Insel für uns. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür ;-)

Schöne FeWo mit tollem Ausblick auf's Meer

Wir waren in der Zeit vom 08. bis 18. Oktober auf Madeira und haben uns in der Ferienwohnung von Niara sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet und verfügt nun auch über WLAN, was uns sehr gefreut hat. Niara ist sehr nett und hat uns viele gute Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt gegeben. Der Standort in Garajau ist auch sehr gut, nicht weit von Funchal und durch die Autobahn gut angebunden. Wir würden gerne wiederkommen. Lars und Susanne aus Deutschland

Beautiful apartment in a great location

This apartment is as beautiful, if not more so, than the pictures show. Spacious, in great condition with tasteful and modern decor, and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals and the washing machine/ironing board enabled us to travel light (which was great as most of our luggage was taken up with heavy hiking boots). Towels (including beach towels) were also provided and there is a great selection of books in the apartment - both of which also cut down on the amount of things you need to pack. We stayed for two weeks and it really felt like a home from home (but with much much better views - it was fantastic sitting out on the balcony enjoying the uninterrupted views of Atlantic ocean). Nadia was absolutely lovely! She was quick to respond to our booking enquiry, helpful throughout the process, even arranging for a taxi transfer from the airport for us on our arrival. She met us at the apartment and showed us around and also gave great tips on what to do and where to eat. There is a good bus service on Madeira and a bus stop outside the apartment. The buses were roughly hourly, but if you walk up the road (3-4 min) into the main street of Garajau (where the cafes, restaurants, shops, pharmacy and bank are) there are a few more options as some of the other bus routes into Funchal go through here. Walking the levadas and mountains was the main aim of our holiday. It is possible to do this using the buses (you would need to catch bus into Funchal and then transfer to another bus route), but we decided to hire a car so that we had flexibility on location and length of walk (book online in advance for best price - we used rentalcargroup - InsularCar - who have a Garajau office). The apartment has a basement car park with an allocated parking space. Garajau is an excellent place to stay. Away from the noise and touristy traps of Funchal, but with a good selection of cafes/restaurants. There is a small supermarket in the main street where you can get essentials, but two larger supermarkets fairly close by (including one in Canico which is a short bus ride away - although we were happy to walk here - about 1 mile and fairly level). We found a lovely restaurant in Canico (La Terraca). Food was great and the staff were lovely! I would definitely stay in Nadia's apartment again and have already recommended it to friends and family. Thanks Nadia for a fantastic holiday!

The apartment is exactly as stated, perfect!

The apartment in Garajau was absolutely suited for me. The views were spectacular any time of the day. Nyara was an absolute joy to work with and so very helpful and thoughtful. She responded to any request immediately regarding tour suggestions and even booked them for me, including a taxi for my 4 AM departure. Highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Madeira. Within walking distance of everything you need and the bus right out front was very convenient and on time. Garajau gives you the chance to mix with the locals and get to know the culture and rythms of the island. Book it!

Perfect place to enjoy Madeira

It was our first time in Madeira and we were lucky to spent it in Niara's apartment. We got a night arrival but Niara waited for us in the appartment and was very welcoming and helpful. The place is realy beautiful, cosy, clean and fully equipped. We spent hours just sitting on the balcony and enjoying magnificent ocean views. It also comes with the parking place which was useful since we rented a car. Location is perfect for exploring the island, easy to get to all the places of interests. We most enjoyed surfing in Porto Cruz (about 15 minutes drive from the apartment) and levada walks. There are two hypermarkets and lots of cafes, bars and local shops in the area. Very comfortable place to stay. Highly reccomend.

Perfect doesn't come close to describe it!

If you look at this property because you have been impressed by the pictures or the description, I have to tell you something: going there will be all it's advertised to be and twice better! We spent there a lengthy amount this summer, and it was by far the best summer eve. The apartment is new, shiny, spotless, decorated with warm colours and having all the needed utilities. Floor-length windows facing the ocean in every single room, you wake up with the sight of the ocean and palm trees, you have coffee on the large balcony facing the ocean and the Islas Desertas, in brief, you'll see more blue than you ever thought possible just by staying in. However, beach is really close (a more secluded one, which you simply must love-either for the turquoise water, the sheer wilderness of nature or the tasty limpets at the restaurant on the beach). Bus stop is in front of the building, if you wish you visit the island, otherwise Garajau's main street with bistros, restaurants and the grocery shop around the corner. The best part of the experience is Nyara's hospitality and friendliness. She was beyond kind, accommodating and helpful as a host. She helped us settle in, went through extra trouble to arrange high-speed internet for us, tipped us on the best places to visit and eat out, and was there to answer any question or query. Once again, thank you for an unforgettable summer, Nyara, and looking forward to go back soon!
