2BR Waterfront Cottage with the Most Spectacular View of lighthouse!

It's a celebration of nature in its most magnificent form, as the wild Chincoteague ponies run up and down the marshland, the local birds will sing you a song. As this perfect day comes to an end, the laid back reggae tunes will set the mood for the miraculous montage of Caribbean colors that make Chincoteague sunsets so desired. As you're moved by the awe-inspiring experience, you'll realize there is no place on earth quite like our waterfront Snug Harbor cottage!

Our waterfront cottage has a world class waterview! This spot is absolutely the best waterfront location in Chincoteague. Our cottage sits overlooking the Assateague Island where the wild Chincoteague ponies run free, the beautiful lighthouse and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. In addition, our cottage is located right by a nice deck on the water with picnic tables and chairs, outside grill, tiki hats, dock space, fishing and crabbing piers etc.There is also a little sandy area with beach chairs and palm trees where you can just lay down and relax. All of that for you to enjoy!

There is also a marina right by where you could rent a boat, conoe, kayak and go to explore the island by water or just rent fishing gear and try to catch your dinner.

Our Snug Harbor cottage is a part of 10 waterfront cottages complex at the same property, located on the tranquil side of Chincoteague which boasts one of the most incredible views on island. Our place will definatelly give a feel of island life. Please don't hesitate, just come and give us a try!

Perfect place to stay

Very nice and clean and directly at the water. Well equipped and beautiful view and close to everything. Perfect place for a peaceful getaway to explore beautiful Chincoteague.

Absolutely! Here's a shorter version tailored for Vrbo: Peaceful Waterfront RetreatThis cottage was the perfect escape. Tucked right on the water, it offered a serene, calming atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The family-run hosts were incredibly thoughtful. We signed up for a pontoon boat tour and we saw eagles, dolphins, and ponies! every detail was taken care of, making us feel truly at home. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and recharge.

Beautiful, tranquil setting. We got to kayak everyday. Lots of things to do and easy to get to also. Friendly and helpful staff. Just a wonderful experience!

The property was nice but cottage 11 has 2 air conditioners that extend into the deck. The noise from the units is very loud and doesn’t make for a relaxed time enjoying the lovely view of the bay. Additionally, there is no pool like the listing mentions

Overpriced and uncomfortable lodging. Not enough furniture and not comfortable. Damp inside due to poor air conditioning. Owners not transparent about paying extra for use of CC to book pontoons, etc. I felt as though we were being fleeced and we were.

Amazing!

The entire property is terrific! Only thing I would change is having more comfortable pillows - they felt cheap. Super easy check-in process, great vibe when we arrived, and arguably one of the best cove views on the island. Minutes from everything that matters. 10/10 would recommend 👍

Nice location, very noisy air conditioners.

Nice location and decent cabin, well equipped. Was comfortable. Very small bathroom. Ants were visible throughout. And air conditioners were super noisy.

Cozy and comfortable.

We enjoyed the stay, it was cozy. The only reason I am giving it a 4star is because I should have paid more attention to details when booking the cottage, it was too small for our family. Host was nice and communicated well. Location was good. Deck in the back has a beautiful and serene view. There are a few things for improvement though - Air conditioner makes too much noise, there was no dish washer. Overall we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the serenity of the area.

Trip with my husband, daughter and 3 grandkids..all teenagers. Lol Had a great time. Only complaint is there was no microwave so all left overs from going out to eat went to waste. But no big deal lol. Overall it was great!!

Cute cottage on the bay

The cottage was cute, had all the necessities. It is a little dated, as is the property as a whole. This property could be so much more with a little TLC. The manager was very friendly and helpful with activity ideas. We rented a kayak, boat rental prices are astronomical. We’ve rented nicer boats for way less. Overall, decent place for a weekend trip.

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

The location overlooking the water to the Assateague Reserve was obviously fantastic. We got the kid’s binoculars so they could see the wild horses across the water in the morning and evening. Great birdwatching too—it was raining during our trip but the back patio was covered so we could enjoy our coffee and see the gulls diving for fish. The cottage was clean and smelled nice, has an A/C unit and two fans for the bedrooms. The owner was so nice and drove to her house to grab newspaper for us so we could do a crab boil on the back porch. Lovely!!

Home away from home!

Snug Harbor is simply amazing, and is truly a home away from home. The location is on the water with amazing views of the lighthouse and the poines. There are tiki huts, lawn chairs, etc. for you to enjoy. Basia and Captain John can take you on kayak and boat tours. I highly recommend taking a guided tour as you learn so much history. Our hosts were so committed to us having a great time and went the extra mile so we could see the poines every chance possible. The cottages are comfortable and super clean. The beds are very, very comfortable. Stop at the grocery for you food and drinks, and you're all set! There is no better place to stay on Chincoteague. The hospitality is A++++. Snug Harbor is on my lsit for an annual trip!

View is all they have. Place is poorly furnished and the owners provide no amenities. Dishes to wash tough. Don't give you a sponge. Need to write a note. Tough paper can't be found.

Snug harbor resort has something for everyone in a gorgeous setting

We came across snug harbor without any prior knowledge of the area and could not be happier that we chose to stay here for a week. Whether you’re traveling with family, as a couple, looking for R&R, or doing some sport fishing this is the place to stay. The cottages are literally on the water and they are spacious and very well taken care of. The wild horses can be seen and heard from only a couple hundred yards away. Captain John is more than happy to show you around or bring you to awesome secluded beaches. There’s a thousand kayaks and paddle boards for fun. At night there are romantic fire pits that make you feel totally disconnected from the world but you’re only a few steps from your cottage. And the ocean breeze keeps all of the bugs away. If you’re at all into nature, or world-class beaches, then go visit Basia and Captain John. They will make your stay amazing!
