Charming Burt Lake Cottage

This beautiful Burt Lake home features 3 bedrooms with 2 full baths, a fully stocked kitchen, living space and a three season room all with gorgeous updates and a cottage vibe that is the perfect amount of cozy. The first bedroom has a day bed, second bedroom has a queen bed; a bathroom is shared between these two. The master has a king bed with a full attached bathroom. In every room there are windows that showcase gorgeous lake views. The kitchen is fully stocked and has been newly updated with high end appliances. There is a dining nook off of the kitchen with a bay window. The kitchen flows into a welcoming living room area that has more charming lake views and a TV with plenty of seating.

Outside features a large, open fenced in yard in the front and back of the property. This area offers the right amount of privacy with a nice back patio to enjoy the spectacular lake views and stunning sunsets. There is plenty of outdoor seating along with a charcoal grill for some evening BBQs. Other characteristics include a new dock with a ladder and platform that has some seating. There are also some aluminum steps from the shore down into the water. Enjoy the evening by the campfire down by the shore that has chairs surrounding it. Other features are a hammock, 2 kayaks and a paddle board all for your enjoyment. The house comes equipped with A/C and wi-fi that can connect to your streaming services. The boat launch is nearby along with Hoppies Tavern.

This house is a great location for our visit to Burt Lake. Our main comment is the old mattresses, pillows and bedding. The house needs a total refresh in that department! Also, the lighting in the house is inadequate. We stayed here last summer too. Because of the location, we booked it again. It’s a sweet little cottage, but needs attention.

Lovely and Perfect!

This Burt Lake cottage was absolutely perfect! Spacious for a small family. A modern, cottage-style kitchen complimented the rest of the home. Keeping the feel of a homey, quintessential cottage was exactly what we wanted. The kitchen was stocked and property management was engaged throughout our stay. Looking forward to our next opportunity to rent this property again.

Burt Lake Getaway

The cottage is very charming. Loved the character. Although beautiful, the wood counters in the kitchen are not a practical choice with trying to keep them dry. Future renters should be aware they will need to bring all condiments needed. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property had a great location. The water access was amazing. We were able to hang out in the water even without a boat. Being on the east side of the lake, we had amazing sunset views every night. It is very close to Hoppie's Tavern, which had awesome food. The house is not far from Indian River, where we were able to rent a boat. The house was very clean and had ample space for all of us. It appears that updates are being made on the house. The master bathroom was very small. There was no counterspace at all. We were not allowed to open windows since some were very old and could get stuck. I would have liked to open up the sunroom since we spent a great deal of time in that room. Overall, the lake front location made it an amazing trip.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the reservation part went according to plan. Everything cut and dried. Upon arriving we were surprised to find six steps leading down to the house entrance. The drive is partially hidden from the road so when driving out,visibility is poor.Then there is the bugs. The previous renters complained about ants so the exterminators arrived on our second day and we were told to leave for several hours while they sprayed. We covered as many of our belongings as possible but I think spray hit may have hit some items. Next day a different type of bug was running about.I had never seen anything like it. One was crawling on the wall in our grandsons room.Numerous cob webs on the outside of most windows.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice home to stay in. The interior condition is excellent and there is a well-equipped kitchen with large gas range. Real plates and cutlery. All this plus air-conditioning which was helpful during the very humid weather that came through while we were there. This trip was a family gathering that brought the families of my brother and I to northern Michigan to visit and enjoy again a place where we spent a lot of our childhood summers, learning to swim, fish, hike, boat and just generally grow up in a the Midwest. Burt Lake is moderately more developed from when I used to go there, but it's still quite pristine and we enjoyed a day on the water with a boat and the lake pretty much to ourselves. Not too easy to find that anywhere.All in all a great summer vacations for anyone looking to relax near the water and relax as a family.
