Mimi's Cottage, Minutes away from Sports Force Parks and Cedar Point

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located in the Rye Beach neighborhood in Huron, within walking distance from a private beach used only by neighborhood residents and guests. On your walk to the beach, there is a park area with picnic tables, basketball court and playground.
Only 13 minutes from Cedar Point
7 minutes from Sports Force Parks
4 minutes from Sawmill Creek Golf Club
13 minutes from Downtown Sandusky.

Charming lake house newly renovated in 2022. Inside the home; there is 1 Queen Bedroom, 1 Twin (daybed) Bedroom with workspace and a 3rd Bedroom with bunkbeds (1 twin and 1 full bed). In the kid friendly room with bunkbeds, there are games, puzzles, toys and movies for the TV with DVD player. In the living room , there is a pull out couch and TV with Roku. The kitchen includes all essentials, including dishes, silverware, pots, pans, Keurig coffee maker (coffee included with your stay), toaster, microwave, refrigerator, stove and oven. Washer and dryer are available for your use as well.
Outside, enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch. There is a fenced in side yard with a fire pit and seating for a relaxing night around the campfire!

Other attractions within a 30 minute drive; Marblehead, Ferry access to Put-In-Bay and Kelley's Island, Twin Oast Brewing, Wineries and more. Additional notes and places to visit are in the welcome book at the cottage.

Beach towels, beach blanket and chairs are available.

We are pet friendly! You can have a maximum of one pet with you during your stay, for no additional fee. Message inquiries for an additional pet.

Adorable

This cottage was so adorable. My family of 4 will definitely be back. We were in Sandusky for a dance competition and this gave us the PERFECT place to come back and relax to. So clean, so cozy, great communication and awesome location.

Great spot with all the essentials!

My partner and I stayed here while visiting family over Thanksgiving. It was perfect for a quick getaway and I’m sure it would be even nicer when the weather is warm! Jill was so helpful with instructions and welcoming snacks upon arrival. The whole place was well curated, clean and comfortable. Great location!

Lovely Home

Very cute house nicely decorated that makes you feel comfortable and at home as soon as you walk in the door! Communication with the host was wonderful! We loved the toys for kids and other thoughtful touches. The smallest bedroom with the day bed is only accessible from the far end of the master bedroom, but we made it work. Highly recommended!

Quick trip

Jill was so easy to work with. We needed to add a night on the front end of our trip at the last minute and she responded so quickly to help make that happen. Location was perfect. Such a quaint, quiet neighborhood. House is very clean and nicely decorated. Enjoyed our stay!

Small and cozy in Rye Beach

Ideal for a family of 4. Plenty of seating in the main area and beds were nice. No dishwasher but able to get by. Firepit was nice bonus as we could whip up some s'mores at night. Great location if you're using Sports Force as it's a 10 min drive at best. Neighborhood is run down in some spots -- but never felt unsafe and went for walks at night. Worth the low rate.

Mimi's cottage was a blessing

It was smaller than we normally rent. But it was a great location to be near our grandchildren. We had a wonderful visit with them in this was a nice home base. I wish it had a dishwasher, but we used a lot of solo cups and paper plates. Appreciate it being pet friendly and the fenced yard. Ty for the hospitality!

Great Location and Host

Mimi's cottage is very cute and clean and is in a wonderful location. Half a block to a nice park and a really nice, quiet private beach. The water is rocky so I definitely recommend water shoes. She is literally 15 minutes from cedar point and the water parks which we went to both and had a great time. Mimi's cottage is very clean and had everything you needed including beach toys, kids games, side yard with a fire pit that we enjoyed as well as a grill. The only negative would be we felt that the mattresses could use an update and some additional lamps/ tables in the bedrooms and living room however, that didn't deter from the overall experience. Would definitely recommend Mimi's cottage and would definitely stay there again. The owner Jill is very responsive answering questions and left us some great snacks and a book with great recommendations which we used to have dinner at The Bait House Brewery, good food and fun. If you're going to the Sandusky area, I highly recommend you rent Mimi's cottage.
