Quiet carriage house in historic Detroit neighborhood - 10 minutes from downtown

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. You'll have a private space in a detached carriage house, sharing a yard with the host.

Carriage house is newly remodeled with contemporary decor designed to help you unwind while celebrating the historic character of the building. Guests enter through a semi-separated corridor of the garage, where the laundry is located.

Once inside, the open concept main room features a queen bed, workstation and lounge area. The kitchen includes Carrara marble countertops and host provide lavazza coffee. In the bathroom you’ll find original features such as a cast iron clawfoot tub and iron sink. Shower supplies are provided.

Outdoor space features a large yard with a patio near the carriage house, covered porch, grill, bbq pit, bocce court, and outdoor living room. We have a dog, Louie, and are comfortable communicating with guests who do not like animals or whose own pets need extra space
Private, secured parking is available for one car and street parking is free. Families are welcome, as are dogs and cats. We recommend families 4+ check with us before booking to ensure the space will work for you.

We loved our stay at the carriage house. Brittany and her husband were awesome hosts and went the extra mile to make sure all was taken care of during our stay. The carriage house was cozy and had everything we needed. A fabulous home base for any trip.

Brittany and her family were the most pleasant hosts. From check in to check out they met every need and then some. They went up and above for comfort. True to its description, this little stay is perfect for any type of getaway. I’d love to come back alone with some books and hibernate with coffee this winter! Best stay yet!

this is a lovely spot and it’s a very considerate and safe feeling Location. The grounds are quite fancy and the interior had everything I needed minus a couple condiments the clawfoot tub with plenty of hot water was fantastic, the bed was comfortable, and I slept like a rock. I made myself a fire pit fire in the morning and brought down my tea. It was exactly what I needed thank you hosts!

Very cute apartment over garage with access to washer and dryer. The description of the space was accurate. Space was clean and had nice amenities, including small touches like good selection of teas and fresh ground coffee with a French press.

Great place

I stayed here with my dog for an overnight for a show in downtown Detroit. The carriage house was perfect. The hosts (and their dog) were the best. Can’t wait to stay again.

Brittany is a considerate host who will give you privacy when you need it but willing to help make your stay comfortable. She knows the area well and can give you great recommendations. The space is well equipped with everything you need, clean, and comfortable. It’s in a great location in a historic neighborhood.

Close to Hamtramck

Went to see a band in Hamtramck and didn't want to drive back to Lansing. Less then a 10 minute Uber ride to the venue. I'll definitely stay here again for future shows.

Carriage house weekend

This property is darling. Brittany is an excellent host, quickly responsive and helpful without being overly present, which I appreciated. The neighborhood is lovely as is the property this carriage house is on. The carriage house itself is a loft style apartment over a garage. For accessibility info, there are 15 steep steps to climb to reach the apartment. It looks as cute in person as the listing shows. The mattress is too thin for my preference and would benefit from a foam topper. Despite this, I slept very well while I was here, much appreciate the black out shade. I enjoyed my short stay and would book this again.

Perfect little place! Hosts were amazing! If you forgot something or needed something all you had to do was ask. It was an ideal launching place for us to explore the Detroit area. Visited Belle Isle and Eastern market. Took in two Tigers games and did a tour of the neighborhood. There’s a fire pit and wood to burn. Perfect time at the perfect place!

This is my only listing and is behind our house, which we’ve owned and have been fixing up for 10+ years. We live in a historic area of Detroit with some walkable coffee shops and bars — though the bar is a little longer of a walk. It’s a comfortable community with lots of charm and easily accessible to downtown / midtown and entertainment venues.

The bathroom has the original cast iron, clawfoot tub and sink. The floors are original (painted) hardwood. The space is a cozy, quiet, and private alternative to downtown hotels in a nice to walk through neighborhood with a coffee shop and bar nearby.
