The rich wood trim is milled from the property and offers a cozy feel. Rut & Strut Ranch is 35 mins from Mark Twain Lake, 10 mins from Mexico and 40 mins from Columbia.
Come get away from the busy city life and experience country life. Relax to the quiet sounds of the woods and wildlife. This is the perfect place to escape for a week or just a weekend.

We had a nice stay at this unique property in the country. Great place to relax after a busy day in Columbia watching the Tigers game. My wife took a stroll down to the pond and sat in a rocking chair out front while i napped in one of the expansive recliners. We will be back in a couple weeks!

Great cabin

Cabin was clean and well stocked. All of the systems (heat, plumbing, machines) worked as expected. Really appreciated the privacy of this place and the hospitality of the owner. Will stay again.

Great place, great host, better in person

I couldn’t say more. Starting with the host, they are excellent communicators and very accommodating. Always interested in making sure your stay is as expected. The place has charm and comfort and a great vibe. Highly recommend stayinghere, especially if you enjoy a rural experience in a comfortable and authentic location.

Quiet Getaway

We were in town for MMA Alumni weekend. The cabin looks just like the photos, so adorable and MORE than fully stocked! Everything was so comfortable, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and have a good time! We loved it so much, and cant wait to stay here again next year!

Family Time

Very nice and clean, quiet and out in the country! Close enough to Columbia that we were able to enjoy the Mizzo football game and get back and spend time with the family watching tv and playing games. The dirt road entrance was a little of a suprise, but not a problem. Well worth it and the owners were very nice and easy to work with! Would recommend to anyone!

Charming & Perfect to unplug!!

From the moment we drove up to the property we were in love! It's the perfect place to unwind, charming and inviting. The pictures don't do this property justice!! Nestled into the country, the place was clean and well stocked and a great getaway from the hustle of the city but yet close drive to anywhere we wanted to go. From the covered patio to the adorable and comfortable rockers, the picnic table and bench to overlook the pond and the patio to eat and enjoy the outdoors, not a thing was missing!!! There were chargers for our phones, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of blankets, linens and towels, pack n'play for my little, comfortable pillows and even laundry soap to do our washes. The pond was great, the firepit was amazing, the seclusion of the woods was just what the doctor ordered, and we enjoyed having a barbeque to grill on. The kids ran and played, caught frogs and enjoyed exploring. The host and hostess were awesome and accommodating with all our requests and attentive to our needs prior to our stay, during our stay, and even after! Our host even brought more firewood to an already well stocked firepit so we could enjoy the outdoor firepit for as long as we wanted. From a very "picky" person, this is definitely a place I would not pass on and because it was so amazing, would love to plan another trip! Thank you, my family enjoyed every minute of this retreat!!!

Everything was good other than not being able to figure out how turn TV stations. Unfortunately to windy for an outside fire Saturday but really neat place.
