Bird’s nest bungalow is a charming home. We were very comfortable, and appreciated little extras like designer sheets, access to their stocked pantry when we needed some cinnamon. The hosts provided farm fresh eggs, milk, and homemade granola. The kitchen was well stocked. The yard was lovely. Even a waterfall in the creek behind the house. The host is a great communicator, and provided great suggestions of things to do and see. The farmer’s markets in the area are incredible. You can buy homemade bread and pastries while picking up your veggies. Don’t forget the cider donuts!Fall color on the mountains was beautiful, and the county parks have great hikes!A wonderful vacation!

Sheer Summer perfection. Slow down and enjoy, rest and reset. The place is beautiful and tranquil. Everything you need to enjoy your time and then some. We really enjoyed sitting outdoors, wading in the creekbed, and taking in the scenery. Everything felt very homey and cared for. Have already recommended it to a few others and would love to return someday. The area is central to so many other towns and things to do, there wasnt an opportunity to get bored but you could relax if thats what you desire. 10 out of 10.

My husband and I had our fourth stay at the Birds Nest Bungalow. We can’t say enough about the attention to detail, excellent communication, beauty of property and comfort of the bungalow. Caarin and Eric have create a lovely retreat for themselves and their guests. Lots to see and do in the Hudson Valley.

This is a sweet country home with a kitchen equipped better than my own. It sits on land surrounded by nature where you will hear birdsong morning and evening. One hears a brook through the windows at night, accentuated in the event of rain. The owner is very accessible and has good recommendations for area resources. We visited Tanglewood twice as it is only 20-25 minutes away. Food shopping is convenient. A screened in porch is a delightful place for an afternoon nap. The landscaping is beautiful. In sum, this Birdnest is a gem.

Snowy stay

Beautiful house, well stocked. Especially cozy with a little snow fall and a fire in the fireplace. Enjoyed walks in natural areas nearby (by car). Easy to work with host. Delightful Thanksgiving for our family of four with young adult kids.

Cottage in Woods

Nestled in the woods by a babbling brook, this amazing cottage delivers everything for a relaxing and memorable stay. The owners curated a beautiful space and thought of every possible detail down to the cooking utensils and streaming apps. Lots of fun things to do nearby and beautiful countryside to see. You won’t regret one minute staying here.

Very comfortable property with roaring brook in back. Hosts make sure everything goes smoothly. Nearby villages offer a lot. Great relaxation!

Eric and his family were fantastic guests. They had some challenging weather and we noticed they used the time to solve our Rubik’s cube. Welll done! (0; They left the cottage neat as a pin and are welcome back any time.

Once again, our two week stay at the Nest was delightful. We have booked two more weeks in October, making it our fourth stay — enough said! Our hosts, Caarin and Eric, are outstanding in all they do to make it our favorite Vrbo vacation. Lovely home and property with a double waterfall. Lots of cultural opportunities and restaurants. Beautiful property

Lovely house, well-equipped, situated on a beautiful piece of property complete with babbling brook! The house was everything we had hoped it would be. Comfortable, very tastefully designed interior, user-friendly (great instruction manual), ALL the kitchen amenities one could wish for. Plenty of places to sit and watch the water rush by or read a book. Quiet place but not isolated - nearby towns for shopping, browsing, exploring. So much to do in the region. Overall - great experience!!!!!

Cozy Winter Stay

Cozy, charming house with beautiful artwork, furnishings, decor but not overly fussy. Our family of 4 had a delightful time sitting by the fire and cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. Plenty of skiing and hiking nearby along with groceries, drugstore, etc. in Chatham 15 mins away. Hudson and Great Barrington also not far. Caarin was an amazing host, providing all the info we needed about the house and the area. Loved the bungalow so much we’ve already booked our next stay!

So quaint, great for nature adventures!

The property is so quaint. Located on a small waterfall and stream, the location is serene and peaceful. While the house is small, it is more than large enough for a group of 4-5. We spent more time on hikes than on the property but had we chosen to just ‘chill’, we would’ve enjoyed it just as much. Great (small) kitchen where we made meals as restaurants etc a bit of a drive away. Slept great w no noise, perfectly dark nights uninterrupted by lights and comfy beds!

Wonderfully charming house!

Our stay was everything we wanted — relaxing, trouble-free, and fabulous! Caarin is very helpful and responsive to any questions, and the property is so peaceful and charming. We loved sitting out back overlooking the stream with the waterfalls. The sound of the running water is very zen-like. The house really felt like home once we settled in; very comfortable and rustic. Bird Nest Bungalow Redux

This was our second two week stay at the Birds Nest Bungalow and once again we were delighted with everything about the location, restaurants, cultural events, bike and hiking trails during amazing Indian summer temperatures. Caarin is an exceptional host and fully prepared her lovely home for our visit. Everything was perfect! A Slice of Heaven...

A slice of heaven” describes the bird nest bungalow, situated in the lovely hamlet of Red Rock. The host has gone out of her way to create a very warm and comfortable home away from home. The host, Caarin, is attentive to every detail and always available for her guests. Beautifully decorated, as well as immaculate, this home has everything you might need. We spent 14 nights and were sad to leave. Beautiful gardens, two waterfalls, and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. We have already booked our next stay in the fall. This was the most welcoming and peaceful rental situated on a country road with 2 waterfalls on the property that took my breath away. The house is comfortable throughout and thoughtfully and chicly decorated. It offers a perfect setting for friend and family dinners with a completely outfitted kitchen and farm tables inside and out and a lovely breakfast room. The bedrooms on the second floor are ample and private with super comfortable mattresses. This home is impeccably clean!We spent a week going on walk/hikes, restaurants, a farmers market, art venues and a production at Jacob's Pillow, all within a 20-30 min drive. Caarin was absolutely wonderful and communicative from the beginning and she knocked it out of the park with her Welcome manual.

Wonderful Hideaway

We had a very restful week's stay in Red Rock. Caarin was very helpful and attentive; her house manual is amazingly detailed and useful. The home is tasteful and clean, with lots of places to curl up with a book. The kitchen is compact but compensates with a cozy breakfast nook. Our bed was very comfortable. The upstairs is air conditioned, but we chose to sleep with the windows open so we could fall asleep to the sound of the babbling brook. We appreciated the two outside spaces, the covered deck and the screened-in porch. There are many places in the area to hike, eat, and shop, but we especially enjoyed sitting along the brook with a glass of wine. Thank you, Caarin!

Perfect Stay!

This house is lovely! Every detail is well thought out. The decor was elegant and neutral with a kind of black and white theme. There were artist prints throughout that followed this palette, birds and flora, so beautiful! A very nice functional kitchen, with an adorable breakfast nook. Very comfortable living area and spacious dining table. The bed was very comfy as well. We stayed in the room facing the back yard with the waterfalls, a nice lullaby each night. The bath downstairs had a great soaking tub. This was great after biking the nearby dirt roads all day! The outside setting was also adorable, with decks, lovely yard, flowering trees. The whole experience was totally relaxing. Thank you!

Wake up to the the Sound of a Babbling Brook and Waterfalls

This cozy and comfortable bungalow had all the amenities of a charming home on a country road. This property is a peaceful retreat filled with the owners personal touch of her love for nature. The kitchen is over stocked with essential cookware. There's even a turkey baster and cookie cutters! There's creaky wooden stairs to the second floor and a ball and claw cast iron bathtub on the main level. So many beautiful wooden doors and stained glass windows give this spacious home character. The mattresses and linens were top notch! The owner was very attentive in responding to correspondence during the booking process. We did not find it necessary to contact her while we where there for our three night stay because she thought of everything. 5 stars!
