Comfortable and stylish apartment in the heart of Barrie's Allandale; perfect location for those Waterfront Sunset walks!
Self contained, one bedroom apartment located in a lower level of a brick raised bungalow. Spacious and bright. Fully functional kitchen with a 24" ceramic-top stove with an oven, upright fridge, microwave, and everything else you may need for your cooking and baking.
Dining area adjacent to the kitchen, fireplace (not operational during Summer months), sofa bed in the living area.
Bedroom with a comfortable Queen Bed, and lots of room in the two closets.
Bathroom with single vanity, toilet, shower/tub combination.

Hello, I'm Joanna... I'm most likely just like you; a mother, a wife, a good friend.
12 years ago, one of our sons was into the 9th year of his figure skating career... like so many other mothers I would get up at 4:20 am, drive 45 minutes to the arena and cheer him on till the practice was over. Over the years, it took a toll on all of us.
An idea came to buy a house close to the Mariposa School of Skating in Barrie, where he trained... For a few years, we hosted figure skaters from as far as Mexico, Spain and Australia. Great times, beautiful memories.
Today, my now-grown kid lives in Arizona with his wife and travels the World. I'm no longer the "Skating Mom" to kids from all over the World.
But my passion for people is still there.
Over the last decade, our "Mariposa" home has welcomed new, upcoming skaters, families "between" homes, and those who are just "trying Barrie for sizeâ, Weâve met Snowbirds returning from their Winter travels who just wanted to stop over before their frozen-still cottage could welcome Summer visitors... and those who just needed a bit of time to repair their strained relationships, or those who needed some quiet time to work on a pressing project without distractions from their "life".
Some of the situations have opened my eyes wider, and taught me that I can help more people that I ever thought possible.
So here we are...

Mature area of the city, an absolutely perfect location for venturing out into town, walking the waterfront trails, and close to beaches, shopping, and restaurants. You are 5 minutes by car from the Barrie Marina.
Winter time at this location allows for quick ski trips, as we are within 20 minutes from three local ski resorts (Horseshoe Valley, St. Louis Moonstone and Snow Valley resorts, and about an hour from Blue Mountain Ski Resort.
If you are coming to Barrie to train at the Mariposa International School of Skating - this really is a place to be! You are 700m from the training facilities and the ice arena.
Winter time at this location allows for quick ski trips, as we are within 20 minutes from three local ski resorts (Horseshoe Valley, St. Louis Moonstone and Snow Valley resorts, and about an hour from Blue Mountain Ski Resort.
