Great Property - Perfect Location in Poipu Beach

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful unit in Poipu Beach. The check-in was easy, unit was clean and exactly as pictured, and the location was awesome! We would love to stay again on our next visit to Kauai!

Stunning views, perfect location

We loved this rental - the views were amazing and the constant sound of the ocean and sightings of turtles off shore were aspects that we loved. The condo was great for 4 of us, the kitchen had great amenities, and the balcony was perfect for relaxing. Being able to easily walk to Brenneke and Poipu beaches, as well as the nearby surf shop and shave ice/lunch spot was fun. We'd stay here again and highly recommend it.

A Natural Sound Machine!

This place was perfect for a four night stay in Poipu! We loved the location (a short walk to Poipu beach and right above the cliffs) and the set up of the apartment. My husband and I enjoyed putting the kids to bed, sitting on the lanai, and watching the sunset with a glass of wine. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was the perfect addition to our Hawaii vacation!

Beautiful ocean front!!

You can’t get closer to the crashing waves than this unit! Clean and fully stocked with everything you need. We saw sea turtles everyday by the pool! It was quite warm (Aug) in the unit, as there is no air conditioning, but the owner does provide fans. Limited parking due to some construction.

Poipu Shores stay before Marriott Waiohai

A small group of 4 of us opted to arrive a couple days early before our week at Marriott Waiohai Poipu with 4 others joining. The Poipu Shores location was ideal and the unit spectacular. A corner end unit facing west with great views and the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs/rocks below. Unit was well appointed and clean. Noted in description no AC, but fans in all rooms helped. Front desk communication was excellent. Highly recommend for your next Poipu Beach stay.

Just as advertised!

We had a great stay. The property was beautiful. The staff was pleasant and informative. The views were amazing. The condo gets a little warm as no AC but cools down enough at night. Enjoyed falling asleep to crashing waves. Tons of green sea turtles right at the shore that can be seen from the room and the pool area. Some electrical issues with refrigerator-freezer but they are being work on. Parking is tight but there was always a space available. We will definitely rebook in the future. Mahalo for an amazing vacation.

Beautiful oceanfront condo!

We stayed at Poipu Shores for 2 nights and it was absolutely beautiful! The views were amazing and the condo was very nice. The condo was a short walk from Poipu Beach where the water was calm and perfect for our 5 month old. As other reviewers have stated, it was very noisy with the waves crashing just outside the window. And with no A/C, you had to leave the windows open to have any air flow, so it was a choice between it being loud or being comfortable. We reached out to the front desk who brought us 2 more floor fans which greatly helped with air flow. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and loved the location!

Awesome oceanside stay!

We loved this condo and it's location literally just a few yards from the crashing surf and only a 5 minute walk from Poipu Beach! Location, location, location! We could watch the sunset from our Lanai - beautiful! Some things to keep in mind - the surf is loud and varies a lot with some loud booms as the waves crash. We love to hear the surf sounds but this actually kept me awake until we closed some windows and the wood blinds which helped muffle it a bit. The 2nd BR has no view (but they can still hear the surf). Overall, well equipped, clean and beautiful condo!

Outstanding getaway

Could not have asked for a better place in Kauai. The view was gorgeous, we saw sea life from the balcony, the pool was perfect, it was cozy, great shower, all of it. We asked for a fan because I’m a weirdo that needs a fan blowing in my face to sleep. They told me they didn’t have any and I was prepared to purchase one. But either by chance or amazing customer service, there were two in the room. The staff were so chill and kind too. What an unforgettable experience.

Was not what I booked

The Condo I booked was not what we got. No one was there to talk to. The corner unit that is listed and that we paid for we did not get. If I wanted another unit I would have gotten another unit, but wanted this particular one that was advertised and that I paid for was the one we wanted. I would have chosen another one over this one if we knew we were not going to get the one we picked. The unit we had was still nice and I don't want to be ungrateful. But we have booked off of VRBO plenty of times and this has never happened. I'm a little skeptical to book again through VRBO. Only explanation I got was that it was double booked. Would have liked to know ahead to time. The veiw at this property is amazing though!!

Our Sunday started off very nice, however around 3:00 pm we heard the loudest burst of thunder we have ever heard, and then is started to rain. The winds are slats, and the hinge was broken in the living area we would not get them to shut. The Living Room flooded because we could not stop the rain from coming in. We called the office (Land line 0) 4 times, and left messages each time. We needed help to stop the floor. There was also a cell number to call in an emergency, howecver no one answered that. We left a message, but no one ever cmae or called up back. We spent the next three house cleaning up the water. When the rains stopped and Kauai County said if was safe to go out, we stopped at the front office to see when we did not get any help. They said the phones did not ring, however she called me on my cell whic is the number I left for her to call on.There was no soap in the condo wash the towels I had used to soak up the water. The office said they would get someone to shut the windows. And they did. We loved our time there, and wish is had not included a Severe Thunderstorm! We will be back.

Spectacular View - 307A

This was our second stay at Poipu Shores. With one primary travel route on the island exterior, staying on the south side makes it easier to drive up the northwest or northeast sides of the island for the day to see the sites. The master bedroom and living room both have sliders out to the private lanai. There are dramatic views of the waves crashing along the rocky shoreline, sea turtles, dolphins, sunsets, and rainbows just a few feet away. This corner unit has bonus ocean views from the large living room/dining area windows (drawn window coverings in the late afternoon help with excess heat). A sandy beach is a 5-minute walk (beach items/towels provided in rental). The complex has a nice pool deck (closes at sunset) with easy viewing of the sea turtles just below the deck railing. Outdoor grills are available. Well-maintained unit fully equipped with cookware, utensils, drip/filters and K-cup coffee makers, blender, rice cooker, toaster, and ice maker. Enough TP, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap/pods for our entire stay, and a few toiletry starter sets were also provided. I would recommend packing salt/pepper, seasonings, zip lock bags, foil, and laundry soap sheets in your luggage as these types of items are not provided and island prices are much higher. Since the unit has no A/C, I requested a floor fan at the time of booking to compliment the ceiling fans and was pleasantly surprised to see 4 floor fans when we arrived! The parking spaces are very tight, so I would try to avoid very large rental cars if possible...not just an issue at this complex, but everywhere on the island. Easy after-hours check-in.

Worth it for the view

I loved the condo the minute I walked in. It’s your typical Hawaii condo as far as furniture and amenities. The view is extraordinary! You can watch the sunset unobstructed from the lanai and even get sprayed with salt water with large waves. If you don’t like the sound of the ocean then this unit is not for you. It can be loud, which I loved, and you need to have the windows open to keep the cooling breeze. I was a little concerned that it would get too hot during the afternoon/evening sun but it wasn’t bad if you remember to shut the blinds early in the afternoon. The kitchen had everything for cooking including a blender, toaster, and a little rice maker. If you plan to do much cooking, bring your own spices. There wasn’t even salt and pepper. The extra bedroom closet had a few boogie boards, pool noodles and two beach chairs. Poipu Beach is a quick walk and my kids enjoyed the pool. I do wish the pool hours were a little longer. It’s only open until sunset, so around 7:30 pm. I highly recommend the condo and would definitely stay again.

Beautiful view; good location- condo has some quirks

Many positives to this rental- great check in process- the front desk got us in our unit much earlier in the afternoon than expected. Pool was small but fun for our kids with views of sea turtles swimming/waves crashing. The unit itself looks like the pictures. The bathrooms were modern and clean , washer and dryer worked well, kitchen was well stocked. Good central location to everything on South shore. The negatives stacked up a bit for us though and worth sharing to those who plan to book in future. The second bedroom with the twin beds face the front of the house and get hot but leaving windows open is noisy as you hear other guests coming and going, the back bedroom faces the waves and they are REALLY loud. It is beautiful but I had to sleep with ear plugs as you need to leave the windows open since there is no AC. The bedding did not look clean to me on any of the beds. They use thin printed quilts and shams that look as if do not get washed regularly. There were visible stains on all of them so I stripped them off the beds before we slept. We also found a single dark hair in my son’s bed sheets. The living room furniture also looked dirty. It’s more like patio furniture with all weather cushions and they looked like they could use a good scrubbing. The units are really close together and when sitting out of the patio you can hear and see your neighbors if they are out on theirs. Last issue was the Wi-Fi. It is absolutely terrible. It’s a public signal for the entire complex and we had one bar at best the entire stay. All in all not quite up to our standards.

Beautiful but smelly

This unit has a beautiful view of the south shore and offered a relatively comfortable stay. However, the bed sheets were not clean and smelled like sweat / body odor, so it was not pleasant when going to sleep.

Christmas in Poipu

This was a perfect little spot for our trip to Kauai. It was perfectly located and the view was breath taking. The waves crashing on the shore below our window were a little loud for me at night but the rest of our party loved the sound. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location

The condo was beautiful and had nice views. The ocean was nice and loud, which was good as it helped dampen the sound of loud neighbors several times, early and late (no a/c so windows had to stay open). Enjoyed the pool with the amazing view. Would stay there again for sure.

Amazing view, well appointed condo.

This corner unit overlooking the ocean near Poipu Beach did not disappoint! The view was spectacular from the living room, master bedroom and the balcony. It was well appointed with great blinds for blocking heat/sun at times, beautiful cabinetry in main bathroom and nice dishes and cookware. Walk to the beach!

Fabulous view, great location, but...

Spectacular views helped us transcend a couple of issues with our experience. Before being "allowed" the key to the condo, we were told to "pay close attention" in no uncertain terms, to the rules of our stay. We're both over 70 and have always been super compulsive about being thoughtful visitors. It was kind of the anti-aloha greeting. It's possible to remind people about the rules without being condescending. Also I'm accustomed to removing my shoes before entering, especially at our Hawaii VRBO's. The floors in the condo were pretty gritty. But other than the floors, the place was neat and clean. I hate leaving a less than positive review. A first for us.
