We’re so excited to share this special slice of heaven with you. Built from the ground up in 2022, Little Lake Effect is a true labor of love, thoughtfully designed to offer the authentic “cabin in the woods” experience—without sacrificing comfort.

Nestled in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest and just minutes from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, our cabin places you at the center of everything the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Whether you prefer slow mornings and peaceful days at the cabin or filling your schedule with adventure, your stay here is sure to be unforgettable.

Paddle across the private lake using one of our two provided kayaks, sip your morning coffee on the porch while taking in the serene views, or unwind by a crackling bonfire beneath one of the biggest, star-filled skies the U.P. has to offer. Step right out the front door to access hundreds of UTV, ATV, and snowmobile trails, enjoy vibrant fall color tours without ever leaving the property, or set off on day trips to Munising, Marquette, Grand Marais, and beyond.

While Little Lake Effect offers the peaceful seclusion of a true woodland retreat, you’ll enjoy all the comforts of home. The cabin features a fully stocked kitchen with standard appliances, washer and dryer, full bathroom, luxuriously comfortable bed linens and towels, WiFi, a smart TV, and everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We loved the cabin's location away from paved roads. It was super clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We especially enjoyed getting out on the kayaks to cruise around the private lake and getting up close to a pair of Trumpeter Swans. One day was spent touring the Pictured Rocks, another canoeing down the AuTrain River, and a third hiking to Miner's Beach. Am planning to return next fall.

We throughly enjoyed our two night stay. Perfect, adorable as to off the beaten path cabin in the woods located in a peaceful, quiet setting next to a small lake . Lots of awesome hiking trails in and around Munising.The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and the host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Having the option to do laundry on site was an added bonus.

Great relaxing stay, close by neighbors but was not an issue. Property was nice and as described, better than expected. Easy to find and check in was a breeze, we loved the area and will come back.

It was beautiful inside and outside! The cabin was super clean and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy the stay! The water and outdoor area was beautiful and so fun for us with our dog! The hosts were great communicators, we would highly recommend!

Beautiful area. The cabin was perfect. It was very clean inside and out. Love the wood floors and loft. Comfy bed and pillows. Excellent WiFi connection. There were kayaks for us to enjoy a sunset on the pond. All the stuff you need in the kitchen. Grill and charcoal. Cozy fire pit. Our host was so thoughtful and responsive. This tiny cabin in the woods is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. My husband and I stayed here for 4 days with our pup and had a great time! The listing was super accurate which we were so happy about! Sometimes listings can look a lot nicer than what they are like in person but this cabin was exactly like the photos posted. Everything was very clean and we were comfortable. Hillary was always very quick to respond to my questions before and during our trip! There is a gravel road to get to the place so be prepared for that! We used the kayaks provided on the calm lake and it was so fun! We felt safe here and we were able to meet the neighbor, he’s a nice guy! We met him while kayaking- he was feeding the swans haha! We brought a lot of food to grill, Hillary has all the things you would need to grill or have a home cooked meal. The downtown area is about a 20 min drive, and there are multiple trails nearby. We only did the dog friendly ones but it still kept us busy for 4 days! Overall we highly recommend this cabin, it was perfect!!

This is a great little get away spot! It’s close enough to what you need, but also far enough from people. We brought our dogs and they had the time of their lives. Super clean and cute. Great communication from owners. We would love to stay again!
