Récemment rénové, confortable maison de deux étages, située à 3 pâtés de maisons de l’autoroute 101, située dans le port de mer victorien et siège du comté de Humboldt, Eureka.

Lumineuse et spacieuse, cette maison de 3 chambres pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 6 personnes offre un charme du vieux temps avec tout le confort moderne: une cuisine entièrement équipée, un coin repas et une cheminée à gaz dans une pièce à l'avant accueillante. Laveuse et sécheuse sont situés dans la buanderie ainsi qu'une planche à repasser pour en faire une maison confortable. La télévision avec câble complet et le service Internet Wi-Fi sont facilement disponibles.

La vieille ville et les meilleurs restaurants et attractions d'Eureka se trouvent à moins de 2 km. La proximité de l'autoroute 101 permet un accès facile aux séquoias, à la baie, aux plages et aux merveilles de la région de Humboldt Bay. Arcata est à seulement quelques minutes.

Reunion

We had a delightful stay while in town for our grandmothers memorial. My husbands extended family all live in Eureka and this was the perfect location for all our gatherings. The house had a bit of a French feel to it and was large enough for my family of 4 plus our dog. We’d definitely use again when in the area.

Late Honeymoon

My spouse and I had to postpone our honeymoon due to COVID. This was such a wonderful place to stay, very cute Victorian style home, clean and spacious. Great location neat down town, lots of amenities, we loved the gazebo and bbq. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great little place!

This place is cute! Charming and within walking distance to downtown. It was pretty cold inside but I read reviews beforehand and was prepared with house slippers. There was a heater for the downstairs bedroom so that was nice. The place had everything we could have needed and was very clean. Also a great jumping point from all the amazing things there are to do in each direction. Avenue of the Giants was stunning!

Loved this cozy house!

We truly enjoyed our stay, the kitchen was well-stocked, loved the stove!!. The house was clean and cozy, and we enjoyed family time around card games and charades. Rarely used the TV but when we did it worked just fine. The gas fireplace kept us warm, and the wifi worked exceptionally well! After theee nights of family time, laughter in the evenings, and daily adventures, it was hard to leave. Will most definitely be back! Thank you Heidi, for being such a wonderful host! Mia V.

A definate home away from home.

We have stayed in the yellow house at least five times now. We always enjoy our stay. Heidi is a most wonderful and welcoming host. We feel like family. After all we are paisani. There is ample parking for your vehicle and if you have guests during your stay.Bathrooms and kitchen are very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Plenty of towels. It is a short pleasant walk to the Eureka co-op and historic downtown where there is a multitude of eating establishments, bars and shops and coffee houses. If you want a comfortable house to stay at and a magnificent host, this is your house.

Yellow cottage

Charming house. We enjoyed its easy access to the waterfront area. Batteries in remote for heater/fireplace may need replacing. We were unable to lower temperature which would have saved owner money. Scented laundry detergent or fabric softener for bed linens caused allergic reaction to one of our party. I would recommend not using scents because many people are sensitive.

Should paint the trim on the house

The house smelled like cats and hadn't been aired in a while. Couches was old and so was one of the bedding up stairs. Someone had been in the house after we check-in because the TV was on when we came back, we never turned it on. We left early because we didn't feel secure in the house since someone went in when we weren't there.

Your privacy and security is the highest priority. The Yellow Cottage is located directly next door to our office with an adjoining driveway and anyone entering either door would be in full view of the office. I assure you no one entered the home while it was rented to you. I apologize if you were uncomfortable or in anyway insecure. We own and manage multiple properties and go out of our way to accommodate our guests. I wish you had mentioned your dissatisfaction during your stay so we could have accommodated and satisfied you. For future guests, please read our other reviews, this is an outlier.

Pet friendly, clean and cute

The house is clean and tidy. The best part about this house for us is “pet friendly “. It is very difficult to find a pet friendly hotel around Eureka or Crescent city. This house allows us to stay with our 2 small dogs. It is very cute and clean. We love the decoration of the house. The house is very close to 101 freeway. The owner response to my email is very quick and understanding with the current COvid situation. When driving to the house the neighborhood seems to be a bit concerning but we didn’t have any problem with security or safety. For us, it was a pleasant stay. We do not have any complaint. Target or Mcdonald or Tesla super charger is 10 minutes away from the house. We DoorDash our dinner from the local restaurant. Everything was great! Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

Cozy home away from home!

My husband, daughter, and three dogs stayed in this bright and cheery place for a full week while we got our daughter's rental home ready in McKinleyville. While the neighborhood is a mix of industrial and residential, we felt safe and comfortable here. The dogs were able to use the back yard area and we took them to a couple of local dog parks as well, which worked great This is just a beautiful home with so much charm, and Eureka really had everything we needed, especially with multiple trips to the hardware store and lots of food delivery options after long workdays. We were also able to make home-cooked meals in the well-appointed kitchen. Literally, everything we needed was available, and we were so grateful to be able to bring our pets. My only suggestion for future travelers is to really plan for cold weather with slippers, extra blankets, sweaters etc. as it is an older home and the heating is all from the gas fireplace in the living room. An electric mattress pad warmer in the master bedroom was a big help but for cold mornings and evenings it's a nice convenience to have those things : )

Dirty house, host was rude, bad neighborhood, DOn't stay here!

Ugh. So gross. This place was unclean and must be owned by some dirty hippies. We stayed at this house for 3 nights. It was big enough for my partner and our two children and two dogs. It became quickly apparent that the place was not clean. Our daughter gathered up large amounts of long brown hair from all over her floor and bed.The stove was covered in grease and hair. There was hair wrapped around doorknobs and kitchen cabinet knobs. Wainscoting all around the house had hair and heavy dust on it. All the utensils required washing before using. No soap to wash any dishes with. House looks cute in pix, but is in an industrial neighbor hood with slummy houses with trash piles in front. The beds were fine but the bedclothes were ratty with holes in them. The dresser had someone else's clothes in them. I had to plunge the shower because the drain was clogged the first time I took a shower. We're not the types to sweat the details, but they charge 275 a night! Plus a cleaning fee! I sent a message to Host Heidi, asking for some recourse or price adjustment. Heidi quickly replied only that If we din't like her house, we should move out. So much for trying to work it out. This could have been an easy work around, Heidi. You didn't even offer to send in a cleaner. You suck. We made sure to leave the place cleaner than we found it, strip the beds, wash the few dishes we used and pick up after our dogs. Don't stay here!

Dust and hair was piled up on surfaces in every room including headboard in bedroom. I have another ten pix/video of this sort of thing.

Alesssandro, I am sorry you were unsatisfied. In our defense, we did offer you a refund, if you checked out by check out. We don't want anyone to be dissatisfied. I was also pretty sure your 1am complaints were unfounded as this was a cleaning person I had used with exemplary results and had charged well into overtime for cleaning. a cottage, In your defense, I came in after you checked out and did find that the kitchen hood, stove , top of fridge and kitchen chair rail had not been cleaned to our standards. We did not find hair. As a result we retrained our cleaning person and have since replaced them. And you are right, we do not send cleaners in during our guests stay, we expect and have upheld standards of excellence in the past. We did offer a refund. if you checked out because we wanted you to be satisfied with your travels to Humboldt. I have refunded you for your first night and would have refunded the whole stay if you had checked out. Again, I apologize for your dissatisfaction , for the condition of the Kitchen surfaces and any inconvenience.

Nice place with easy access to downtown Eureka. Allows dogs

We are a multigeneration family with 2 dogs. This is our honest review. We needed a place with a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor for our elderly father and room for four adults, 1 child, and a couple of small dogs. The location was near downtown, and we quickly got to different parts of Eureka to see family. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the gazebo due to the weather, but it looked lovely. My family liked the living room for gathering, the kitchen had most things we needed (more than I've seen at other places), the bathrooms were stocked (loved the number of towels) and there was a washer and dryer (which we needed). If you are traveling with people who can't navigate a narrow steep staircase, this might not be your place. It is clear in the photos but none of us paid attention when booking. Both bathrooms are downstairs so you will need to navigate that staircase if you need the restroom. All the rooms have the basic furnishings you might need (dresser, lamps... obviously bed). The beds are full size upstairs and very springy (ie noisy for those wanting adult time). As for comfort, they are okay for a couple days but beyond that everyone struggled to sleep through the night. Both sink in the middle and make noise with every move. The shower head in the main bathroom might need to be replaced (it was a trickle) but having a bathtub with a child was a godsend so we seriously did not care about taking a shower. Water was hot and bathroom was clean! Heidi was very responsive! The neighborhood is... close to things but not exactly walkable and honestly that is the state of many parts of Eureka right now (we are frequent visitors with immediate family there). It rained the whole time and no one was out but my walks with the pups were fast and I kept a good eye out. We've stayed at the Carter House Inn and had the same experience walking in the area. There was some late night activity/commotion with the garage across the street (roaring engines, some yelling). Happened a couple nights but that was it. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be near downtown and loves classic Eureka old home charm. It is super cute and Heidi was awesome to deal with (earthquakes struck right before our trip, so I messaged her a bunch).

great stay...highly recommend

My family stayed at the yellow cottage while we were in Eureka attending a wedding. The house was perfect! cute, comfy, clean, all the necessary items to do some light cooking and a great floor plan. My husband and I stayed in the D/S bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and our children and their kids used the bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen and living rooms were spacious enough too accommodate all of us. Heidi, the host was always prompt and friendly with responses. we enjoyed our stay and would definately stay again if visiting Eureka! Highly reccommend!

Great place to stay to see Redwoods and Northern California coast

My husband, my adult children and I enjoyed the charm of this property as we began our discovery of Northern California and its Redwood forests and coastline. The house and yard were charming and very close to old town Eureka and the water. We enjoyed the three bathrooms. Only minor issue was that the two guests rooms were upstairs and the bathroom that serves those two rooms in downstairs. I guess we didn't read the listing carefully, but I am happy we missed that as the stay in this lovely house was worth it.

Great Redwoods Getaway

We stayed here for along weekend to see all of the Redwoods parks and sites in the area. The house was just as pictured, cute, comfortable and very clean with lots of space for our family.
