Avez-vous besoin de sortir de la ville et de vous éloigner de tout (travail, téléphones, bruit, circulation, personnes), mais camper n'est pas votre truc?
Notre casita nouvellement construite de 600 pieds carrĂ©s se trouve Ă  une heure au sud-ouest de Roswell, au Nouveau-Mexique. Nous pouvons vous promettre peu ou pas de trafic (peut-ĂȘtre 4 ou 5 voitures par jour
 si vous ĂȘtes chanceux), pas de service de tĂ©lĂ©phonie mobile (Ă  moins que vous ne montiez le sommet de la colline ou ayez des appels wifi sur votre tĂ©lĂ©phone), wifi disponible proche. Il y a une abondance de grands espaces pour faire de la randonnĂ©e ou du vĂ©lo (l'Ă©quitation est disponible Ă  40,00 $ l'heure / personne avec un minimum de 2 heures, sur rendez-vous seulement avec Kim), beaucoup de paix et de tranquillitĂ©, et une visite occasionnelle de la vie sauvage locale. Observez les bovins et les moutons qui paissent sur les collines lointaines et savourez le magnifique ciel du Nouveau-Mexique qui s’étend comme une canopĂ©e. Les nuits sont spectaculaires alors qu’une couverture d’étoiles se dĂ©voile, sans encombre de lumiĂšre envahissante.
La casita, chaleureuse et accueillante, dispose d'une cuisine entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e et d'un barbecue (Ă  charbon ou Ă  gaz). Vous vous sentez aventureux? Il y a une zone de cuisson au feu de camp oĂč vous pouvez faire griller un steak de cow-boy ou faire griller une guimauve! N'oubliez pas votre nourriture
 le trajet en voiture est long (vous pouvez acheter des steaks ou d'autres morceaux de bƓuf ou d'agneau «Chesser naturel» disponible)!

AprÚs une longue journée, le lit queen confortable vous invite et vous promet de bonnes nuits de sommeil. La mezzanine a deux lits jumeaux et le canapé se transforme en un lit queen size pour accueillir plus d'invités. La casita a une salle de bain complÚte et une laveuse et une sécheuse pour répondre à vos besoins. Détendez-vous sur le porche couvert et profitez de la table de pique-nique en plein air.

If you want to experience the hinterlands of New Mexico, this is the place for you. Well-off the beaten path, it's in the middle of the Chesser Ranch, a beautiful, quiet place literally miles and miles away from civilization. Directions to the ranch included an 8-mile, 20mph stone-road in (from the Roswell direction) and a 19-mile 20mph stone road out (south to US70 toward Alamogordo) for us. The route out took us through a number of ranches and over cattle guards and the wildlife and views were incredible. The only word of caution: if you have a low-slung sports car this route may be difficult. Chesser Ranch is a working ranch with horses and goats and a some cattle, but don't let that dissuade you. If you want to get back to nature this is the place. The moonlight night gave way to more stars that we thought possible. A roaring campfire complimented the experience. Kim/Patricia provided precise directions (we advise you follow them as GPS is spotty). The Casita is off to the side of the compound and is absolutely perfect with a well-stocked (kitchen, bath, etc), and inviting. Spoke at length to Kim a couple of times and he's a true rancher, kind, informative and gave us a lot of local flavor/history. 10/10 would stay here again! Thanks Chesser's!

This property is a dream! We had the best view of the stars, cooked over the fire. We wished we could stay longer and very highly recommend it!

Great base camp

Secluded and unplugged. Prime location for Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell, Lincoln National Forest and White Sands if you don't mind the drive. Our hosts were excellent with communication and were very friendly and respectful of our want for seclusion. There is WiFi and a smart TV but if the power goes out you will not have cell phone service (exactly what we were looking for). The flies were a little intense but understandable given the cattle and livestock on the ranch. The Casita was well stocked with basic supplies and toiletries. We had a fabulous stay and highly recommend booking the Casita!

Country Living

Our stay at the Casita was an amazing experience! Beautiful, quiet place to stay, relax and get away from it all. A true ranch with beautiful sunsets, farm animals, coffee on the front porch and many places to hike and take in your beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed every aspect of this countryside. Our hosts were gracious and it was a pleasure to experience the nice accomodations that was offered. We hope to go back again in the near future. It's a must try for all!!

Great time in the ranch!

Our group of four had a very enjoyable time during our stay at the ranch. The drive in was a little tricky, and the roads a bit bumpy, but that was a small price to pay for an authentic ranch experience. We would definitely recommend this to future travelers. I would also recommend traveling via truck/small SUV for piece of mind!

This is a true get away from the world

With everything going on in the world it was nice to escape to this remote property for some much needed R and R. The ranch had the sweetest baby lambs and horses. The owners were very kind and nice people. We will go again for sure!

We loved our time on this far away ranch. Not only was the property beautiful and clean, but the scenery was an added bonus. We also enjoyed visiting all of the animals nearby.

Didn't, stay, road was impassable.

This property is 2 hours outside of Roswell. The listing is misleading. We attempted two different routs to get to this property taking over 4 hours, the directions the property manager gave us lead us through flooded streets, we turned around and took the "long" way and drove down a gravel road for over an hour passing thru flooded creeks and finally got to one I was totally not confident we could pass through it. We turned around and drove another hour back out on the gravel road. The property manager is delusional about people being able to get to this property. You would have had to have had a lifted 4x4 to get there. The property manager was puzzled that I couldn't get there!! I will be seeking a refund from VROB. Would not recommend this property at all.

Casita with a view......

What a property, what a view, what great hosts!! From the drive (19 miles) into the property, we drove slow, looking at our surroundings, taking our time, wondering where this dirt road would lead......we might have had a mile left to get to our destination when along came a flat bed ranch truck down the road. He was looking for us.....said we were “overdue” on our time allowance getting to the Casita. He had driven out to check on us to make sure we were ok. I mean really.....who does this?? Kim and Patricia Chessar do..... that’s who!! We had THE best time, beautiful views, and could not have asked for better hospitality than what we received. Highly recommended.....if you are ever in their area....stay with them! We spent time in Roswell and also in Carlsbad.

Perfect Destination

Super clean place and perfect for an outdoor vacation. We were able to hike miles over the landscape off trail. My favorite part had to be the private horseback ride. When we come again I’m probably going to budget to go ridding every day lol We look forward to coming again and maybe bring a group!

Great Getaway

We lived this out of the way escape. The kids loved the open spaces to run, the stars were incredible and Kim and Patricia are excellent hosts. Totally worth the drive!

Oh my stars! Beautiful

Our stay at the Casita was lovely. A beautiful property with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. It was just the two of us but the Casita has plenty of space for four. We just loved seeing all the ranch animals and wild deer! No light pollution, so star gazing was great! A great place to unplug and get some quiet relaxation. Wonderful for families or a romantic getaway!

Country Getaway

Everything was comfortable and clean. Felt like I had a home in the country. Enjoyed deers running through the property in the morning and the horses being rounded up for an afternoon ride. The owners were friendly and made me feel totally relaxed.

Great house!

The casita is great and comfy! The road to get there is ROUGH! If you can figure out how to go the way by the airport it is a million times better!! But it was worth it for such a nice relaxing place to stay!

Beautiful and Peaceful Getaway!

We had a Blast!! So secluded and quiet! Great Internet Service! Beautiful Cabin and we brought our Side By Side UTV , and was able to ride on the 20 mile Gravel Road. Beautiful Sunset! When first arrived and got settled I attempted to do a small load of laundry, and the washer door would not shut securely and pause kept coming up. So we ended up doing laundry in town. Other than that, we had a Fantastic Time !! We are looking forward to our next visit. Owner’s of the Ranch are very friendly!!! Super Nice People!!!

Kim, is a lifelong cowboy from a long, family ranching tradition. He was born and raised on this ranch and not only has a love of this way of life but a greater love of people. His wife, Patricia, is also a native of New Mexico and has used her decorating talents and gifts making the casita a true haven of retreat.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Kim has lived on this ranch his entire life and Patricia their entire marriage, since 1978. After diversifying the ranch in 2003 to a working guest ranch, there were many calls wanting to rent the guest house (people not wanting to stay in town or in a hotel). In 2010 they decided to build the 'casita' with a full kitchen for overnight, weeklong or monthly guests. Their first rental was a snowbird from Minnesota the entire month of January. She had beautiful 70 degree weather while she was here!

The simple, peaceful country life is what we live and enjoy and desire to share with others. Our beautiful New Mexico skies are the topic of conversations the world over. No intrusion of city lights, traffic, sirens, telephones, etc. just pure peacefulness. You will hear an occasional bawl of a cow and calf or ewe and lamb, birds singing and other nature sounds.
