Enjoy the tranquility of the countryside in a renovated stone built cottage where you are surrounded by wildlife, beautiful woods and country lanes. Have fun with the family where you can enjoy outdoor activities such as badminton or table tennis in our extensive garden or take a dip in the pool or simply snooze on the double hammock under the trees. We also have a meadow and wood external to the grounds which you are free to explore. The grounds are enclosed and accessed through electric gates which brings you into our spacious courtyard.

This 2 bedroomed gite is full of rustic charm and character. You enter the property through the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area where you are presented with beautiful exposed walls and beams which adorn the property throughout.

The kitchen/ dining area is fully equipped with a large selection of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. The gate leg table extends, providing seating for 4-5 people. The kitchen has new appliances including an electric oven and gas hob, kettle, microwave, airfryer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge freezer. The kitchen/diner is open plan and looks out on to the courtyard through French doors and window which gives the feel of a bright and spacious area.

The cosy lounge area comfortably seats 4 people where you can sit and chat, play board games or simply watch the new modern flat screen HD TV with its many Freesat channels. The living area has been thoughtfully furnished with quality seating and decor.

There is large master bedroom with solid wood furniture providing guests with plenty of storage space. The room can also accommodate a travel cot if required. Again this room has been decorated and furnished with love where original French furniture has been blended with modern and stylish accessories such as the bespoke curtains and lampshades and original pieces of artwork.

The twin bedroom is a bright and airy space with velux window and patio doors which lead on to the courtyard. It also has been designed with love and care where solid French furniture meets modern bespoke accessories. Both bedrooms provide ample storage space.

The bathroom is spacious and simply furnished and is equipped with toilet, wash hand basin and shower.

Outside there is a private covered seating and entertaining area – fabulous for an alfresco breakfast, an evening barbecue or to simply sit in the shade and enjoy the local wine. You have exclusive use of the 4 metre by 8 metre pool (not overlooked) which has steps leading into it and is ideal if you have mobility difficulties or young children. There is also a very extensive enclosed private garden which gives you a great sense of space and tranquillity. Spring and Summer and early autumn are beautiful here which is a great time to visit the area and take advantage of the endless walking and cycling opportunities, as well as kayaking on the local rivers. The wildlife at this time of year is particularly impressive with beautiful birds and butterflies and you may even get to spot our two barn owls if you are lucky.

We have a range of pool inflatables and outdoor game equipment (table tennis table and bats, cycles, badminton, football, swingball, garden jenga etc). A welcome basket of tea, coffee and essentials is provided for you on arrival with our pleasure.

The area is perfect for country walks, cycling and river activities. It's also renowned for it's "big skies" where star gazing is a must and even better when lying on our comfortable loungers with glass of local pineau or wine in hand. If you are looking for days out further afield , the beautiful coastal town of La Rochelle and the Ile de Re are less than 1.30 hours away. Local picturesque towns such as Chef Boutonne, Melle, Verteuil, Nanteuil and Civray offer restaurants, bars and cafes, two of which have cinemas offering movies in English. We are also less than an hour away from Niort, Angouleme with their bustling cafes and restaurants and the beautiful Poitevin marsh as well as the historic city of Poitiers and Futuroscope.
