Homemade cabin with an outstanding view
Needing a break from a busy life? Unplug and soak up the peace and quiet at Canyon Peak Cabin! Our off grid cabin offers an exceptional view of the San Francisco Peaks, beautiful Arizona sunsets, and amazing wildlife. When it gets dark, the stars come out and light up the sky. It's truly breathtaking. Come on out, sit around the fire, enjoy some smores! Canyon Peak is hand built with lots of love and located about 20 minutes from the South Entrance of the Grand Canyon. We know you'll enjoy it!
The space
We have provided soft mattresses, microfiber bedding, soft towels, and all the amenities we were able to offer at our beautiful off-grid location.
NOTE TO ALL GUESTS:
This is an off grid, hand built cabin.
When temperatures drop below 32 degrees, a hot shower will be unavailable.
(Please note: the cabin shower will not having running water from Nov 15th until the end of March/April) Weather permitting..The wood burning stove is a great off-grid amenity. Please plan for about 20 degrees increase from the heater.
Canyon Peak is located on a rural area of Grand Canyon Junction. It is highly likely that you will hear animals at night, such as coyotes, elk, local cattle, and of course little critters running around on the deck.

DESCRIPTION OF A SUMMER DAY AT Canyon Peak:
.......................................................................................
When the sun comes over the horizon it fills the sky with light colors of pinks and purple. The hummingbirds and orioles start arriving at the feeder, fighting over who will get the nectar. Sit out on the deck and take in the snowcapped mountains with your morning cup of coffee.
An occasional lizard may climb up the deck or even the side of the cabin looking for a spot to catch insects.
The summer afternoons will get hot! It is a good idea to be at the canyon during this time of day. But if you want to hangout at Canyon Peak staying inside the cabin would be much cooler than outside in the direct sun. Please stay hydrated and safe!
The evenings are just as memorable as the sunrises. If you are lucky you will be able to catch a glimpse of antelope walking around in the open fields.
Building a fire and relaxing outside while seeing the most memorable show of stars is the best way to spend the nights at Canyon Peak... Plus who doesn't love a good smore?

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR GUESTS:
.............................................................................
Road to Canyon Peak:
We recommend a standard size sedan with moderate clearance. Though, the best vehicles are an all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle. Especially during the monsoon season (late June through September) and after a heavy snow. If you see a puddle, drive around it on the higher ground. Don't drive through it; ( unless you see others driving through it, and feel comfortable to follow) they could be deeper than you think! Follow everyone else's tracks.
FIREWOOD:
During winter months we have plenty of pre-chopped fire wood available for our guests to enjoy the inside fireplace.
We do not provide wood for the outside fire pit. You are welcome to use what past guest have donated.
Do not break or cut anything off the property please.
ELECTRICTY & POWER:
Canyon Peak does not have electricity.
April 15th - November 15th the power we have is to operate the hot shower. Our goal is to really get our guests to unplug!
We do however provide solar lights throughout the cabin and washroom for lighting.
BATHROOM:
Canyon Peak has a private outdoor washroom featuring a compositing toilet. This toilet is a private toilet to you and your friends. It is outside the cabin and reduces any unwanted odor and its fully insulated for a more comfortable experience. :)
Guest access
Guests will be able to access the entire property. Please note there is a gate, but you can open it and drive around the round a bout and park in front of the cabin. Please only stay on the gravel with vehicles.
