Situated on scenic Freestone Lake in Mazama, this waterfront lodge(a legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law)
is located a short walk to the Freestone Inn, with easy access to the inn's hot tub, swimming pool, Sandy Butte Bistro & Bar, and Jack's Hut Pizza & Brews. This dog-friendly (limit 1) 3- to 5-bedroom home is really more of a great hall, with the large central space flanked on either side by two bedroom wings. The great room, with its high, vaulted ceiling, is the heart of the house, where the living, dining, kitchen, and video nook are in the same space. A series of windows and doors look north toward Freestone Lake and Goat Rocks across the valley. The deck outside faces the lake, with a propane BBQ and outdoor seating.
About 100 yards away is a small swimming area, dubbed 'South Beach,' that is a great, safe summer hangout. The Methow trail system runs through the Freestone area, and in winter you can ski out the door. In summer, the paths make great bike trails.
There are two bedrooms with en suite baths- one of which has a queen-size bed, a jacuzzi tub, and a freestanding fireplace; and the second has a king-size bed and a private bath with a regular-size tub/shower. These bedrooms are on the fireplace side of the great hall. Three other bedrooms share the main-floor bathroom. Two of these rooms have queen beds, and the third (what we call the kids' room) has a bunk bed and a twin trundle. All rooms have a nice view of the surrounding nature. We are making the house available as a 3-, 4-, or 5-bedroom. Important... !!If you desire either the 3- or 4-bedroom, please indicate when you make the reservation what your bedroom needs are (queen and/or 'kids'/bunk room).
There is a stacking washer/dryer for longer stays, or to dry out the winter wetness. The kitchen is full, with a dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, and (of course) a wine bottle opener. Pretty much everything you need, even a car charging station.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR-ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:
1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Stevens Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia River to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is YOUR responsibility to make alternative travel plans. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken, adding additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter, and mountain passes can be closed at any time of the year due to wildfires, rockslides, or other events. Directions over all the routes will be sent to you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check the pass reports (and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.
2)Trail Access/Closure Information:
If you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur at any time due to fire, rockslides, mudflows, and more, and we have no control over them. There are many hiking and biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades National Park is closed via Hwy 20 for any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There are many beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.
INTERNET POLICY
**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley, and outages or tech issues beyond our control can occur; for these reasons, NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will contact the internet provider and/or the homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural and getting service personnel to fix things promptly can be a challenge. We rent lodging, not office space.
Public internet is available at the Winthrop library, with enhanced internet speed (in the parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee, you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!
IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION POLICY :
**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months, it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme, with heavy snowfall, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, and impassable roads/driveways. If it snows while you are here, you will have to wait for plow service, just like everyone else in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies, and neither the Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house control the plow companies' schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads and driveways to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required, especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck, you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA.
**WEATHER CONDITIONS**
We cannot be responsible for winter weather conditions. If you will be arriving during the winter, please be sure you have proper equipment for driving in the snow, and carry tire chains for driving over the passes. Our local roads are always kept open and in good condition for winter travel. There are no refunds for road closures; however, if both the Stevens and Snoqualmie mountain passes are closed for more than 8 hours and the closures prevent you from reaching the property, you may reschedule your stay to arrive within 3 months of the pass closures. Please note that the North Cascades Pass is always closed during winter.
We recommend you check weather conditions before driving through the passes during the winter, either through the DOT's website.
**Propane Fireplace--The propane stove is a supplemental heating source, not the main one. If there are any tech issues with the propane fireplace during your stay, please send a message through VRBO. Methow Reservations and the owner will try to troubleshoot and remedy the problem. If the problem requires a part or there is an issue with the propane company that may take longer than your stay, NO REFUNDS will be given. The guest will use the main electric heating source whenever the propane stove is out of operation.
**Pool/Hot Tub Usage: The Freestone Hot Tub is privately owned and maintained by the Freestone Inn. Neither the Methow Reservations nor the Four Sisters owners are responsible for the closure of the pool or hot tub. NO Refunds will be given for any closures during their stays. The pool is open seasonally, and the hot tub is available 24/7. Please note that the Freestone Inn DOES NOT provide extra towels, so please do not request any. Also, please bring ALL Four Sisters Lodge towels back when done using the hot tub/pool. NO REFUNDS are given if the pool/hot tub are not available.
