We are located in Portland's trendy Montavilla neighborhood, near the foot of Mount Tabor. Max Light Rail is a five minute walk. Interstates 84 and 205 are less than 5 minutes, so getting around Portland is super easy.

For guests looking to explore sustainably, Bessie the Tessie is our 2025 Tesla Model Y and is available for rent during your stay. With Oregon’s new law requiring self-service at gas stations, you can skip the hassle of pumping gas entirely when you rent Bessie. Guests will enjoy free charging at the property throughout their visit, and we can even arrange pickup upon request. If interested, feel free to inquire after booking, and we’ll provide more details. There's also a discount available to our Airbnb guests.

- The kitchenette is well equipped for preparing light meals and includes a microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, small refrigerator, toaster, and induction cooktop.

- Brand new mini split heat pump and A/C system ensures year-round comfort.

- Designed with accessibility in mind, the Casita offers step-free access, wide doorways, a step-free shower with fixed grab bars, and a shower chair. Please see the detailed accessibility section for additional information.

- Our home is a shoes off home, so please take off shoes and make yourself comfortable.

- Our home and the Casita are tobacco smoke-free. Cannabis is welcome on the back patio only, and we ask that related waste be disposed of properly.

- No pets allowed.

- Respectful quiet times: 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM.

- We have a friendly dog on the property. You might hear her occasionally in the backyard. She is territorial, however, which is why we cannot accommodate guests with pets.

- The backyard, shared with the main house, is surrounded by tall trees and an 8' privacy fence. The Casita has a covered patio with seating.

- The uncovered hot tub, located between the main house and the Casita, is available year-round, even in rainy weather.

- Please notify us when you want to soak so we can ensure window shades are drawn for more privacy. For sanitary reasons, we ask guests to take a quick rinse before using the hot tub. Luxury spa towels are provided in a basket near the back door.

- After using the hot tub, kindly pour a full bottle of spa shock (found on the TV stand by the back door) into the tub and run the jets on high. The system will shut off automatically after the cycle.

- Please notify us immediately if anything breaks to maintain the quality of your stay and future guests' experiences.

Security Cameras & Smart Devices
The Casita is a separate guest dwelling that shares a roof with our home. A hallway connects the two dwellings through a locked door located in the Casita bathroom. This door remains locked throughout your stay. We do not enter the Casita through this door during a guest stay without prior notice and permission, except in an emergency where access is reasonably necessary.
There are seven exterior security cameras on the street-facing side of the property. Three cover areas associated with the Casita: the driveway alongside the Casita, the exterior of the Casita's front entrance, and the guest parking space directly in front of the Casita.
These cameras record video only and do not record audio.
There are no cameras inside the Casita or monitoring the shared backyard, Casita patio, hot tub, or other guest-use areas where privacy would reasonably be expected.
Exterior camera footage may be reviewed when reasonably necessary for safety, security, property protection, or to investigate a reported or suspected violation of house rules. Relevant footage may include information concerning occupancy, unregistered visitors, smoking, pets, property damage, or other activity occurring within the disclosed exterior camera areas.
If an incident occurs during your stay, relevant footage may be made available to you or your legal counsel when reasonably possible and permitted by law and applicable platform policies.
If you would like to understand the field of view of any exterior camera before or during your stay, please ask.
Camera footage is stored locally in encrypted storage and is ordinarily overwritten after approximately two weeks. Relevant footage may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to document a safety, security, property-damage, or other incident.
Occasional technical failures may interrupt recording or make footage unavailable, so continuous recording of every camera cannot be guaranteed.
The Casita also contains three smart devices: the thermostat, television, and front-door lock. These devices are provided for normal operation of the property and are not used to record guest audio or video or otherwise monitor guests inside the Casita.
