The Woods Event Center & Suites offers extremely spacious 900 sq ft guest suites. With plenty of room to roam, your friends and family will feel more at home than in a traditional hotel or tiny cottage. Rooms feature two Queen beds, bathroom with tub and shower combo, mini-fridge, microwave, in-room coffee maker, dedicated workspace with LED desk lamp/phone charger, dining area seats 4. Living Area features 50 inch Smart-TV and Chaise sofa.
Heat and AC Controlled in Room. All Linens provided. Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash included.
Stay includes continental breakfast for up to 4 guests in our newly renovated TreeTop Breakfast Bistro.
Guests may also utilize the theater during their stay. Theater seats 12 guests. Guests may reserve time slots by contacting us by email or text. Hours may vary. Theater occasionally will close for special events.
Commercial Kitchen, Ballroom and Conference Rooms available for rent. Contact us for more information on rates and availability for events/activities. We can host your wedding, retirement party, elopement, corporate retreat, graduation party, anniversary party or any dinner or banquet.
Crystal Lake is within walking distance. Close to the Tippy Dam, Big Manistee River, Big M Trailhead, 25 mins from Manistee. 1 Hour to Traverse City. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort/Spa about 35 minute drive, Caberfae Peaks about 15-20 minutes.

unique and nice

Whomever thought of converting a school into an event center with guest suites is a genius. This is a great place to stay - old classrooms provide for huge guest suites, amenities are well-stocked, staff stays behind the scenes but is always reachable, arcade room is an added bonus. The courtyard is nicely maintained and a good spot for morning coffee. Within a half hour of both Manistee and Cadillac. I would certainly stay here again in the future.

The The Woods offers top notch amenities tucked in the heart of Wellston. The quiet, quaint venue grants an atmosphere of peacefulness. A spectacular gem for an exceptionally pleasant getaway from the hustle bustle of the fast place life.

The Perfect Place

The Woods was the perfect place. I needed a place to stay because of a trail race that was nearby. The location was just what we needed. Alicia was such a kind and helpful host. The room was large, clean and everything was new. I would recommend to anyone.

We chose this lodging for the location, as a perfect base of operations for our Up North vacation. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room to be enormous, and immaculately clean. We did not use the theater, which looks amazing. This would be an ideal place to host a wedding, in the ballroom, and guests could stay on afterward.

Upon entering the building the concept began quickly to unfold. What a unique and special place this is. ✅Extremely Clean ✅All the Amenities Needed ✅High-end Finishes ✅Comfortable Beds ✅Wonderful Breakfast Room & Coffee ✅And Extremely Good Communications, making this an easy stay. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐-STAR STAY! This property is a completely refurbished elementary school which is now an event center and suites. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. We received detailed instructions for entering the building and accessing our room the morning of our stay. The owner was onsight and made sure we had anything we needed. Everything about the building is so tastefully appointed from the hallways to the ballroom to the movie theatre etc. Yes, I said movie theatre where you can select from a vast array of dvd’s to enjoy in movie theatre seating. The breakfast was simple but adequate to start our day. It was such a fun experience and we can’t wait to go back.
