New 2024 listing! Full of amenities (you'll need to see them to believe them!), Reuben Ridge's Hobbit House has 3 charming bedrooms and 2 completely renovated bathrooms. Our family friendly bedrooms are comfortable for up to 8 when the full size suspended bed & twin upper bunk is used. Otherwise, forget the suspended bed & upper bunk and the bedrooms are great for 6 adults (2 per bedroom) who want more private sleeping arrangements! Smart TVs in every bedroom plus living area. Ultra fast WIFI and Xfinity Cable. Fully stocked open concept kitchen includes coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and Splenda in addition to Olive Oil and most cooking Spices. We even supply insulated cups to keep your beverages cold! Indoor dining seats 8. Playstation 4 and multiple board games available for rainy days! Speaking of rainy days, there is a 12 x 16 screened gazebo on the deck with outside dining, a propane fire table & conversation area along with a propane grill (propane included for the fire table and grill). Private swimming deck with lounge chairs to relax in the sunshine! 9 x 12 swim mat, noodles, floats and life vests are all available at no charge or bring your favorite floats and fill them up with our onsite compressor!

Please note: Hobbit House has reduced ceiling heights in the kitchen and lower level bathroom. If you’re taller than 6’2”, you may want someone else to cook!

There is a 2024 Pontoon available to rent at an extra charge discounted for guests who rent our home! Boat fee is $400.00/day discounted to $368.00/day for our guests. Rentals for 3 days or more are discounted even further! Our boats are for rent to experienced boaters only but we also have a Captain's Tour package available so you can enjoy your time on the water and the SANDBAR without a care in the world! Just ask if you're interested!

Another great stay!!!

We stayed 7 days. We enjoyed swimming off the dock. Grilling out and family time. Sunsets on the lake. Boat rides around the lake and Wave-runner rentals. Kelly is a wonderful host!

Perfect Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for our weekend away at Lake Shafer! The location was perfect, the house was so cute and clean and so many personal touches by the host that made us feel so welcome!! I would highly recommend this house and we will be back!

Quiet and cozy weekend.

Kelly was an excellent host always providing immediate communication. We appreciated all of the extra amenities provided and the place was spotless. The beds were alos very comfy! We will definitely stay again!

Wonderful and Peaceful Stay

The host is super accommodating and responsive. The lake house is well stocked with amenities. It's a lovely well maintain home. The rooms were cozy and it was nice to be off the beaten path just a little.

Just what we needed!

We had a great time. The house had everything we needed and more. They even went and got bait for us to fish. The rooms and beds were comfy and the porch and dock were peaceful. The family loved the pontoon boat and were ready for dinner and bed as soon as we got home. Just what we needed!

Communication with the homeowner was excellent! She really cares about the experience the renter is having rather than just the income generated from the rental. She set the stage for a really enjoyable time with a basket of goodies and cucumber flavored and other water in the fridge made available. She really helped us have a very nice time.

This was an amazing trip. I took my three children, 15, 14 and 5, and my sister. There was something for us all to do.The communication with the host was very easy and always a quick response. The view was amazing from the back deck of the house along with the view from the deck on the water.I would absolutely book this home again.

Long weekend

We were looking to disconnect and spend quality on the lake. Beautiful property, charming decor, well stocked for any cooking/baking needs, and very dog friendly! We loved the boat also and it allowed us to see all of Lake Shafer.

I would give 100 stars if i could! House was amazing! From the smores kits for the kids to having everyrhing we needed and more! We highly recommend renting the pontoon with a captain, he was amazing. Kids got to tube and go to sandbar while adults got to relax and chat with him. Cant wait to go back!

Fantastic Stay on the Lake!

My husband and I stayed at the Hobbit House for a few days with our dog and had a wonderful time! The house was adorable, clean, and the views of the lake were beautiful. We really appreciated the snacks and personal welcome for the dog! Kelly was quick to respond from start to finish. We chose the boat rental option and had a great time of the water! I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice time at the lake!

Amazing Hosts

House was immaculate. Kelly was proactive in providing more TLC than any VRBO we've ever stayed at. Ryan was super knowledgeable about the lake and gave excellent guidance about what to do in the town. Professionalism across the board.

Perfect Family Getaway!

We had an excellent time at Kelly's property. She was super helpful & responsive while we were planning the trip and went above and beyond while we were there. The house is adorable - perfect condition and absolutely stocked with everything you could imagine. They had amazing bedding and linens, snacks, coffee bar, chargers, speakers, games, bugspray - literally everything you could need they have thought of! Will definitely visit again! The dock and pontoon boat were the perfect addition for our trip! Thank you for a great experience!

Home away from home!

Lake Cottage Extraordinaire!!

Perfectly appointed three bedroom cottage with a wonderful deck and large pier. The grandchildren loved jumping and floating in the water. Kelly, our host, was in frequent contact to ensure our stay was going well. I would highly recommend a stay in this lovely cottage.
