Just minutes from Wisp Ski Resort and Deep Creek Lake, this cozy McHenry cabin is the perfect home base for your Western Maryland getaway, no matter the season. Nestled in the trees, it offers a peaceful, secluded setting with a private firepit—ideal for cozy gatherings and starlit s'mores sessions. A spacious deck and gas grill make warm-weather barbecues a breeze, and sleds are provided for added wintertime fun.

Inside, relax in the living room with a smart TV for streaming your favorite shows and movies, all while staying warm by the wood-burning fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals, and a small coffee bar helps you start the day right. Additional perks include free WiFi and a private washer/dryer for convenience.

All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Pine woods cabin located in McHenry, MD

Loved the location, the wonderful yard and fire pit. Lovely deck for relaxing. Spacious living room/dining room, and the bedrooms were all a good size. Very peaceful and quiet location.

Very cozy cabin to stay in for labor day weekend. We were a family of 7 with a dog and everyone slept comfortably. The only reason we didnt give it a full 5 stars is because We were hoping to use the grill and the porch, but the grill only had 3 burners working not enough to grill the way we wanted to, but we ended up going to lake and grilling there. Porch chairs were a bit dirty, but doable. The fire pit chairs were broken but we brought our own lawn chairs and made it work.

Pine woods cabin

This cabin was spacious and open with plenty of room for all of us! It's a beautiful cabin and private. The fire out area was cozy and the yard was nice for the kids. We all loved this place and we will definitely come back for a longer stay!

Ok cabin - ok experience.

Air conditioning worked great for what was one of the rare hot weekends in Garrett County. One room does not get the air so well. Small ant issue and some floor boards of the home are insanely warped. Couch pull out is what you would expect. Kids enjoyed their bunk beds. Overall, basic.

Liked beds ,table and chairs in dining room. Small sofas are too low and cushions worn out,hard to get up off of them. House was very clean. I had to kill 3 wasps in the house. I was stung by a wasps in the carport.

Pre-Christmas in the woods (but surprisingly close to civilization)

Not far from the main road and surprisingly close to the town and ski resort, while at the property you feel entirely secluded and away from civilization. The main living and dining area is great for everyone to spend time together with a fire going while the bedrooms are tucked away for good privacy. The wrap around deck would be a great place to lounge in summer, and the fire pit would be similarly nice on summer and fall evenings.

Overall stay was pretty good. There was no propane for the gas grill. Informed agent on Monday , didn't get propane until Thursday afternoon. I wasn't going to pay almost 70 for a tank and hope to be reimbursed . Needs a handrail at mai entrance, new subfloors in main bedroom and bathroom. Otherwise things were pretty good.

Dirty/ poor cleaning

Extremely dirty! When arrived we wiped everything down, wipes were black. Dust all over the doors, spider webs in the light fixtures, beer from previous visitors left on back porch. Air conditioning did not work. Soft spots on Floors in house, deck is starting to dry rot, furniture needs updated big time! You sink in the couch. Thorn bushes on pathways to walk. Only good thing was the driving distance to everywhere we went was about 5 minutes!

Family Vacation Stay

The linens, towels, and kitchen were clean upon arrival. I appreciated that there was no extra food left in the fridge as a food allergy family. There was trash and a pair of socks in the yard, and an overly full cigarette tray on the deck. The deck and furniture could use some attention and almost half of the windows in the home were unlocked which we remedied before bed. There are no AC registers in the living room area which appears to be an addition and left it significantly warmer than the rest of the home. The living room furniture sunk uncomfortably low and was difficult to stand from. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great.

Beautiful property

The property is beautiful. Both livingrooms are great for gatherings and the deck is a great size. Although we liked the property overall, the bathrooms are not well-kept. The tub and sink in the master bedroom were clogged during our whole stay (maintenance never came to fix the issues). There were a lot of spiderwebs and dead bugs are the windows.

We received a text at 2:30 on check in day that our rental was ready early for free. We were excited and went directly to the property. When we entered, we found the property had not been cleaned from the previous renters. There was a dirty diaper in the bedroom trash, dirty sheets and overall

Did not meet our expectations

When we arrived, a trash bag full of liquor bottles was in the kitchen. The shower did not work. The driveway is way too steep and dangerous with snow. The property is very old and smells bad. The dishwasher was inoperable. Make sure you bring your own salt & pepper too.

When arrived we wiped everything inside the house down. The wipes were black! Beer bottles were left on the deck from previous visitors. Ash piles left on deck as well. Air conditioner did not work, called multiple times before someone came to look at it and the guy fixing the air even said the unit was very filthy and that’s why it is freezing up. Spider webs in the light fixtures, dust caked on closet doors. Floors are soft in multiple spots. Front Living room floor is a mess also the floors are buckled and easily able to tip over it. Couches need updated as you sink in when you sit. Deck is a mess/ slippery and needs a good power wash, thorn bushes over grown on the side walks. Only Good thing about the place is it is secluded but still close to everything!!!
