We loved the property. Host and Home was responsive to our needs and questions. We would definitely stay again. Only reason didn’t give 5stars is the pool didn’t get cleaned until after we arrived.

Great house, good space. Pool area was such fun for everyone. The location is perfect for bike rides to Harbor Town and South Beach. Kids rode to the stables every morning. They need to check the mold situation in the basement. It is probably penetrating the whole house. I could not rebook because of the mold.

Beautiful home in HHI

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house was clean, a great size for 16 people, and had everything we needed. The renovations are beautiful and the home was comfortable. One word of caution: the pool is very close to the lagoon without a fence. We had to have an alligator removed that kept swimming up to the edge to watch our children played in the pool.

Hurricane Blew Our Vacation Away

As Hurricane Debby was heading towards Hilton Head in the days leading up to our scheduled vacation we questioned whether we should still be going to Hilton Head. We headed out from Ohio in the car and stopped the night before in Asheville NC to make a determination based on the latest info the following morning. That next morning VRBO sent us a message warning us to evaluate whether our accomodation would be accessible and to make sure we were cognizant of the weather. We decided not to risk going as upto 16" of rain was expected and people were leaving the island. Host & Home offerred us no relief from the full price we had paid, including cleaning fees and expenses they did not incur. I would never book with them again.

It’s always disappointing when unforeseen circumstances impact a much-anticipated vacation. Our cancellation policy is in place to ensure fairness and consistency for all guests, and unfortunately, it does not allow for refunds due to weather-related disruptions, as these are outside of our control. I genuinely regret that this meant we were unable to offer relief in this instance. For future travel, I encourage considering travel insurance, which can provide additional protection against situations like hurricanes. Please read this review in its entirety. It’s long but I promise you need to read it all.

The property was amazing we loved the area it was in. the house was even better in person. Loved that it was pet friendly and our puppy loved it! However, the communication I had with the property managers was absolutely unacceptable. It’s a rental company who manages this property not a private owner. They didn’t respond to my VRBO messages to the point I had to call them and make sure they would send check in info. My last name was spelled wrong on the parking passes even though it was spelled right on reservation. Tried communicating with them about the pool took them a whole day and a half to get back to me about it. During that time i had called and even went by their office to let them know about what was going on with the pool since I couldn’t get anyone to respond to my emails or calls. We had people come walking behind the rental to check the windows which we were never informed about. We also had someone walk right into the house without knocking and no notification from Host & Home to drop off a care package. They stated to me that they “must’ve just given the guy the wrong address”. Like I stated previously loved the house, loved the area, sea pines is amazing. But this rental company needs to get it together and get a better communication system in place. The only person that was somewhat responsive was Jack and he even gave me his cell number incase we needed anything further. Just take this as a precaution before booking.
