Our nicely remodeled older home is in a quiet neighborhood in town. You can sit out on the patio and watch, birds, squirrels, and deer. Our house is within minutes of all restaurants and shopping areas in town. UAM is a few minutes away. Lake Monticello is about 15 minutes away. Monticello is the hub of Drew County and has everything you need in a quaint small town. Come enjoy your stay with us!

Pros - quiet neighborhood, covered parking, well-stocked kitchen (pots, pans, dishware), overall relatively clean, newer kitchen countertops & sink, newer flooring, good communication with host. Nice to have a VRBO option in Monticello.Cons - bathrooms need to be updated/refreshed (ie. sink faucet handles are stiff and difficult to turn), needs a whole-house dehumidifier to better control faint musty smell.

Thank y’all for staying with us. Those bathroom handles are the original ones from 1973. No one has ever complained and they work fine. But I will definitely consider replacing them. I have only smelled something like that under one cabinet before. But once again, it’s Grandmother’s House. I will get something to take care of that! I appreciate your constructive criticism. It only makes our place better.

Paula’s place was perfect. On a semi rural paved road, 5 minutes from Wal Mart and eateries in town. Spacious house in a beautiful setting. We visit Monticello more than 3 times a year. We hope to get to stay there often.

The kitchen was just what I need to cook my Christmas dinner in. It has just enough counter space for me to do all my preparation as well as let things cool as they were coming out the oven.

This home was perfect for a weekend with the family! There were toys for the children to play with, a nice yard to throw a Frisbee, we all gathered around the kitchen for fun games! Everything so clean and beds were comfortable! The Host was so helpful and checked in during the stay to make sure we didn't need anything! 10/10 recommend

Grandmother’s house is the perfect place to stay!

I was in town to watch my daughter and her team compete in the college rodeo. The house was a perfect place to rest and relax between performances. We will definitely be booking again for our trip next year!

Garage entry door fell apart but showed evidence of previous damage. There should be a notice that the driveway was very uneven and cause several stumbles. The kitchen was extremely disorganized and it was full of food. We were unsure of use. The master bath floor was peeling up. The kitchen windows were so full of dead bugs and spiders, we vacuumed them up. The return air vent was dirty. Tried to use the oven vent but it blew dead spiders and dirt on our cooking food. The oven burned all the food even at the correct temperature selected. The sheets on the master bead had stains on them.

Thank you for your comments. I will have someone check the stove. I had no idea there was a situation. You are the first person to mention it. I will also put a sign up about the concrete that the nearby tree roots have caused some uneven spots. There’s nothing I can do about that. I do clean all the window sills on a regular basis, however sometimes flies do get in. They always go to the window seals to die. I have changed out the air vent. Thank you for reminding me. I’m sorry you were not completely satisfied with your stay. Come again sometime and if you are not completely satisfied, I’ll give you a complimentary stay. Thank you for your business.

CHRISTMAS FAMILY GATHERING

I live about 30 minutes from both of my sons and three GrandDivas, so I thought I would bring everything to them this year. I found her Beautiful home and was very excited about my plan of the Girls and I hanging Christmas night. She had almost everything I could have needed to cook my fabulous dinner and all the room that I have at home for the children to enjoy. Even though, my fabulous night with the Girls failed to fruition, I needed the in her fabulous bed. I enjoyed my stay and will recommend this home to anyone.
