Stunning Oceanfront Studio w/Plunge Pool

Some of our guests have said they felt like they were on a cruise ship; you are just that close to the ocean. Casita Sonrisa is a gorgeous studio apartment where you can wake up watching the sunrise without even having to leave the comfort of your king-size bed. If you are not an early riser, there are room-darkening drapes, but we encourage you to leave them open at least one night during your stay and watch the first rays of sun as they touch Mexico’s easternmost shores.

The sliding glass doors open onto a furnished terrace that has breathtaking views of the ocean and also has private access onto the malecon for morning jogs or walks to beautiful Playa Norte and the downtown area. The furnished terrace includes a hammock for relaxing and enjoying morning sunrises and afternoon shade as well as a new plunge pool for cooling off on those hotter days.

The kitchen is complete with everything to prepare full-course meals or to make your favorite drinks and snacks. A sitting area near the kitchen has a couch-styled twin daybed for an extra guest and an oversized closet for storage and extra linens. The colorful bathroom includes a walk-in shower, a talavera sink, and hand-painted tiling throughout.

Casita Sonrisa is perfect for couples, a family with a young child, or those that want to get out and walk or jog along the sea from your own back door.

Relax and Enjoy. We are sure you will also have a “Sonrisa.”

We loved our stay at the Caribbean Casa! The owners were friendly and great with communication. The property was clean and the air conditioning worked great. It was well stocked with towels and kitchen essentials. There was also plenty of bottled water provided. Views of the sunrise over the ocean from the bed every morning was amazing!

Clean, good location, not good AC

We were VERY uncomfortable with the AC situation at this property. We kept the black out drapes closed at all times the sun was up bc the room would get immediately hot. We got ill from the heat toward the end of our trip. If they can get more AC units for this property or something we would consider going back. Other wise it was good. Clean. Good location. Safe.

Cute little place to stay on Isla Mujeres! A beautiful ocean view, with the malecon right outside your door for a lovely stroll. The AC worked great, and the hostess was quick to reply to any questions we had!

Our stay was purely incredible. The view itself is a million dollar view! The location is perfect, literally walking distance from the ferry, and down to main strips. Hidalgo av is walkable also, but we chose to get a golf cart as it was so hot and we wanted to pack around a bunch of stuff to the beach. They have beach chairs in the closet for your use. We left a beach umbrella there also for others to enjoy. Would recommend bringing a soft cooler with you if you plan to enjoy the beaches. Super safe right behind the naval base. The balcony overlooks the boardwalk (malicon), which goes a long ways along the edge of the island, many joggers and walkers utilizing it often. The unit is perfect size for two people. They do have an air mattress if needed for others too. Everything worked great, was clean and comfortable! The bed is huge (bigger than king size it felt like). They have big filtered water bottles for use and will refill if you run out. The shower worked, always had hot water when needed. The balcony has a gate that lets you walk down to the boardwalk if you like. Julia the concierge was fantastic also with lots of great info anytime we needed it!!! Just a WhatsApp message away at anytime!! We will be back again for sure!!!! They do have a second unit also upstairs which is much bigger and has rooftop access if you need a bigger space. But this unit was absolutely the perfect size for my husband and I.
