Located in nice neighborhood, surrounded by mountains, 10 minutes to eagle river Nature Center and Trail system, 25 minutes to Eureka Alaska Park Lake and Trail System, 2 hours to Seward AK, 2 Hours to Talkeetna AK, 2 Hours to the Russian River, 3 hours to Soldotna & Kenai AK , Numerous paved hiking trails right next to the house. Centrally located to Anchorage Alaska 20min drive, Walmart located 5-minute drive from the apartment, Two large bedrooms with one bathroom with a jetted bathtub with shower. Shared Foyer with owner who occupies the upper levels. The unit is in the lower level of the home Separated by locking doors.

This is our favorite place to stay in the Anchorage area! It's beautifully designed, the kitchen has everything we need, and the washer/dryer set up is perfect. We really like the location as well - it's a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes away from Walmart and the center of Eagle River.

Easy check in and nicely appointed rooms. Realky appreciated the laundry facilities and quiet location.Need a light switch to turn on porch light from rental so dont have go disturb owner.The bathroom (toilet especially) and kitchen stove could use a good cleaning.

It was overall great. Good location for us to visit family and close to Anchorage. It was clean and spacious.The only thing I disliked was no outside lighting, as we arrived after dark and couldn't see the house numbers. There were nonworking outside lights. The entry sidewalk had a step that you couldn't see in the dark. It would have been a perfect rental except for the outside lighting.

Place was good. The host said we were welcomed to have coffee, cereal, and pankcake mix. All of those items were expired over 3 months to 3 YEARS!!! The beds were beyond soft. Shower was awesome. Firepit area was suitable. Location was alright.

Overall it was a nice stay. The jacuzzi tub shower combination was nice but we are 80 years old and having no handgrips was a bit of a challenge. It in a nice quiet neighborhood and generally clean.

The owners were very nice the place was quaint the neigborhood was quite easy to get around the town. We come in late at night would like to have been able to see the address better in the dark. Good bed slept well

The location is excellent: close enough to downtown Anchorage but far enough away to be on the edge between suburban and rural. The bedrooms are small, but the large beds are more appreciated than more floor space would be! The kitchen, dining area, and living room are well-apportioned and comfortable. Shauna and Kirk were very accommodating and responsive to messages.

Great place in a great location

Visited my son in the Air force and this is a great place close to the base with all the amenities, just what we needed. Had a wonderful stay here.

Description stated whole house, but upon arrival learned it was only basement which was ok. Unfortunately, owners were upstairs and after working long days, there were a few nights where there were disturbing outbursts from above and I got very little sleep.

Sports weekend-perfect place

We stayed in the Happy Bear for a swim meet weekend. Perfect place to rest and recoup each night and get ready for the next day. Quiet easy to find location, very comfortable and well decorated place. Great hosts.

Overall this was a great place for us. It was within a couple miles of family and made it nice to have space (and full kitchen) from them in the evening and not sleep on their couch!

The property was nice & very supplied. My only issue is this is not as advertised. Advertised as an entire house with bedrooms on lower level. Thats one of the main reasons we booked it. One of our guests has bad knees & struggles with stairs. The reality is this is a house that has been turned into multiple apartments. The apartments are nice, but by lower level, this meant basement level, which meant stairs. I would have rated this 5 stars had I known this was an entire apartment that required stairs for access- but then again, I would not have booked it. We ended up staying elsewhere half of our trip. Again, the apartment was nice, beds were comfy, instructions were clear, supplies were provided- property just not a complete house & required stairs

Honeymoon Get-Away

All clean and very nice. Close to walmart which was nice. There was a nice fire pit. The Newlyweds were presented with a little wedding gift, which was very thoughtful of the property owners.

I would definitely stay here again. Location was great for my stay. Property was as advertised. I didn’t get to use the back yard and firepit as it rained every day.
