Normons cove long cove

Wow words can’t express the delight we felt arriving at Linda and mikes place. This place is impeccable , cosy, decorated top knotch and a beautiful view I felt as if I had been honoured to share a piece of the islands artistry . I can’t even put into words how to describe it. Just go trust me this place is a piece of heaven and the owners are above and beyond fantastic! We arrived to fresh baked goods imagine ??!! Just book it and you too will have this experience that you won’t soon forget ! 10

A beautiful escape to small-town Newfoundland

To begin with, the residence is one of the best we've ever stayed in. The home is warm, charming and eclectic while being up to date with every convenience. We felt so welcomed by the towns people that we were able to join right in with the local activities - very fun, indeed. If you never leave Norman's Cove, there's plenty to do with several hiking trails and endless shores to wander. We found a jut of rock over the water just North of the cove where we could watch the whales come in at dinner time to feed. We caught capelin with our bare hands right at the water's edge and the kids found loads of beautiful shells and rocks and driftwood. If you do leave Norman's Cove, the drives are fabulous and the towns are all so different and charming. I could go on and on, but to summarize - GO! You won't regret visiting Newfoundland.

Liebevoll eingerichtete Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage mit Meerblick

Wir haben uns in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt. Beide Häuser sind liebevoll eingerichtet, waren sehr sauber. Es war alles da, was man zu einem erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Ein kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft ist fußläufig (5 min) zu erreichen. Die Umgebung hält einige schöne Wanderwege bereit. Sehr freundlich waren die Nachbarn, die uns spontan zu einer Bootstour eingeladen haben. Sehr zu empfehlen für alle, die Urlaub in der Natur und fernab von allem Touristengetummel machen wollen.

Very nice place

We were a party of six friends. Because we weren't here with husbands one of the ladies slept on a sofa, which she found very comfortable. The main house is spacious, clean and beautifully furnished in a blue and white nautical theme. Long Cove has a couple of grocery stores, a gas station and a cute little beach where we found sea glass. One of the stores is five minutes from the house. We did day trips to St John's, Brigus, Salmon Cove and Cupids. Very outstanding was our contact person at the house who promptly responded to our needs, including going above and beyond by providing a walker to one of the ladies with us who fractured a bone. If you're looking for a comfortable home away from home in beautiful, rugged Nfld, I recommend this place. Very good value for the price and so comfortable.

Great Family Accommodations

What a beautiful home! And with all the amenities you'll need. Most everything you may want to see is within an hour's drive, in almost any direction. Great local trails & conveniences. Local people very friendly & accommodating. Store clerk even sent a local fisherman to take some of us for authentic cod fishing - then cleaned all the fish too! Definitely recommend this home/location as it allows the family to be as busy - or relaxed! as you wish. Owners provided toddler/baby equipment too!

Stunning!

Immaculate, spacious, luxurious quickly come to mind. We sipped wine on the front porch watching hump back whales in the harbour. Day trips to St John's, sea kayaking in Bay Bulls (saw humpbacks spraying), golf (1 hr 20 mins) away at beautiful Terra Nova Park. A friendly fisherman from Norman's Cove took us out to see whales (twice - second time he came to the door excitedly telling us a humpback was in!) - we did meet up with a school of dolphins playing in our wake. We met more friendly locals and 'toured' the local fish processing plant. Lots to do; outstanding accommodation at the end of day.

Perfect Find for All!

My husband and I, and our extended family stayed at this well-appointed home for four days after our son’s wedding in Newfoundland this past July. The home is stunningly located up a hill in a quiet small village, close to walking trails and with a fabulous view of the ocean. The scenery from the front porches was breathtaking. The home and studio were very clean and comfortable. Having use of the studio unit was a bonus for our family - for those who wanted to sit quietly in the evening to read and/or watch the stars v. the family members who wanted to watch tv and/or play cards. Michael and Linda were gracious hosts, leaving staples in the home for our use. A binder containing literature was available for recommended day trips or hikes. As far as location - less than an hour into St. John’s made for a great day trip; less than an hour to golf at The Wilds made for a great afternoon of golf! A five minute walk takes you to the harbor where the fishermen were equally as welcoming. Lots of hiking trails were also close by. Should we find ourselves back in Newfoundland, we will definitely want to stay here again.

Beautiful spot in a small fishing village!

This spot truly made our summer vacation a delight this summer. This home was very clean, beautifully decorated and well maintained. The decks were fantastic to drink coffee on in the morning and watch the fishing boats come in or to sip wine on in the evening. The owners had left a very helpful binder of information on local hiking trails by the water and brochures for local attractions. The kitchen is better equipped than my own! My teenagers loved it because of the Wifi, big screen TV and luxurious sheets! I will highly recommend this spot to anyone travelling with a family. Be sure to ask the locals where you can get some cod.

Artist's studio / House

This home was a wonderful experience....Comfortable right from the minute we stepped into it ! the owners have done it right and you immediately feel at home here....Having the studio for privacy was important as well ! The people in this little cove are very hospitable and my family and I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to pamper themselves !

Longview - like a home away from home

This beautiful property was enjoyed for my family reunion( England and Ontario). Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the outport harbour and watching the fishing boats come in. The local convenience store had virtually everything and we could walk there. The owner's guest guide for places to see and emergency and other practical information was most helpful. We stayed 4 nights and would have liked longer. Thanks -- hope to visit again.

We Loved Our Stay

We just returned from our trip to Norman's Cove-Long Cove, Newfoundland and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although we didn't end up utilizing all the space available (and there was plenty), we truly loved this cottage on the hill with spectacular views of the ocean. This hillside retreat was luxurious, clean and perfect. We HIGHLY recommend it!

Michael and I are retired professionals, and spend our time travelling between Ontario, Newfoundland and Florida with our lucky dog, Vincent Van Gogh…Michael is a well known artist, who spends his time painting the endlessly beautiful Newfoundland landscapes, and selling them at the Peter Lewis gallery in St. John's, and The Baccalieu Gallery in Heart’s Content. I spend my time in Newfoundland, reading, baking, hiking and creating canvas floor mats.
As a child, I had the good fortune to spend my summers in Long Cove, where my ancestors first settled in the 1700's, a family of fishermen & master shipbuilders. Both the lure of the sea & the legendary warmth of the Newfoundlanders captured my heart early on, but the opportunity to become residents only presented itself, in 2007
