We built our first home in Fort Moran in Surfside Shores 10 years ago as a family beach house to enjoy family time with our 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren, and close friends. We took great care to design and make this a special place that our whole family could enjoy. After many years in an Information Technology career, I retired and moved to the beach. It has been so much nicer looking out onto the ocean than a computer screen.
In 2016 we decided to vacation rent of our previous beach house. Then a few years ago we were able to buy another lot in Surfside that was only 150 feet from the gulf so we sold the first house to build this new one. We were able to build a larger home, kept many of the features that our family and guest loved, and add more features. We feel blessed to have this piece of paradise and hope that it will continue to be a place where our family and guests gather for many years to enjoy the natural beauty of the coast and to make wonderful memories.
We spend most of the off-season enjoying our home which allows us to take good care of our home ourselves, so we are truly a vacation rental by owner. We hope your family will enjoy our home as much as we do.

I fell in love with Fort Morgan the first time I saw it. It is truly a special place - one of the last frontiers along the gulf coast because it has not been commercialized. Fort Morgan still has a pristine natural environment with coastal vegetation, wildlife, uncrowded private beaches, all in a peaceful quiet setting. Fort Morgan is surrounded by water with Mobile Bay to the north and west and the Gulf of Mexico to the south. Many have commented “it is like being at the beach 40 years ago and “out in the country” at the same time.”
Of all the areas on Fort Morgan, I was drawn to the Surfside Shores neighborhood because it is unique with its large lots, sand dunes, lagoons, interesting wildlife, and natural coastal vegetation. Surfside makes a great place for biking, walking, and jogging with all its neighborhood’s paved streets. This Community has 2 private beach accesses and owns the first 100 feet of beach north from the mean tide line for all its residents and their guest to enjoy. No other neighbor has this.

The home is closer than many “beach-front” homes without the beach-front price. FortMorganSeaside is located catty-corner from our private beach access, very convenient for the multiple trips back and forth. Due to its ideal location, you can enjoy the site, sounds, wonderful smells of the salt air beach without the sand from the deck. Our beach is private and uncrowded where you can easily relax in the sun, enjoy the surf, take long walks picking up interesting shells, enjoy the sunset, build sandcastles, or dauphin watch. The grandkids love our private pool where we relax when we have had enough of the beach and sand.
There are many benefits to being a newly built home. The open floor plan with 9-foot ceilings, tall windows, light decor, and southern exposure gives an open airy outdoor beachy feeling. While the home has an open layout for family/friends gathering, at the same time the home offers great privacy where all 5 bedrooms have private baths. Also, there is sound insulation between the floors, as well as the bedroom and bathroom walls adding to the privacy. My family enjoys the privacy, as well as the open layout for coming together to share meals, games, movies, and conversations. We also have separate HVAC and Hot water per floor. With all-new material, hopefully, you will not have any inconvenient maintenance issues. We also used many local artist's furnishings and artwork, making our home decor unique.
