It's simple living, but it's so close to the water you feel like you're living in a houseboat. The house was very clean and very cool from air conditioning, and we had all we needed for a beautiful week. We especially appreciated Peter, the property owner, and how available he was if we had questions. He was in touch when needed, but otherwise gave us total privacy. The location is perfect for couples getaways, people who enjoy quiet, and anyone who wants to explore Little and Great Exuma. The two kayaks and paddleboard are excellent additions, and very easy to use on the calm water of Hoopers Bay. We especially enjoyed using them in the morning, while the sunrise-lit clouds were coming up over the nearby forested peninsula, and at sunset. The photos on the listing are older, and show a sea wall and porch covering that is no longer there, but in terms of beauty the spot is improved. Smitty's grocery store was well-stocked and very nearby, and the location of the cottage is central to the island, making drives to Tropic of Cancer, Coco Plum Beach, or the kayak/tour entrance to the Lazy River & Moriah Harbor National Park not too long. Georgetown and the Straw Market, as well as the airport, are short drives in either direction. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay- a cooler, beach bags, beach chairs and beach floats (we never used their chairs after trying the hammock floats!), beach towels, plus other beach amenities we didn't use. Thank you, Peter.
